Sand Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 http://www.gocomics.com/doonesbury/2007/04/15/ One of my favorite comics ever and often makes good points on many subjects. SQUEEEEEEEE! Murphy's Law of Computer Gaming: The listed minimum specifications written on the box by the publisher are not the minimum specifications of the game set by the developer. @\NightandtheShape/@ - "Because you're a bizzare strange deranged human?" Walsingham- "Sand - always rushing around, stirring up apathy." Joseph Bulock - "Another headache, courtesy of Sand"
Enoch Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 (edited) I'm as big a Doonesbury fan as you'll find, although I don't necessarily think that the above is really that great an example of Trudeau's best work. A bit too 'easy' of a target for my tastes. BTW, here's a better link with fewer ads. Edited April 17, 2007 by Enoch
Sand Posted April 17, 2007 Author Posted April 17, 2007 True enough, but these latest batch of Republian frontrunners are so easy. Take Romney for example. He's like the Republican version of John Kerry. Xard Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 The Perry Bible Fellowship is superior, I consider it being one of the best "comics" ever How can it be a no ob build. It has PROVEN effective. I dare you to show your builds and I will tear you apart in an arugment about how these builds will won them. - OverPowered Godzilla (OPG)
thepixiesrock Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 Pokey the Penguin and Nedroid comics are the best. Lou Gutman, P.I.- It's like I'm not even trying anymore!http://theatomicdanger.iforumer.com/index....theatomicdangerOne billion b-balls dribbling simultaneously throughout the galaxy. One trillion b-balls being slam dunked through a hoop throughout the galaxy. I can feel every single b-ball that has ever existed at my fingertips. I can feel their collective knowledge channeling through my viens. Every jumpshot, every rebound and three-pointer, every layup, dunk, and free throw. I am there.

theslug Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 The Perry Bible Fellowship is superior, I consider it being one of the best "comics" ever qft man with no **** one was absolutely amazing along with a few others. There was a time when I questioned the ability for the schizoid to ever experience genuine happiness, at the very least for a prolonged segment of time. I am no closer to finding the answer, however, it has become apparent that contentment is certainly a realizable goal. I find these results to be adequate, if not pleasing. Unfortunately, connection is another subject entirely. When one has sufficiently examined the mind and their emotional constructs, connection can be easily imitated. More data must be gleaned and further collated before a sufficient judgment can be reached.
Walsingham Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 I hate to admit it but I can't think of any Donnesburies I've laughed at since the '70s. "It wasn't lies. It was just... bull****"." -Elwood Blues tarna's dead; processing... complete. Disappointed by Universe. RIP Hades/Sand/etc. Here's hoping your next alt has a harp.
SteveThaiBinh Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 I quite like Mark Fiore. Unfortunately many politicians are unphased when confronted with their own hypocrisy. As a left-wing Labour MP caught sending her kids to a private school once said, "It's indefensible, so I'm not going to defend it." "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)
Sand Posted April 18, 2007 Author Posted April 18, 2007 What gets me is that these politicians scream about how important family values are and wish to dictate to the American people what a "family" should consist of and they have no clue that the social dynamics of what a family is has changed from the 1950's. Murphy's Law of Computer Gaming: The listed minimum specifications written on the box by the publisher are not the minimum specifications of the game set by the developer. @\NightandtheShape/@ - "Because you're a bizzare strange deranged human?" Sure they have. It's just only changed in the way they've experienced, serial monogamy. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."

Pop Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 The only things funnier than Doonesbury are the New Yorker cartoons. I don't laugh, but inside, I smile. Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality!

taks Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Unfortunately many politicians are unphased when confronted with their own hypocrisy. As a left-wing Labour MP caught sending her kids to a private school once said, "It's indefensible, so I'm not going to defend it." personally, i think it is impossible for a politician to NOT be hypocritical. they have to please so many people, often with opposing agendas, they ultimately wind up in contrary positions from one day to the next... positions they don't necessarily agree with, either. taks comrade taks... just because.
metadigital Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 I think they can be internally consistent, however, like the Labour politician mentioned by Steve, above, who is meant to champion government schooling, and yet is spending public money, admittedly given to her as a wage, to send her children to a Private School. The hypocrisy is that she was the Minister for Education ... OBSCVRVM PER OBSCVRIVS ET IGNOTVM PER IGNOTIVS OPVS ARTIFICEM PROBAT
