Kaftan Barlast
But, gee! Why would anyone want to do that? I mean, FOXnews is such an informative and wonderfully unbiased news channel! Unlike those left-wing conspiracy theorist nuts at CNN. taks
so, in other words, just because you guys don't think fox's viewpoint is fair, it should be censored? is that it? d'ya think, just maybe, that your view is a bit jaded by your ideology? just maybe? then, when finally an alternative comes along they absolutely must be biased. hearing that viewpoint must be sacrilege because it doesn't fit with the elite... oh no, we must stifle anybody that doesn't agree! go figure... i tell you what, explain how CBS managed their little debacle while remaining "unbiased". tell me they didn't have an agenda, and do it with a straight face. just because you the intelligencia don't agree with them does not mean fox is biased. i dare you to show bias in their news reporting ala NY Times. taks comrade taks... just because. taks
i actually read CNN (web) as well as Fox... their news reporting comes in on opposite sides of the fence, but middle mostly (neither is nearly as fanatic as the other side claims). now, there is a HUGE difference in their analysis for sure, and fox is decidedly right of center and CNN left of center in that regard... however, as rupert murdoch put it (paraphrasing) "if i could find a liberal analyst that anyone would listen to, i'd hire him/her in a second!" well, he has one, alan colmes, btw... taks comrade taks... just because. It seems such a hypocritical item; the left accuses the right of censorship and not letting views be heard, yet here we have an item to do just that. It's perhaps somewhat ironic that the left, supposedly the free-thinkers and such, would have members create an item to alleviate some free-thinking or free-acting for capitalistic gain. As Oerwinde says, you can just not watch FOX News. It's this kind of thing that makes the left-leaning people be taken less seriously.

Volourn
"I prefer BBC." The epitome of biasness. in fatc, they've been legally proven to be biased. R00fles! "CNNs news are definetly right-tinted" A. That wouldn't make them biased. B. No. Only a fool would state that. CNN has TONS of 'anti right' stuff on. Ton. In fact, one of their major shows is all about bashing Bush's economic polices. ie. jobs overseas = evil. So, you obviously, don't know what youa re talking about. CNN is many things; but bias to the right or left isn't one of them. in fatc, if they tilted anywhere it would be the left. DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250. And they use the same technique to counter less-rightwing news material such as "Well, thats what that nut John Doe says. No sensible person would belive that." Its just ugly tactics, thats what it is. again, mostly the analysts. the newscasts themselves (which are only on a few hours each morning and afternoon) are straightforward. CNNs news are definetly right-tinted compared to euro newschannels. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> even right-wing euro channels are left-wing compared to what we have. it's not really fair to compare since the "progressive" movement originated over there, as well as such wonderful concepts as socialism and communism. taks comrade taks... just because. Judge Hades
All news channels and sources are biased. Its human nature to be bias in some form or another. Some people are better at hiding their bias than others but for the most part it is always their. Best way to combat bias in the news is to watch multiple sources and get different views. If I see a news article from Fox I see what the other news channels cover it and their biases on it. The only way to get unbias news is to be at the news site when it happens. KOTORFanactic
I agree wit Hades (what again?) Thing is, i hate how some news groups, whether TV or newspaper, blow the most trivial things out of proportion. For example, our beloved Prince Harry dresses as a Nazi, and whup de doo, we have a scandal. Thing is, if this was just your average everyday bloke doing this, the media would not report it. Besides that, if dressing as a nazi is soooooooooooo bad here in England, the why was the fancy dress shop even selling them. <_< This is why I always rely on my own judgements. The news is a good source for getting info, but can nether be relied upon to give a totally unbiased view, none of us can.
Kaftan Barlast
That news can never be truly truthful or objective is a sad reality. It can however try to be, and not just become a tool of discreet propaganda. Reminds me of about a year ago we(5 of us) got in a bit of a row at a bar(because we were wearing drag and it was a hick place). The bouncers threw 3 of us out and then the police came and arrested two of the girls just for not shutting up. nothing else happened. well, except for the cops calling 3 more cars for backup for no apparent reason. we went home and the cops released the girls with a warning. The day after I read in the paper "30 youths stormed and vandalized a local restaurant, police was called and managed to break it off" WTF!!??
