Nick_i_am
You're right, though, the OST was pretty solid. I actually want to dig it up and give it a listen, now. Guild Wars: Factions has a pretty good sound too, even if it isn't authentically "asian," I enjoyed it. Actually, I really like all the Guild Wars music... I'll dig that up too. Well it WAS Soule, so expected. Likewise Supreme Commander and Oblivion. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
Tel Aviv
Arcanum's soundtrack was appropriate, sure, but I always found it to be dull and depressing to the power of ten, yo. On the other hand, Tobin's Chaos Theory OST is the balls, as are the various Half Life soundtracks. Edited April 18, 2008 by Tel Aviv

Now, please feel free to explain the advantages of Ipods that somehow makes them ten times better than say, oh: The Iriver Clix 2 8GB.. Or.. Creative Zen 32 GB.. Both these players support more formats than any Ipod, they have better screens (both are OLED), the Clix 2 is prettier (debatable) and the both cost a LOT less than any comparable Ipod. It annoys me to no end this unsubstantiated hype surrounding everything Apple. Buying an Apple product is like joining a cult and actually enjoy throwing your money away on nothing. Pop
Ipods aren't made for anything more rigorous than being lovingly gazed at, which is fine, Apple products are lifestyle accessories first and foremost. You don't get a MacBook Air or whatever it's called for the function. You get it because it matches your latte holders. In that case you could actually pay hundreds of dollars less for a laptop from the same brand that is very slightly larger and with much better specs. I got an ipod for my jogging routine. It lasted 12 days. My Creative Zen has lasted me 10 months now. Edited April 18, 2008 by Pop Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality! Slowtrain
I dunno. I've had an IPOD nano thingie for about a year or so. I wear it all around the city and whenever I work out, and I work out pretty hard 2 hours a day. It hasn't coughed up a lung on me yet. I have no special allegiance to it though. I can't remember why I bought it. Maybe they were on a special at Best Buy? Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. It's a useful skill to have particularly where you aren't allowed to call people names. It's a mistake to get too drawn in/worked up. I mean it's not life or death, it's just two guys posting their thoughts on a message board. If it were personal or face to face all the usual restraints would be in place, and we would never have reached this place in the first place. Try to remember that. Slowtrain
I'll stick with CD, tape, and record players thank you. I used to feel the same way. And even though the sound quality isn't as good as a cd, the convenience is fab. I got really sick of lugging my portable cd player everywhere and it was really difficult to work out with especially. Pop
Ipods depend on the generation and the size. The 1-2 gigs last awhile, and older, heftier versions of ipods are generally pretty durable. It's when they started going form over function that the quality started to slip. Besides the fact that it's durable, another nice thing about the Zen is that it has an external battery that can be manually replaced. Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality! Tigranes
Apple products are lifestyle accessories first and foremost. Truth. I know some people out there just buy them because the functionalities fit their particular needs and don't buy into the hype, but I actually think they're in the negative. There are people who, just like in stories, buy an iPod because they think it's COOOL and Steve Jobs is like double chocolate chip cookie in ice cream. There are people who know nothing about gadgets and are intimidated by them, and just get an iPod because its huge marketing makes it instantly recognisable to even them, and it doesn't LOOK like it's going to cause you trouble, either. (Until it does.) There are people for whom iPod has become the standard and the 'leader' in the industry due to hype and marketing, and image control, and they judge all other players against the iPod. There are definitely mp3 players superior to the iPod, but usually not one absolutely and substantially superior; so in the face of that they'll go with the iPod. It's definitely not 'crap' or anything, but Apple did a very good job of marketing it, didn't they? I own a Samsung YP-10 that came with bluetooth headphones. Basically same as iPod nano, but much prettier interface, similar (i think a bit more) functionality, a touch screen rather than the wheel which I personally hate, and it looks better, for me. Pop
Zen is that it has an external battery that can be manually replaced. Is that in addition to the internal battery or in lieu of? What size battery? In lieu of. I won't lie, it's a sizable player, about the size of your hand stretched out. It's got a nice big screen for watching vid files, too. I haven't had to replace the battery yet (I think they run for $30 or so) but I've been dilligent about only charging when the battery's fallen below 25% power.
