Sometimes, when you can't it makes you want. I still like reading but my hands/thumbs no longer like the "book claw" position so it's difficult to read for long, thus it's hard for me to get into/finish them. I could use hardcovers but then I need reading glasses and a book holder (so I don't get a crick in my neck) etc. Same for ebooks/tablet, really, so I haven't bothered with ebooks yet. Guard Dog
Sunny is a sweet dog. But she is dumber than a box of crayons. She has lived here for seven years now. And after all that time she still does not know that the front door and back door lead to the same house. If she goes out the back door and ends up in the front yard she will walk all the way around the house to come back in through the back door. If I stand in the front door with it open and call her she will run all the way around to the back door to come in. 1 1 "While it is true you learn with age, the down side is what you often learn is what a damn fool you were before" Thomas Sowell
Gfted1
One of my kittens (Lola) must have tried to eat a wasp and got stung in her upper lip. I noticed that she was acting weird (and her sister Evie was doting over her) so I went to take a look and her top left lip was hilariously swollen. I held her for a little while and pet her until she calmed down. Around 90 minutes later the swelling was gone like it never happened. 3 "I'm your biggest fan, Ill follow you until you love me, Papa"

Gorth
I hurt my big toe a few weeks ago... nothing broken, but very painful. It split the tissue as well as dislodged the nail. Yeah, ouch But, it eventually grew a little less painful and I could walk around again, even if limping badly on my right leg. Then about a week ago, my toe suddenly started hurting again. As did the rest of my body. Then came the fever and completely knocked me out last weekend. Could do nothing, just lying on top of my bed, shivering like a puppy, unable to get warm. First I though, crap, Covid? Now? They ain't no covid near where I live Since I didn't sleep at all for 48 hours, I eventually crashed completely Monday, slept until evening. Noticed a faint red rash on my lower leg, but fell asleep again and woke up Tuesday around 11am. Now the rash was gone. Instead my foot had swollen up and my leg had turned an unhealthy red and purple from the knee down. Besides the ugly scenery, the pain was excruciating, like someone hammering nails into the thing flesh on your lower leg and the skin feeling waaaay too tight for my leg. Yeah, time to call the doctor and see if I could get an appointment. He was out of town though, so couldn't get him to check if before Thursday. He spent a lot of time telling me off for not going to hospital straight away And then he sent me off to the hospital. Currently eating some 500mg whatever antibiotics 4 times a day. Apparently I cut it a bit close before it turned septic and lethal. The stuff seems to work now, pain is less excruciating today and some of the purple at least seems to have receded. All because of a stupid little toe injury. 3 1 “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. Guard Dog
It's been near three weeks since I last left the house. Other than to get the mail but that really doesn't count. Fionavar
Cool down is happening here in the centre of North America. Its impact has not been one of a little toe injury and Im very surprised you did not go to a doctor sooner ....why you would put yourself through such an ordeal is beyond me but the most important point is you did finally go to the doctor but you did seem to leave it to the last minute , for example there must be other doctors you can see if your doctor is unavailable. I also have a view around "preferred doctor " but I would not wait for something this serious At our age Gorthfuscious its not worth the potential issue or possible physiological damage to ignore this type of health problem "Abashed the devil stood and felt how awful goodness is and saw Virtue in her shape how lovely: and pined his loss” John Milton "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” - George Bernard Shaw "What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. I must've hit the top button accidentally at some point (making the alarm functional) and a low battery was making the beep really sound weird/unrecognizable.
