kumquatq3 Posted July 27, 2004 Posted July 27, 2004 Shows that didn't last long, but were great. My favorite 2 shows that came and went were: Keen Eddie and Andy Richter controls the universe.
Phosphor Posted July 27, 2004 Posted July 27, 2004 What counts as "not long"? At any rate, the following: Firefly Wonderfalls Farscape (yeah, four seasons, plus a new miniseries, but dammit that's not long enough!)
Arkan Posted July 27, 2004 Posted July 27, 2004 Family Guy Futurama "Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger." - Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials "I have also been slowly coming to the realisation that knowledge and happiness are not necessarily coincident, and quite often mutually exclusive" - meta
mr insomniac Posted July 27, 2004 Posted July 27, 2004 Twin Peaks I took this job because I thought you were just a legend. Just a story. A story to scare little kids. But you're the real deal. The demon who dares to challenge God. So what the hell do you want? Don't seem to me like you're out to make this stinkin' world a better place. Why you gotta kill all my men? Why you gotta kill me? Nothing personal. It's just revenge.
oherror Posted July 27, 2004 Posted July 27, 2004 Family GuyFuturama i second that. they were both damn funny.
Iolo Posted July 27, 2004 Posted July 27, 2004 Isn't Family Guy back on Cartoon Network with new episodes?
Leferd Posted July 27, 2004 Posted July 27, 2004 Sports Night and in second place by a large margin: Firefly "Things are funny...are comedic, because they mix the real with the absurd." - Buzz Aldrin."P-O-T-A-T-O-E" - Dan Quayle
Oerwinde Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 Isn't Family Guy back on Cartoon Network with new episodes? New episodes to air on Fox in 2005. Unless they don't want to air them. Then Cartoon Network said they would. Anyway, TV Shows I liked that didn't last long: Deadly Games Roar(They only aired the first 7 episodes of the 13 episode season.) Futurama Family Guy Invader Zim Can't think of any more right now. The area between the balls and the butt is a hotbed of terrorist activity.
Iolo Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 I see Futurama on this list but it still lasted 5 seasons with 72 episodes. That's better than most shows do and certainly more than Firefly, Family Guy and many others that people mentioned here. http://www.tvtome.com/Futurama/eplist.html Angel and Ally McBeal both only lasted 5 seasons although Ally at the end was no longer as good. I will miss Angel.
Iolo Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 Roar(They only aired the first 7 episodes of the 13 episode season.) And it had Heath Ledger in it before his film career took off.
Phosphor Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 The Lone Gunmen. That should have been given a better chance. Birds Of Prey. Yeah, it was dead cheesey but it was fun. It seems that all I have to do is think of the television shows I like... They all get cancelled.
Child of Flame Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 Angel, Family Guy, Birds of Prey, Futurama, Most of Tech TV.
Oerwinde Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 Roar(They only aired the first 7 episodes of the 13 episode season.) And it had Heath Ledger in it before his film career took off. He was good too. The area between the balls and the butt is a hotbed of terrorist activity.
Fionavar Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 Harsh Realm ... this I thought was going to be a brilliant show ... turns out it never really had a shot :? The universe is change; your life is what our thoughts make it - Marcus Aurelius (161)
tripleRRR Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 Firefly. TripleRRR Using a gamepad to control an FPS is like trying to fight evil through maple syrup.
deganawida Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 Greg the Bunny, starring Seth Green and Eugene Levy. Oh, and Millenium gets a vote from me, as well.
Phosphor Posted July 29, 2004 Posted July 29, 2004 Millenium, Firefly, and Doctor Who. There is a new Doctor Who series starting up. The show started in 1963, and it's still going (albeit after a lengthy break), so I'd hardly call it a show that didn't last. I missed Millenium; it ran during the time I didn't have cable, and I've never caught any re-runs.
Squire Henry Posted July 29, 2004 Posted July 29, 2004 Fawlty Towers. Only 12 half-hour episodes were made.
Judge Hades Posted July 29, 2004 Posted July 29, 2004 Millenium, Firefly, and Doctor Who. There is a new Doctor Who series starting up. The show started in 1963, and it's still going (albeit after a lengthy break), so I'd hardly call it a show that didn't last. I missed Millenium; it ran during the time I didn't have cable, and I've never caught any re-runs. Doctor WHo can never last long enough. It must be ETERNAL!
Wally Martin Posted July 29, 2004 Posted July 29, 2004 I'm going to have to second The Lone Gunmen. I wish it had gone longer. Also, Dark Angel and The Oblongs. And Alf. Definitely Alf.
kumquatq3 Posted July 29, 2004 Author Posted July 29, 2004 The Oblongs. great little show! I bet they couldn't afford to keep Will Farrel (sp?)
the_original_911 Posted July 29, 2004 Posted July 29, 2004 its obviously greg the bunny adn Titus though i dont know how long that lasted Both were absolutely hilarious
