Bolt. Ok, not as funny as it could have easily been and some of the jokes went on wayyy to long.

I saw a commercial where the dog is like "Where are you going?" and the hamster is like "I'm going to go break the guards neck." And I laughed.

There was a time when I questioned the ability for the schizoid to ever experience genuine happiness, at the very least for a prolonged segment of time. I am no closer to finding the answer, however, it has become apparent that contentment is certainly a realizable goal. I find these results to be adequate, if not pleasing. Unfortunately, connection is another subject entirely. When one has sufficiently examined the mind and their emotional constructs, connection can be easily imitated. More data must be gleaned and further collated before a sufficient judgment can be reached.

I only just heard about this movie "Twilight" yesterday when I was given two free tickets. Supposedly its some sort of vampire romance story based on a book. Never did go see it, but I do check it out on Rotten Tomatoes and found this topic that for at least the first 25 pages out of 196 is filled with so much 100% pure win and awesome that I just had to share it with you guys. Sparkle sparkle!

What seems like an awesome vampire movie is Let The Right One In. I hope they release this here in Portugal.

Whoa, thanks Pidesco!

Just seen the last episode of Firefly. Too bad the show wasn't continued. At least like this it stays varied and good ;) Next up I think is Serenitiy.

It looks good. Sadly it opened here, but in a theater too far to me to feel like driving to. >_

Over the weekend I watched:

THE BROTHERHOOD OF BLOOD - low-budget film from the creative minds behind House of the Dead 2 (yeah, they made a sequel to a Uwe Boll film...without Uwe Boll!). Involves a vampire who all the other vampires (including Sid Haig as a vampire leader and Ken Foree as a vampire of a different faction) fear coming back to life (they call him the devil) and a bunch of running around trying to stop it happening. Caught in the middle is a group of vampire hunters, specifically Victoria Pratt (Cleopatra 2525, Mutant X). Haig is good and Foree is good but slightly wasted by the film. And disappointingly, they never meet on screen. Pratt, who played action heavy heroines in other projects does adequately with the same here. But the plot is threadbare, hiding the fact that its twists don't make a lot of sense by using non-linear storytelling techniques.

DOG SOLDIERS - A somewhat better low-budget horror film than Brotherhood of Blood (although both have a weird plot twist that doesn't make a lot of sense based on who took some photographs). Generally speaking its a lot more fun to watch, with more interesting character bits. Sean Pertwee is awesome. You can tell Neil Marshall is a pretty good storyteller. Some good bits and a couple of great character moments (one of the soldiers gets the best defiant death scene ever) a bit hampered by that plot twist that makes a mash of character motivation combined with its inconsistency in how it treats the werewolf infection.

BARBARELLA - Despite being aware of the adaption for years (and having, several years ago, read part of a collection of the original series), I'd never actually seen it before. It is, however, almost exactly as I imagined it, a weird psychedelic experience that is both interesting and nonsensical at the same time. Still its fun, sometimes hilariously funny and always visually interesting.

I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man

I saw that earlier this year at a film festival.. I was blown away! Seriously, I've rarely seen a more haunting and beautiful film. Me and my friends were speechless for quite awhile afterwards. It derserves it's ranking amongst the top 250 on IMDB.

Finally watched Wall-E.

Hubby's first comment after watching it: "Those guys at Pixar sure have some wild imagination."

His second comment: "The romance parts were a bit much for me."

I liked it...first half was great, 2nd half worked. A robotic ET is an adorable creation. Think I'm going to watch it again.

Wall-E was awesome, Lazer killer I pod robot woman was daft.

Taken. This movie was good, shockingly good. Liam Neeson kicks everyones ass. The only thing that somewhat spoils this impressive revenge flick is the casting of Maggie Grace as Neesons' 17 year old daughter. Edited by Kor Qel Droma

It indeed was a good movie.

Tales from the Earthsea. Well, it was better than the scifi channel tv movie, but then again what wouldn

I saw Taken the other day and I thought It was bland and poorly written. I agree that it was cool to watch Neeson kick ass, but everything else was all kinds of awful. Neeson's character was an absolutely horrible father who I just couldn't sympathize with.

Also, His kid running around as if she was 8 years old really got on my nerves, and Famke Janssen's role was a waste of a fine actress.

The trailer was much better than the movie.

I just saw QoS. It was awesome.

In 7th grade, I teach the students how Chuck Norris took down the Roman Empire, so it is good that you are starting early on this curriculum.

I just saw QoS. It was awesome.

I just saw QoS. It was boring.

Literally Bond can't go anywhere without everyone he goes to see dying. He doesn't spy, he has no gadgets, his car is a normal car, he's not suave, he doesn't even drink a martini.

The most bondish moment was at the very end. but I won't spoil that. and to me there was only one death that really made sense. It's like the makers of the film looked at what the critics liked about Casino Royal and then decided to take those pieces they liked (namely the more grounded approach, the bond that is new on the job and doesn't know how to get through every situation) and go WAYYYY over the mark in how they did the next one. Instead of the pace of the movie being that of a normal spy movie (which is fairly slow) or even a previous bond flick (faster but not at the tempo of say, transformers) the makers took the movie and started at mach 1 and didn't slow down. I honestly liked a MI6 agent better than I liked bonds girlfriend. the Operative actually tried to fit into her cover.

So. Basically in a nutshell they took the standard bond flick, stripped out all the characteristics of a bond film, and made a movie about a thug who gets around.

Well I think it made sense - I understand where you're getting at, but he was on a quest for revenge and as such got a little carried away in his bloodlust. I felt it made good sense when you view as the "middle" of a triology, trying to portray how Bond became the Bond we know.

Transformers

It's atrocious, and deliberately atrocious at that. It's a Transformers movie, so the appalling crapitude comes with the territory.

Too many humans, not enough robots. If you want to have a large human cast, I better be able to see half of them get squished by the giant robots. Also, why the hell was Starscream loyal to Megatron?

7/10 for Twilight, really? That looks terrible in every way. It looks like an MTV psuedo-reality show with vampires. Do you like The Hills?

It was better than I thought it would be. That may be the main reason for such a high rating. Its sort of a teen romance and there arent any real fight scenes but it wasnt horrible. And I dont know what The Hills is.
