Which game are you looking forward to?

Nothing, and these days more often than not I just randomly encounter or hear about and play/try something. I don't keep up with game news enough or like most game trends enough to really look forward to stuff. So I rely on some post-release gameplay videos and random luck.

You the first person I have ever met  on any forum who knows Boney M. Its amazing how we can  have things in common with people that you chat to  on a forum like this that are not just about gaming and politics

Hehe, yeah any group that was internationally big in the 70s or 80s is in my collection. A lot of Cliff Richard, and among US groups definitely John Denver, and also Leo Sayer, Simon & Garfunkel, and so many more. Maybe we should start a 70s and 80s international rock/pop music thread.

As for life in the US, I definitely cannot complain as I have had a very successful career and am financially in great shape. And especially since many of the kids I went to school with are sadly no more, killed in the war years in one way or the other. That could just as easily have been my fate. But I have wondered if I would want to come and live here if I were a young kid today. The answer is definitely not the resounding 'yes' from my youth. I know this will upset some people here, but the US I arrived at in '86 was so much a better place than the US I'm living in right now. Materially, things are much better today of course. But morally, spiritually, and especially socially, not so much imho.

My favorites were "Rivers of Babylon," "Brown Girl in the Ring," and "Malaikka" (sp?). Never did care for Rasputin myself. I just liked the songs that have a lot of Caribbean steel drums because I love that sound.

Sorry. I think they're trying to cover the range of different types of games here. The WotC guy even suggested they were open to strategy games based on D&D. And I think the classic iso RPG type is supposed to be covered by BG3.

Personally, though I also prefer party-based isometric cRPGs, a game like what Hidden Path may be working on could be great if they're doing something similar to the Witcher games: third-person open world game where you're playing a specific character (like Geralt). I would LOVE to be able to play Elminster or Storm Silverhand or Erevis Cale, or my all-time favorite Forgotten Realms character: Khelben "The Blackstaff" Arunsen!!

Barely looking forward to anything, unless we are counting games with no release date.  There is that one Australian fallout type game that looks intriguing, but don't know a release date for that either

Well, I just do not like open world in an AAA sense of gameplay. I get bored after few quests, because very, very few developers can make openworld engaging and interesting. And unfortunately, with the drastic changes to Volo's Guide to the Realms which are removing a lot of well known lore, I have my doubts about the storytelling as well. I am just happy, that Solasta was released before the Great Purge. My favourite races in D&D and Pathfinder were always the Underdark / Darklands, and I loved the intrigue behind these societies of pure evil, and with my Svirfneblin characters, I loved to wreak chaos in them, as a byproduct of personal revenge of my nation being enslaved by these evildoers... Unfortunately most recent changes to these nations and races made the purposes of Svirfneblins and also Duergars (my first choice of race, when I want to play an evil ****) how I enjoyed them most, completely obsolete...

You cant be serious? I am not use to you being so morbid and cynical. ELEX 2 is going to be epic and its highly anticipated by all lovers of the PB style of RPG 

But you forgetting BG3, Dying Light 2, Elden Ring, Final Fantasy Origin, Company of Heroes 3 and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide to name  a few plus DA4 

And I am sure their will be loads of JRPG that are coming?

Final fantasy sounds like an overpriced cashgrab by a company that decided to make its business model nostalgia exploitation.

BG3 is an old IP with nostalgia value slapped onto a Larian game.

Darktide is a Vermintide reskin.

Melkie please dont cross and start shouting  but whats with you liberals\socialists and how you guys are so ....jaded about gaming? (I keed, I keed. Im just joking  because a lack  of gaming interest has nothing to do with our political views . But thanks for raising that point with me on another thread because I dont want to be someone who always seems to think everything is about the other side ...so I am working on that in the political thread )
