Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Part 4

The old topic was bigger than a rancor and just as deadly - don't ask me how, I'm not a scientist. Here's a new one, complete with questions so that ya'll don't need to ask them daily just in case the answer has changed.

Look, it's our website!

Much is repeated from our official FAQ.

Q: Do I have to read this thread's FAQ before posting? Because I'm sure I can post something that isn't covered in it.

A: Yes.

Q: When will this mod be done?

A: We don't have a projected time of completion yet. However, rest assured that we will keep you updated on our progress. You can check our Work In Progress page for details on what we're currently up to. What we're up to, module-related. We're not giving details on what we do every single hour of the day, and seriously, quit talking about your pet moths, it's creepy.

Q: I see a build version listed on the website. Where can I download it?

A: We haven't released a public version of the mod yet. This number serves to help track our progress - we have one beta tester who is working with us right now. The downloadable version will be announced when finished.

Q: Will you add ____ ?!

A: Our focus is on restoring the missing content that Obsidian Entertainment originally intended for the game. We will add content as we see necessary to make the plot work, but we are not adding random new sub-plots.

We will be revealing more details about our restoration efforts in future progress reports, but if you would like to know whether or not we already have plans to work on a specific restoration, feel free to ask us in our forums.

Q: Yeah, but will you add difficulty tweaks? Or new items?

A: No.

Q: Are you fixing game bugs?

A: We have found and fixed a few dialogue and scripting related bugs. Check it out. The "tweaks" will not be included in the mod, but the bug fixes will.

Q: Will your mod work with existing savegames?

A: Probably. We recommend starting over totally or, at the latest, before leaving Peragus just to avoid any potential weirdness. Even if your saved game from later doesn't end up buggy, you're going to miss additional content - the earliest of it appears quite soon after Peragus explodes.

Really, just start over. Maybe we put in an easter egg with Sion playing with kittens and you'll never see it if you don't start a new game.

Q: I have the XBox version of the game and a (legally) modded XBox - will your mod work on it?

A: At this point we're unsure. There are reports that new model files (.mdl's) - which the mod will likely contain - do not work on the XBox. After our work is completed we may look into creating a more fully compatible version for the XBox.

Q: Are you working on the Droid Planet?

A: No, we are not currently working on restoring M4-78, the Droid Planet. The only material that exists for it is basically an outline and a couple of possibly incomplete voiceover sets. Storylining, scripting, writing dialogue and recording sounds for an entire planet, as well as working it into the plot of the rest of the game is beyond the scope of the project at the moment.

Oh, but hey, you might want to check out the group that IS working on M4-78.

Q: How can I help? Can I join the team?

A: At this time, we don't need any additional help. If we have any future needs, we'll make an announcement. Thanks for the interest. But seriously, moths.

Q: Pleaaaaaaaaase can I help?

A: Okay, okay. We're looking for beta testers. Check out the long list of requirements here. In short:

BE: Literate. Articulate. Able to take screenshots. Uh... having lots of free time.

DON'T BE: A jerk.

Q: I feel like bashing LucasArts. This is the right thread for it, right?

A: No.

Q: I'm looking forward to your mod still.

A: Thanks!

What modifications is everyone looking forward to?

I'm looking forward to the engame portion. I think it would be neat to see everyone on Malacore V.

Well, obviously the endgame is the part of the game most harmed by the rushed deadline, so naturally that would probably be what most of us look forward to. Certainly I do. Malachor in the released version is terrible plotwise - long and boring slashfests in rocky terrain or pointless corridors with the NPCs disappearing into thin air with no explanation. Basically the plot goes into suspended animation from the moment you hit (!) Malachor V until you get to interact with Sion or, more appropriately, Traya. Restoring some actual plot to that dungeon crawl would indeed be a high point in my eyes.

That's not to say I'm not looking forward to other stuff, though. The HK factory and Genoharadan bit is stuff to look forward too as well.

Wow, a lot of progress has been made! Congrats to team gizka and thanks from me!

Maybe I should get my copy of K2 back from my friend.

I dont care about the mods as much as the fixes. Some of the missiosn were unplayable due to bugs. Like the one of he races i couldnt finish.

I'm not so sure about that. Sure there is a lot more to the end-game now, but I'd say that Nar Shaddaa would have about the same amount of added content as Malachor. Though I must admit the additions to Malachor help it actually make sense, which it never did before.

I meant more in the sense of plot structure and story development. Sure a lot was cut from Nar Shaddaa, but it did not hurt the game to such a degree that it wounded the plot IMHO. So while I look forward to restored content of Nar Shaddaa, I don't think the game needs it for the plot to hang together. I cannot say the same about Malachor V.

Well yes very correct. Whilst the new content is interesting, it really doesn't add much to the story aside from the HK factory and Malachor. Still fun though :p

Mainly the end.... It will five the game an actual one. The other thing maybe it would be the HK factory. Though being able to see the game in practically all it's glory will be THE thing.

Keep the good work TG!

Actually, you're right - the HK-47/G0T0/Remote ending doesn't work without the HK factory, and since that is central to the ultimate fate of Malachor V, we need that back in the story too.

Strange thing is that even though the part was cut from the game, LA still confirmed it as canon, given that New Essential Guide to Droids mentions G0T0's "death" on Malachor V.

Well, I just finished my first playthrough with TSLRP. And while I have to say I had to unfortunately miss the HK-factory due to a bug; the other content was certainly a welcome addition, same as many of the bugfixes (Kreia's Skill lesson come to mind). Still; it is obviously not quite finished yet. Here is a small list of what I consider 'noticable' bugs during my 1.0b8 playthrough, all unmentioned or "fixed" (before this version) according to Mantis. Most of them are features or trivial, except for underscored ones. *obviously* I have savegames for each and every underscored-"major" bug.

I know that most bugposts on 1.0b8 get ignored and flamed (hence I post here instead of the TSLRP forum), and I can probably expect a post soon from DW mentioning I should not complain about the beta that I should not play... but you do have to know some people actually DO try to help. As mentioned, if you need any confirmation for any of the major bugs of the list, I am happy to provide one of my many savegames...

As should be expected... the following list is riddled with spoilers. Read at your own risk!

* Entering Telos Military Academy re-awakes the unconscious

* Force shields in Academy miss pop-up now

* Bastila/Carth Hologram fixed, but still break in T3 convo when asking about the hologram again. G0-T0 permanent Hologram still unfixed.

* Missing HK-47 during post-Telos scene (open door)

* Handmaiden Robe Glitch

* You can force the Nar Shaddaa race-organisator to give back your "lost" money, but you won't loose any money when betting (test: 1000 credits).

* Force Persuading people down a pit is still a good deed for influence :D

* Oondar still sells after specifically threatnen no-one will sell to you.

* Nadaa will ask "have you found her yet" after using 4. not my issue first, so it is impossible to get the quest from here then. You have to find Adana.

* Force Persuading the Serocco to attack the Exchange will complete "Refugee Woes" when there is still the Exchange left.

* Sasquash personal guard still has wrong VO

* CTD-Crash in Red Eclipse Enter Cutscene if Kreia features in it.

***** Party members at the docks scene *****

* Tien Tubbs store broken again, TT32 unresponsive.

* Trying to go to the Refugee Sector will teleport you to the front of the Cantina.

* Going to the docks, then back, and the main sector will be spawning with life again. Also; going back to the EH re-triggers the 3 Zhug brothers battle. After returning to the Docks after all this there will be thrice the amount of Zhug, and 3 will survive the explosion.

* At the docks, if you have T3 as active character you will forever be stuck in a black screen.

*****

* G0-T0 yacht +1 for T3 is "magical" (yellow) instead of "permanent" (white), and dissapears when exiting the EH.

* Complete Goto's Yacht and get the reward from Vogga. Then dance for him, and awake him. Using the "overgrown slug" line you get another shot at shipping fuel to Telos, getting the reward a second time.

* During the G0-T0/Remote Scene the Remote is no longer bleeping

* Opo Chano is both on Nar Shaddaa and Telos (borrowed him money for his loan).

* G0-T0 will not give you a reward for stabalising Telos if you finished the quest before talking to him about getting money for stabilisation.

* Infinite XP-exploit: Using the HK-47 Peragus Training Program will grant you XP each time you do it...

* There are some issues with Mira's +influence trigger during the Dxun Zhug encounter; Mira's line not triggering when asking "Who are you", if she has run stuck on the broken droid in the back.

* Some minor Dxun suggestions; Zakkeg; when helping Devren the wrong questupdate is given after defeating the Zakkeg. During the fight; trying to leave probably should say you instead of I, also most likely the guide should NOT offer his escort to the EH.

* Mira Convo; there isn't an easy way back in the why did you save Hanharr convo after an influence fail, this might be fixed. Also, during the Mira and Hanharr tree there is an option [awareness] so that's why he wears cuffs that leads to a dead end in the conversation.

* Kreia/Visas Lightsaber training; Talking to Kreia acts like a successful fight, so you can actually skip all the training. Also Visas' saber doesn't show if it's Violet.

* Dantooine Mercenary camp: Nallak doesn't leave after being Force Persuaded to tell about his secret task as he should. The Mandalore fight doesn't have checks to prevent Mandalore to leave the map (which probably should be placed?), and has the PC in his underwear if he was wearing a robe when the fight started.

* Meeting a 3rd (or more) group of HK-50, while it being the second with HK-47 gives me a permanent black screen (confirmed so far; Nar Shaddaa landing pad and Dantooine plains)

* Dxun revisited: When you are allowed to pick teammates after saying 'later' you can leave the map, and in another area pick teammates, including the ones standing there in the gathering. Once you return; you've gotten clones :(!

* Sky Ramp: The Royalist back-up no longer follows after a reload, and disappears if you visit the barracks after receiving them. Also (LS) the Royalists in the Barracks have wrong VO. "I knew General Vaklu wouldn't stay allied with the Sith. I am glad we are rid of them." makes no sense at that point in the game, as the haven't broken their deal.

* Queen Talia promises credits, but gives none.

* Maybe this one IS a false report; but shouldn't T3's Holorecording of Canderous have some spoken lines by Canderous?

* During the Telos Polar Revisited scene (Male, just mentioning) Kreia and Atris convo is disrupted by a jump to the exile. Pressing 1 proceeds the convo, but it probably should not happen...

* During Telos Polar Revisited, if you are Handmaiden, entering Atris' Meditation Room will lock the door, getting you stuck.

* During Telos Revisited, there is a 100% guaranteed skipped line from Riiken.

* During the GenoHaraden scene you can recomplete 'Expirement in Delivery' once again by entering the Bith's room in the flophouse.

Edited by SteveThaiBinh: I suspect a lot of people who come here do not want to read about the contents of the beta version. I certainly include myself in that, so I added spoiler tags.

Well that's a great sentiment, but the thing is the team isn't going to pay any attention to bug reports from non-beta testers. From your point of view it might suck, it might be unfair, it might be stupid. But it is what it is, so really whenever people try and post bug reports, the only thing you're doing is wasting your time.

To: Darth Windu,

Why are you so defensive? How you approach people seems a little arrogant and defensive. People come to this site for Obsidian community news and recreation. You are involved with a modification team. That is great and all. Why so serious? Let people ask questions. We are all guests of Obsidian. Relax man. :)

Tell us about your beta testing experience. What new additions were you surprised about? Etc...

We are all friends here.

I have a little question for Team Gizka.

WHY HAVEN'T YOU FINISHED YET??

Obviously because they aren't done yet.

To quote Team Gizka: "...Coming when it's done." And while I'm eagerly awaiting TLSRP with anticipation and a sense of impatience, I appreciate that they take their time - rushing stuff is what got TSL into trouble in the first place. No reason to repeat that experience, thank you very much.

Well I realise I may have come off that way, especially in the last post I posted...

Anyway it's not my intention to come off that way, I'm simply stating a fact that's all. So whilst I may seem arrogant and defensive, it's mostly unintentional.

:) Everyone put in a lot of hours. I'm amazed at what I have allready played through. I couldn't imagine the excitement you must have felt being one of a few to play through the beta. :) I felt my jaw drop at certain points myself.
