Diogo Ribeiro Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 I like how the html code of the page is huge and convoluted and you only have one image there.
Darth Flatus Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 I never thought people could have such strong feelings of loyalty/hatred for a game designer. Its pretty gay.
Musopticon? Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 Isn't all here? kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. Those who were too weak to survive were sent to Sweden. It has made me the man I am today. A man who craves furry hentai. So let us go and embrace the rustling smells of unseen worlds
GhostofAnakin Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 I prefer the games Interplay sold after BIS. "Console exclusive is such a harsh word." - Darque"Console exclusive is two words Darque." - Nartwak (in response to Darque's observation)
alanschu Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 Actually, I'm pretty sure that Fallout 1 was released before Black Isle Studios became it's own entity. I just notice that it installs into Interplay directories, not Black Isle ones.
mkreku Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 Interplay did Wasteland long before BIS ever existed. And I still think that's the best game to ever come out of Interplay.. Actually, it's probably the best game I've ever played. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
ShadowPaladin V1.0 Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 Actually, I'm pretty sure that Fallout 1 was released before Black Isle Studios became it's own entity. I just notice that it installs into Interplay directories, not Black Isle ones. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think FO predates BIS (as a division) though it still had the same people working on it. I have to agree with Volourn. Bioware is pretty much dead now. Deals like this kills development studios. 478327[/snapback]
Mordrian Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 So what has actually Interplay done that is great? Well... what have they actually done at all, except Wasteland, which is a very old title?

Looking at them now it seems I was wrong.
Darque Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 Interplay did Wasteland long before BIS ever existed. And I still think that's the best game to ever come out of Interplay.. Guest Fishboot Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 Interplay was only the publisher on a lot of those - Descent and Out of This World being the big ones I recognize. I can't really think of anything that came from real IPLY genes that is now a hallowed game that wasn't an RPG. Maybe Neuromancer as an adventure game.
GhostofAnakin Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 * Boogerman: A Pick and Flick Adventure <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This one HAD to be good. "Console exclusive is such a harsh word." - Darque"Console exclusive is two words Darque." - Nartwak (in response to Darque's observation)
Arkan Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 The only reason to keep IPLY in our memory is that most of us would not be here if it were not for them. Now? Does it even matter, anymore? "Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger." - Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials "I have also been slowly coming to the realisation that knowledge and happiness are not necessarily coincident, and quite often mutually exclusive" - meta
kirottu Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 * Rags to Riches: The Financial Market Simulation <{POST_SNAPBACK}> " :D This post is not to be enjoyed, discussed, or referenced on company time.
Gorth Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 Well, if you include stuff they published, but didn't develop, Carmageddon is one of my all timefavourite games  “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice.” - Albert Einstein
Diogo Ribeiro Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 * Rags to Riches: The Financial Market Simulation <{POST_SNAPBACK}> " :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Tim Cain was lead developer of that one.
Roger Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 * Star Trek: 25th Anniversary * Star Trek: Judgment Rites What happened to Scott Bennie?
Ellester Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 Ahhh, I forgot about Battle Chess. Add another IPLY title I bought to my list. Life is like a clam. Years of filtering crap then some bastard cracks you open and scrapes you into its damned mouth, end of story. - Steven Erikson
Volourn Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 "Interplay was only the publisher on a lot of those" Eh. No one claimed otherwise. Afterall, Interplay was/is a publisher. That's what they do. The thing is, they had a long history of making games. Great games, solid games, crappy games. They've done it all, and a lot of it before BIS or even BIO were on the radar blip. DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.
jaguars4ever Posted July 1, 2005 Posted July 1, 2005 * Star Trek: 25th Anniversary * Star Trek: Judgment Rites Those were two kick-ass adventure games I had back in the day.
