No thats not a reason or concern to cut Russia out of SWIFT. Cyber warfare is normal for Russia and they have their own form of " SWIFT " But to get banks frozen out of SWIFT is complicated because its a private sector institution and you first need sanctions on the banks that would be frozen and then the banks have to be in breach of those sanctions to justify not being able to use SWIFT Thats how they did it with the Iranian banks when they were frozen out of SWIFT But it can be done, its a process. But the concern is not because of fear from Russian hackers Edited February 24, 2022 by BruceVC "Abashed the devil stood and felt how awful goodness is and saw Virtue in her shape how lovely: and pined his loss” John Milton "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” - George Bernard Shaw "What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. Now, 10 hours after begin of the invasion, we see russian helicopters over kiev. We've seen similar already recently in the armenia conflict - the country defenses get disabled in hours. Yes, there are some "wins" right now, but that really doesn't mean anything yet. The wave of soldiers and ground forces has yet to come... It gives me a really odd feeling, because if there ever would be a conflict involving german territory again, it will be mere hours till hostile forces are in berlin. Yeah, they took Hostomel airfield just northwest of Kiev in a a helicopter raid and lost two. Kharkiv is pretty hot right now. Other places sees the Ukrainian borders guards retreating into the cities to join up with the army, probably to draw the Russians into well defended postions. https://www.pravda.com.ua/news/2022/02/24/7325424/ 1 There used to be a signature here, a really cool one...and now it's gone. Yes but I am explaining the process of how you freeze financial institutions, not countries, out of SWIFT And as far as I know the SWIFT " punishment " was only ever used against Iranian banks and its a complicated process. Im not comparing the two situations because they the same "Abashed the devil stood and felt how awful goodness is and saw Virtue in her shape how lovely: and pined his loss” John Milton "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” - George Bernard Shaw "What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. Pidesco
As far as assymetric war is concerned, I guess the Ukrainians can throw up a fight, but they won't exactly be the Mujaheddin fighting in very rugged terrain with Rambo's infinite ammo helping out. The rain in Ukraine falls mainly in the plain because that is almost the entire terrain. 1 "My hovercraft is full of eels!" - Hungarian touristI am Dan Quayle of the Romans.I want to tattoo a map of the Netherlands on my nether lands.Heja Sverige!!Everyone should cuffawkle more. The wrench is your friend. ComradeYellow
Not to mention Ukies do in fact have closer ethnic and historical ties to the Ruskies so not a simple case of white colonialist Americans "civilizing" brown skinned heathens halfway across the world. I mean yes, many Ukies are Westernized but I think this fact could ultimately win out in the end in Russia's favor.

The rain in Ukraine falls mainly in the plain because that is almost the entire terrain. Ukraine has no real prospects of defeating Russia militarily so then guerilla warfare is an option once Russia occupies Ukraine but I was reading how the geography doesn't lead to this and then the culture of the Ukrainians is not the same as the militant groups that fought an insurgency in Iraq against the US in 2003 and onwards Its easier for Ukrainians to leave Ukraine or accept the reality but wait for the sanctions and economic punitive steps to get Putin to reverse what he has done. No point getting killed against a clearly stronger army unless its existential and you have no choice like in the Soviet Afghan war with the Mujahideen But the point is I dont see Ukrainians defeating Russia through normal or asymmetric warfare? Chilloutman
I don't understand what Russia is gaining by fighting for Chernobyl... I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice.
