WoW movie on the way

Recommended Posts

Just because you're a bit thinner than your even fatter mum it doesn't mean you're in excellent physical shape, if you could fit through the door and view the normal people you'd notice that cheeseburger boy. Squid suck.

Calling it as a "World of Warcraft Movie" is just silly. Really. It's just a movie based on Warcraft setting. How can a movie be made  based on a MMO?

Every 10 minutes of the movie they will move on to another spawn

I have to agree with Volourn.  Bioware is pretty much dead now.  Deals like this kills development studios.

I doubt it. As long as a decent quality is kept there should be enough bnet kiddies to keep a movie like this afloat.

It better be funny, I don't think I could stomach a po-faced warcraft film full of teen dramas.

We now bring you live footage from the World Championship Staring Final.

Been waiting for Blizzard to make a movie in the Warcraft universe. Trying to tie it into the WoW MMORPG is retarded though, as if the setting wasn't already established. It better have Thrall or it will suck.

What are the new races? IIRC, the Horde gets Blood Elves, what does the Alliance get?

Eredar, the demon-race of which Archimonde was a member.

Cool, thanks for the link. Any info out there on racial traits for them?

Nope, and it isn't officially confirmed yet (that's my disclaimer). However, in the image, under the screen, you can see the Sierra logo. Sierra and Blizzard are both owned by Vivendi, which lends credence to this being the new Alliance race. It also fulfillls the "WTF?" component that Metzen mentioned.

They sure are tight-lipped with this expansion, isnt it due out some time this year? I also find it a little odd that a demonic race would be in the Alliance camp. Oh well, guess Ill have to wait and see.

Never been impressed by Blizzard's games and I will not be impressed by any movie based on them.

from:

http://www.lib.umich.edu/spec-coll/faulkne.../hollywood.html

"Faulkner spent long months and long years in Hollywood, making himself use his time and talent on work he believed was beneath him just so he could pay his bills. Usually the writing was what he considered "hack work." But in early 1943, film director Howard Hawks asked him for help in preparing a script for Hemingway's novel, To Have and Have Not. Hawks said that when Hemingway had refused his offer to work for him in Hollywood, he said "I'll take your worst book and make a movie out of it, and you'll make money on it." The novel Hawks selected was To Have and Have Not. Hemingway sold him the screen rights and Hawks went to work, using Warner Brothers for financing and facilities.

"The first screenplay was written by veteran scriptwriter Jules Furthman whose credits included "Treasure Island" and "Mutiny on the Bounty." It was a 151-page screenplay that Warner Brothers was "urged" not to film because it featured smuggling and insurrection that reflected badly on Cuba and the Batista regime. Cuba and the U.S. were allies in the war effort and the U.S. was unwilling to do anything to endanger that relationship. Thus, Faulkner had a full shooting script from which to work, but which required an entire reshaping.

"Faulkner suggested changing the location to Martinique and developing a political interest that would be the conflict between the Free French and the Vichy government. He also created the character "Slim," based on two separate women in the previous screenplay. Scholar Bruce F. Kawin says that Faulkner was little motivated to change Hemingway's material simply because it was Hemingway. He was more interested in the political aspects of the script, his anti-Vichy sentiments, and the characterization of the Resistance fighters, particularly the women.

"When the film was released it was quite a success, becoming one of the thirty top-grossing pictures of 1944."

film is different than novels or short stories or games. is not unusual for crap source material to make for good movie... and how many times has we seen great source material end in crap.

HA! Good Fun!

A very eloquent post, Grommie but I will make a counter argument.

Super mario Brothers: The Movie.

Dungeons and Dragons: The Movie.

There has yet been a game to movie conversion that has been of what I consider good. The best of the bunch has been Resident Evils and they are of only decent quality and not good.
