February 29, 20241 yr This is a bit sick. I read just an article about the comic artist Romona Fradon (being recently deceased), and the site populates a 'You might also like...' section full of other celebrity deaths.

March 8, 20241 yr RIP. I remember first reading about Toriyama in Manga! Manga! The World of Japanese Comics. He was then mostly known in 1983 when it was published for "Dr. Slump" and was just starting out. I think the entry might have mentioned him launching Dragonball in passing as it would have launched the same year Manga! Manga! did. So imagine my surprise years later to see the popularity of DragonBall and his character designs in video games when they started hitting here not knowing what a phenom he'd become. I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man

June 20, 20241 yr I just watched Klute not that long ago, too. RIP. Quote Against stupidity we have no defense. Neither protests nor force can touch it. Reasoning is of no use. Facts that contradict personal prejudices can simply be disbelieved - indeed, the fool can counter by criticizing them, and if they are undeniable, they can just be pushed aside as trivial exceptions. So the fool, as distinct from the scoundrel, is completely self-satisfied. In fact, they can easily become dangerous, as it does not take much to make them aggressive. For that reason, greater caution is called for than with a malicious one. Never again will we try to persuade the stupid person with reasons, for it is senseless and dangerous.
June 20, 20241 yr Despite everything he did for years I recognised him mostly from Kate Bush's video for Cloudbusting. (From the same album as 'Running up that Hill' from Stranger Things, which I imagine a lot of people would be familiar with)
