Keyrock
I scooped up the Sherlock Holmes Collection from Stream's Autumn Sale. It has 6 of the older Frogwares Sherlock games. It was $4 so worst case scenario is that I wasted the money to buy a burger. Tale
Disco Elysium, Master Chief Collection, Choice of the Deathless (found out it was written by Max Gladstone, author of Empress of Forever), and Heaven Will Be Mine. HWBM is an english language visual novel that's apparently about giant robots, the future of humanity, and... queer romance? Sounds quirky and fun enough I've been eyeing it. 1 "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."

Keyrock
I scooped up Shadow of the Torture Porn Raider and Dishonored during the Steam Winter sale. The first purchase plus completing some of the activities gave me enough tokens to get the $5 discount which made the second purchase nearly free. I still haven't even played through Rise of the Torture Porn Raider, I'll do that once I run through Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. Hopefully Rise is better than Torture Porn Raider (2013). I'm mostly interested in playing Shadow, since I heard people complaining that it didn't have enough Lara murdering and too much puzzling and platforming for their tastes, which made it sound like it would be more up my alley, since I'm all about puzzle platforming and not that into Lara murdering 500 Russians or whoever it winds up being in Shadow. I mean, I'm sure I'll still wind up having to murder a whole bunch of people, Lara's bloodthirst is nigh unquenchable, I just hope it's not quite as many. Lorfean
Resident Evil 2 (remake), Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Shadow of the Tomb Raider. @Keyrock I finished Rise of the Tomb Raider yesterday and, honestly, I don't see the whole torture porn angle you keep referring to. I might see how a case can be made for the first game crossing into that category, but Rise literally has one scene (the one you posted a screenshot of in the other thread) where Lara is physically assaulted while captured and tied to a chair, and I didn't think it was gratuitous -- considering the captor's motivation and end goal (see spoiler below) I'm surprised he didn't permanently cripple or outright kill her. But of course that would have meant the end of the game. *shrug* That said, yes, there is indeed way too much combat in Rise of the Tomb Raider and I am also looking forward to Shadow, which, from all accounts, focuses more on exploration and puzzle-solving. Wormerine
So I finally broke, installed Origin and bought overpriced Mass Effect 2 DLCs for my steam version of ME2. As I was there, I also finally bought ME3 and it's DLCs (I played my friend's copy on launch). Two things. For everyone complaining about Epic Store (they are not wrong): so far I had far worse experience with Origin - I even had to reinstall the bloody thing, to get the DLCs download properly. Point 2 - now I know why DLCs are so overpirced. ME3 is even more garbage, then I remember so I wanted to refund it, but EA doesn't offer the refunds for DLCs, which were a far more expensive part of the purchase. Shame one me. Get lost EA. Back to ignoring you for another 10 years.
213374U
Yeah, it has been that way with DLC for Bioware's games since even before Origin was a thing. At least now you can purchase them, overpriced* as they may be, for an actual dollar amount. Back when they used "Bioware points", you had to buy bundles which were sized such that you'd always be either short by a bit, or have points in excess for whatever DLC you were interested in. Evidently, there were no refunds for points bundles, either. That was shady as hell. I wonder to what extent the price is dictated or influenced by Bioware and their previous pricing scheme. *Currently the complete DLC bundle goes for ~10€, which seems reasonable. However that seems to be 66% off, meaning the regular price is about 30€ -- absurd. I don't know if it's a sale or something, or it's a result of the Origin Access sub (which I got free from some promo...). - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast. I don't know if it's a sale or something, or it's a result of the Origin Access sub (which I got free from some promo...). Yes, I know. The first time I had a "pleasure" of interacting with a DLC was Dragon Age. I paid about 10 quid for each DLC pack during the sale (for ME2 and ME3), though considering the base game was being sold for 3 quid it still seemed like extortion - for an almost 10 years old games, I would hope to be able to buy one package. Still, it is not something I am butthurt about. Not being able to refund the DLCs with the game is just a noob trap - I assume an average player like me will buy entire package to start with. Oh well, I am in the process of modding ME3 so it's less vomit inducing. ME1 has a better presentation then ME3, not to mention the gameplay limitations (can't even holster my weapon now????). I feel sorry for the folks who worked on that game. Moving from ME1&ME2 to ME3 feels like teenage fanfiction. I forgot about everyone getting significant breast enlargement surgery before the Reaper attack. Oh, and space being used for everything you can imagine, making Shepard to exactly not what you want him to at any given time.
Lorfean
DA:O was the first time they actually did DLC, wasn't it? Not counting the NWN Premium Modules, I guess... Looking back at that, their DLC practices were shady from the get-go, really. Putting the only unique / non-humanoid companion in the game (Shale / The Stone Prisoner) and the return to a key location from the start of the game (Return to Ostagar) behind a pay wall... I never bought or played ME3 because of the launch day DLC shenanigans. Sounds like I made the right call and didn't miss much. Loved 1 and 2 though, and sometimes consider getting them on Steam when they're on sale, as my Origin account is long gone. How well do they hold up? Keyrock
I scooped up the Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate Bonus bundle (that's a mouth full) on Steam. The game also has like 8 bajillion dollars worth of DLC for it, I have no clue how much of that, if any, comes with this bundle. Anyway, the game had some ridiculous number of playable characters, like 100, or an equally ludicrous number, so I'm sure to find my ideal waifu or husbando in there somewhere with which to hilariously murder giant groups of enemy soldiers in spectacular fashion.
