But do you think there would be a PS:T without BG and Fallout?

Wow! Necroposting goodness (w00t)

Yes, I know I necroposted, but it was still relevant...

Hey, hey! Go be defensive on someone else

It's okay, DN, Queen Anubis wasn't being critical."

In order to keep the thread undead, i put my vote on Planescape: Torment.

PS:T always wins these polls, because this is an Obsidian froum where MCA works. Obviously we are a little biased.

Life is like a clam. Years of filtering crap then some bastard cracks you open and scrapes you into its damned mouth, end of story.

I think Fallout was better than PS:T.

Hades thinks

of the above my top 5 would be

Planescape Torment

Fallout 2

Fallout

Baldurs gate 2 w/ TOB

Icewind Dale 2

In that order.

Fallout 2 FTW.

Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.

Hades thinks correctly.

My vote went to FALLOUT, which I still consider the greatest RPG ever made, followed closely by PS:T, then Daggerfall (which isn't on the list, but anyway).

Fallout, of course

(Why does Llyranor look Portugese all of a sudden?)

We here at Obsidian are all Role-Player's alts, he role-plays, a lot.

I just saw a bit of the Postman, and it gave me a major urge to play Fallout. I wish I still had the CD's lying around.

Who voted BG 1? :shifty:

Planescape Torment

I prefer the Fallouts over PsT. Theres something about the Fallout setting that just hits me right where it counts, whereas PsT is downright depressing at times.

Turn-based SPECIAL also puts FO leagues ahead of any IE game in terms of gameplay. FO combat is always tons of fun wheres the IE games only get exciting in the big boss fights with lots of spellcasting.

FO combat is always tons of fun...

Oh yeah, especially when you're high level and you run into a couple of rats. You wait and wait and wait and when you finally reach each other you one-hit kill the critter. THAT'S SO MUCH FUN I COULD PUKE.

That's largely a problem with area design, not the combat. High level characters shouldn't have to fight low level ants and rats to begin with.

Well, I didn't really enjoy the 1p TB combat of the FO's. Except FOPOS. Now *that* was sweet.

Nope. I want to become powerful and be able to kill rats in one hit, which is why I didn't particularly like the scaling in Oblivion. This is a problem with combat, as there are plenty of other games where you can run into low level enemies and one-hit kill them within a few seconds (Gothic is a good example). The turn based combat in Fallout is slow, tedious and too predictable. That's the problem.
