Gothic Remake makes sense to me - it is a very unique game that had a lot of ideas which stood test of time, but is also dated to the point that I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Live with movies not all Remakes are bad, though they can be cashgrabs. I have a soft spot for Piranha Bytes. They made unique games with progression that I liked, though the stories tended to be ... to weird for me. Elex was a good janky game, and I agree Elex 2 was a mess. Liked Risen, never did Gothic. So I have hopes for this remake and hope it will get the same remake-acclaim that Resident Evil 4 did. 1 1
Sven_ Posted February 28 Posted February 28 (edited) Monster Hunter Wilds is the next game to break through the 1,000,000 concurrent player mark on Steam. Every major publisher currently be like: Nonstop action+monsters is clearly THE way to go. "Guys, please make this project more like Diablo, er, MH Wilds, or else no funds!" Warhorse+Larian+Owlcat like this. Edited February 28 by Sven_ 1
melkathi Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Kotor 1&2 mobile versions are free in the epic mobile app. Unobtrusively informing you about my new ebook (which you should feel free to read and shower with praise).
HoonDing Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Good thing Capcom is not a major publisher. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
Lexx Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Can anyone remember that one cut companion of either PoE1 or PoE2 that Josh posted about a long time ago? It was a female soldier in plate armor with an arquebus. I forgot the name and was wondering if we ever found out more about this character. Always loved the concept art. "only when you no-life you can exist forever, because what does not live cannot die."

Lexx Posted March 3 Posted March 3 (edited) Nice. In hindsight now, Cadegund kinda reminds me of Xoti. Especially that hood with the hair sticking out in that concept art. And in my last playthrough, she was wearing a breastplate and I gave her the Thundercrack Pistol while keeping her lantern in the off-hand. I thought that was kinda fitting. Amentep Posted Thursday at 05:09 PM Posted Thursday at 05:09 PM Old thread: I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man
Wormerine Posted Thursday at 09:48 PM Posted Thursday at 09:48 PM Hey another Styx. Happy to see it, I liked previews two games a lot, though if I remember it correctly the last one felt like it ended short. 1

HoonDing Posted Friday at 01:29 PM Posted Friday at 01:29 PM I like Triumph Studios. They're Dutch version of Larian, except that they never made it big. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
melkathi Posted Friday at 06:16 PM Posted Friday at 06:16 PM (edited) Meaning they also can't write a good story? Seriously, Triumph's writing got worse with each game. It peaked in badness with Planetfall though, so I think they are a bit embarrassed that AoW4 has returned to AoW3 levels of writing. AoW4 is shaping up to becoming a good game. It is a shame it needed so many DLC for it though. edit: The News: KCD2 releases on GOG on 28th March. HoonDing Posted Friday at 06:33 PM Posted Friday at 06:33 PM I never went beyond AoW 2. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
MrBrown Posted Friday at 06:36 PM Posted Friday at 06:36 PM Is there any reason to play the AoW games if you just auto-resolve the combat? Planetfall is the only one I played and I did that, and it was pretty boring.
melkathi Posted Friday at 08:21 PM Posted Friday at 08:21 PM Not really. The combat is the series strong point. So if you don't enjoy it, skip the games entirely. I mean, obviously you auto-resolve the sure fights that would just waste your time, but you should be playing the "fun" and "challenging" ones for the fun of it. I find myself auto-resolving more in AoW4. Unobtrusively informing you about my new ebook (which you should feel free to read and shower with praise).
