Rosbjerg
Affleck is very good actor .. once he is allowed to develop on the role he has! it's hard to act on a crappy script! which he have had plenty of! But Brad Pitt is also a great actor (Seven, Fight club), but when he gets a role with very little room for personal interpretation (Troy) his acting sucks .. so blame the film! not the actor .. only exceptional actors, and they are few and far apart, can lift an entire film by their mere presence! Baneblade
Affleck is very good actor .. once he is allowed to develop on the role he has! it's hard to act on a crappy script! which he have had plenty of! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nope, Affleck hasn't made a single good movie. But Brad Pitt is also a great actor (Seven, Fight club), but when he gets a role with very little room for personal interpretation (Troy) his acting sucks .. so blame the film! not the actor .. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Seven & Fight club are two of my favorite films (in my top 20), but not because of Pitt's acting. altough, they are his best performance. only exceptional actors, and they are few and far apart, can lift an entire film by their mere presence! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This serves only to prove my case, both actors are of poor caliber. Probably wasn't my absolute favourite but definitely up there. ~DX <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I love it for a whole bunch of other reason .. the use of colour is brilliant! the simple philosophy of the film is explained very well through the styles of the fights and through nicely written dialouge! oh and did I mention the brilliant use of colours??? ------ and to Banblade .. well as I wrote the last part "only exceptional actors, and they are few and far apart, can lift an entire film by their mere presence!" I was thinking about the only 3 actors in the world I feel have perfected the art of acting .. some are good some are bad .. Affleck and Pitt are imo good, but not expectional! so you can't use that statement in your argument! because then everyone but the exceptionel actors would suck, and that is far from the case! Guest Surlent
Dodgeball. Haven't seen okay comedy for awhile and it was way better than I originally thought it would be. The antagonist in that movie is hilarious.
Errantry
Well, going for comedy is "Spaceballs", and "Airplane". Except those weren't 2004 movies. Do the "Star Wars" DVDs count as 2004 movies? They added over an hour of content, from what I heard. And, being a geek, Empire Strikes Back -is- my favorite movie.
thepixiesrock
Ahhh Airplane and Spaceballs, classics... One trillion b-balls being slam dunked through a hoop throughout the galaxy. I can feel every single b-ball that has ever existed at my fingertips. That was the performance that really changed my opinion of Brad Pitt, he had to do alot to dig himself out of the 7 yrs. in Tibet hole he dug. Affleck is a really bad joke perpetrated by the hollywood hypwe machine. He always playes roles that seem to be trying to show us hes not a complete dumbass, and they fail miserably. See Jay and Silent Bob SB, when hes trying to adlib, a real insight into Affleck's talent, especially when you think this is one of his closest friends editing this stuff People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. EnderAndrew
Mel Brooks is talking about doing a Spaceballs 2, presumably to parody the prequels. And Ben Affleck is downright GREAT in Chasing Amy. He's done plenty of bad movies, but that doesn't take away his Chasing Amy performance. The Star Wars DVDs are quite nice. Empire of Dreams is a good documentary. The best line is of course, "The wookie isn't wearing any pants!" Edit: People also forget that Affleck does have an Oscar for a small little film he wrote called Good Will Hunting. Laozi
Oh and I saw three movies in the theater this year, Spiderman 2 (pleasantly surprised), Sky Capt.(worse movie I've seen in a long time), and Supersize Me(very insightful, but at the same time pretty depressing) People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world.
