Guard Dog Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 In honor of the 30th Anniversary of the release of Star Wars, which movie was your favorite? 30 freaking years! I feel old. My vote goes to Empire. It was the darkest of all the filems and the only one that actually made Vader seem dangerous. Hurlshort Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 I voted for IV. Mostly because Han Solo murdered Greedo. That was awesome.
metadigital Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 It's a difficult call for me, as I saw the first one in the cinema and it (obviously) had a profound effect (on me, and the rest of the world). Having said that, the sequel was a much better film, if only because George had someone else write the script and direct it. Also, this should be in StarWars ... Kelverin Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 I thought we did this already. Star Wars as it was released in 1977 wins. Empire is the hip choice I know, but the way the story was told in the original was better. I saw SW like 25 times in the theater when it was released and have never done the same for any other movie. J1 Visa Southern California Cleaning

mr insomniac Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Episode IV. Started the whole thing off and still induces that same feeling of magic and scope that it did when I saw it in the theatre in 1977. I took this job because I thought you were just a legend. Just a story. A story to scare little kids. But you're the real deal. The demon who dares to challenge God. So what the hell do you want? Don't seem to me like you're out to make this stinkin' world a better place. Why you gotta kill all my men? Why you gotta kill me? Nothing personal. It's just revenge.

Guest Accept Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 (edited) Is it today Star Wars is celebrating 30-years? I thought it was tomorrow... Edited May 24, 2007 by Accept
LadyCrimson Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Star Wars, minus the "new hope". “Things are as they are. Looking out into the universe at night, we make no comparisons between right and wrong stars, nor between well and badly arranged constellations.” – Alan Watts
SteveThaiBinh Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 The last one, because I think I saw it more often on TV when I was a kid, and so remember it better. I'm sure Episode V was a better movie, though. "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)
Guard Dog Posted May 24, 2007 Author Posted May 24, 2007 (edited) Is it today Star Wars is celebrating 30-years? I thought it was tomorrow... CNN said today. Dunno. If this has been done here already sorry bout that. I never come to this board. Originally this was in OT but Meta banished it. ghosta Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 I say episode V is the best. For once the dark side is on top. Your not all ways being honest when your telling the truth. Everything slows down when water's around.
Purgatorio Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 IV. And III has one vote too many already. Same with 2. I voted for Attack of the Clones For some unknown reason I'm not surprised. It's difficult to choose, not because they're all great, but because they all merge into one. However the music from The Empire Strikes Back stands out, so I vote in favour of the 2nd film.
