Calax Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 YAY the almighty master Finovar is back! horray.... WE NEED ROBES WITH HOODS. ^for those who don't take the hrs needed to go through the millions of posts and inane conversations Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.
hawk Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 1) Coruscant2) Yavin IV 3) Ilum 4) Myrkr 5) Alderaan 6) Mon Calamari 7) Sleheyron Ord Mantell 9) Kessel 10) Falleen 11) Ossus 12) Ziost 13) Byss <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Great list! I really like all of those planets! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> All the planets I want to see are there, except for Khar Delba/Khar Shian. Not sure about Ossus, though - it doesn't seem to make much sense so shortly after it became a casualty of Exar Kun during the Sith War... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This was from part 7. So shortly after a casualty of Exar Kun during the Sith War? Remember that Dantooine became a casualty of Darth Malak during the Jedi Civil war and 4 years after Dantooine became this casualty you are solving a Mercenary problem on that planet! So at least 44 years after Ossus became a casualty of Exar Kun it looks to me that this is not so "shortly". I mentioned the planet because I wanted to mention some Jedi planets which IMO should also be in Kotor III. Master Vandar lives!
Calax Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 the difference is Ossus got turned into a complete wasteland because of about a dozen nearby supernovas. Dantoinne only got hit with some simple lasers. Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.

I mean, Ossus still looks like a ruin when Luke comes by more than 4000 years later... But that's just me. Besides, I tend to think Sith worlds will be more important that Jedi worlds in KotOR3, since that is presumably where Revan went, and where the Exile followed. Visit my KotOR blog at Deadly Forums.

I'd say good riddance if it wasn't for all the bloody trouble of reconciling their differences... Visit my KotOR blog at Deadly Forums.

Gabrielle Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 Momento mori? Any how, yes to robes with hoods. That would be so cool.
Darth_Schmarth Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 Robes with hoods is indeed a must, but also things like having your man getting rid of those timid facial expressions when fully evil darkside. You always end up having a hard time taking your own character seriously. And to Fio: I saw you deleted my post (you probably don't even remember which one by now), but it was just because Calax came in to fulfil all my expectations of how the thread was to continue. I apologise if I came across as a bit gruff. ^Asinus asinorum in saecula saeculorum
metadigital Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 This thread will just continue to grow as everyone keeps repeating the same things in it. I want better writing, not stupid hoods or holsters or grips. I want an ending. And a middle. And a beginning. And some interesting characters. I didn't see Anakin's skin falling off after he murdered all those children. - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast.

Calax Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 I think we need more Matale, Sandral loving............... Ok maybe not, but I agree in that they need better writing, and possibly better voice actors. Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.
jodo kast 5 Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 Real armor with helmets, not masks!, like the mando assault armor in k1 ,that owned!
Weiser_Cain Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 Hey how about Force skills? Dump the simplified version for deeper more flexible character building. You could still have the quick character for those that don Yaw devs, Yaw!!! (
Weiser_Cain Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 Just had a great idea! Starting locations/classes. Depending on the combination you get introduced to the game and the main story(which would actually creep up on you hopefully) in different ways. Just oodles and oodles of branching storylines that you directly and indirectly affect. Yaw devs, Yaw!!! (
EnderAndrew Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 In a more generic Star Wars RPG I'm down with non-Jedi classes. The plotlines of both KOTOR:1 and KOTOR:2 really preclude non-Jedi main characters. The KOTOR era is all about Jedi and Sith. That's just the way it is.
Weiser_Cain Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 Ah but you don't have to be the Jedi. How important was Han Solo? And he had not a jot of force sensitivity. Plus it's sometimes more heroic to face challenges when you can't pull a star out of orbit with your mind. Yaw devs, Yaw!!! (
EnderAndrew Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 You completely missed my point. You couldn't have had the plot of either KOTOR:1 or KOTOR:2 with a non-Jedi character. Could Revan have been a non-Jedi? Could the Exile have been a non-Jedi? Furthermore, the setting is all about Jedi vs Sith. We're not talking about the generic, larger universe Star Wars. We are talking about a specific setting with Star Wars.
Archmonarch Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 Agreed, leave the remainder of Star Wars existence to a later RPG series. (Hint, hint.) And I find it kind of funny I find it kind of sad The dreams in which I'm dying Are the best I've ever had

Weiser_Cain Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 You miss my point, I'm talking about Kotor 3(and no, I'm not talking about SWG), not Revan or the Exile, you're someone new and it's completely up to you who that is. I want this one to be about Jedi and Sith as well but you can play the important role in the game without being the man or gal with the force. You'd have to be pulled into the center of the story(something as far as I know doesn't happen in SWG). And more importantly you affect the story in different ways depending on your class and abilities. And it's not like I want to get rid of force classes I want them trust me, I just want as many options as possible. I want to play through as my force adept as well as my evil Twilek Tech Specialist or her slave/guinea pig cyborg with the awesome piloting skills, Oh yeah I'd also like to play as an alien so I can go around being hated for something other than being a Jedi It Yaw devs, Yaw!!! (
EnderAndrew Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 The game should be about Jedi and Sith, but you shouldn't play a Jedi? That would make it hard to develop the game. What kind of plot would they run that wouldn't require you to be able to feel or understand the Force? And what non-Jedi Tech Specialist should reasonably be able to stand toe-to-toe with the baddest Sith in the Galaxy?
