SonicMage117 Posted September 9, 2018 Posted September 9, 2018 (edited) I never finished it but I think that was only because I had a few other games I was playing at the time. There was alot to like about the game, the combat and character designs though I found the overall art to be lacking. McFarlane did a good job if putting in small details that no other rpg still yet care to include. That much is true. Am personally very much looking forward to the new game, hoping the art is similar to Darksiders 3-ish. Whether a card game, a mobile game, an mmo or a single player action/rpg, I trust it will be well done, for THQ Nordic does great things with ip's. SonicMage117 Posted September 9, 2018 Posted September 9, 2018 Made with the highest-quality parts, plays NES, SNES, SEGA Genesis, Sega Saturn, Neo Geo, Turbo Graphix, and more. It's the ultimate wet dream for the nostalgic gamer. Plays cartridges and cd's. More info in the video: That said, I cannot see this being successful for the likes of having such a nostalgic base. The irony is that there is a large community for nostalgic games but nobody wants to try something new to play something old. Even when emulators are always trash, gamers typically want the cheap way lol In that we see the swift poetic justice of the egostrigic hypocrisy. Just what do you think you're doing?! Serrano Posted September 9, 2018 Posted September 9, 2018 Nintendo NES Mini, and Nintendo SNES Mini, would like to have a word with you... Only a limited number of each were produced though. Sure, it looked good that demand outweighed (the very limited as I remember it) supply but I'm not sure how much of a market there really is for dinosaur bones era videogames. The big advantages to the minis though is that they had roms pre-installed right? How many gamers could get hold of the games they want to play on the polymega? I guess all the rights and defunct developers and publisher rule out offial roms of most games over the last few decades which is kind of sad but still, this type of thing has to be a very niche product.
Mamoulian War Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 NES Mini sold 3.6 million copies in under 6 months. A single machine which can play more than 1 type of cartridges is less niche product than 4x space strategy games. There are lots of collectors. EMU scene has its boom on Twitch. And there are still games made for some old school game systems. 1 Sent from my Stone Tablet, using Chisel-a-Talk 2000BC. Raithe Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 With the latest Tomb Raider coming out, I'm finding myself amused by the "as this forges Lara into the Tomb Raider she is destined to be" taglines to it. They reboot the series and then take 3 entire games titled "Tomb Raider" to actually turn her into Tomb Raider. "Tomb Raider - As this starts her journey.... Rise of the Tomb Raider - As her journey continues..... Shadow of the Tomb Raider - As she finally becomes..." "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum."
Malcador Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 Not sure if Shadow is the best fit, but nothing better immediately comes to mind. Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra
SonicMage117 Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 (edited) I found that odd too, coming from someone who really enjoys the new Tomb Raider games. My gripe with Rise was that it was way too similar to the first - even if everything was improved upon. It "almost" frlt unneeded because it was so similar. Shadow isn't really similar at all, actually it seems closer to Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell in some respects. I'm glad the trilogy has come to the end. I'm also glad old-school raidomg and exploration is back. I hope now that the new ones move forward into a more experienced Lara (years into her future) or maybe the next game will be a prequel to before she started her journey to become the Tomb Raider. I'd be happy with that as well. Edited September 10, 2018 by SonicMage117 Just what do you think you're doing?! You dare to come between me and my prey? SonicMage117 Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 "Of the year" Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't count, won't be released for another couple years (if everyone is right in speculation), maybe even more. By then something more popular will come out and outsell Cyberpunk 2077, i.e Elder Scrolls VI and such. Just what do you think you're doing?! You dare to come between me and my prey? Its EA, there are lootboxes inside lootboxes 2 I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"

I'm not quite sure what they think they will achieve (aside from damaging whatever was left of their reputation). If they lose, they lose. If they win, they lose because the law will just get changed to close whatever messed up interpretation loophole they come up with given how our Minister of Justice has already spoken out against lootboxes. And back-pedalling on things that affect children. Yeah, not a good career move as a politician, not even in an otherwise apathetic country like Belgium. If they manage to tick off the minister enough this might just be the spark we need to get this put front-center on the agenda in the EU and then hopefully explicitly banned across the EU. Heh, one can dream. 1

It's what makes me stand out from the others and notably makes me unloved. I'm okay with this, nobody from the forum is keeping my bed warm at night #SonicMageOnARampage Edited September 11, 2018 by SonicMage117 Just what do you think you're doing?! You dare to come between me and my prey? Is it a habit of yours to scurry about, getting in the way and causing bother? What are you still bothering me for? I'm a Knight. I'm not interested in your childish games. I need my rest. Begone! Lest I draw my nail...

injurai Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 (edited) Already looks to be better than the rpg's that released this year. Looking forward to it! Reminds me of Deep Down, with some Dragon's Dogma and Dark Souls mixed in. Edit: Throw in some Monster Hunter too. Edited September 11, 2018 by injurai 1
213374U Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 There are loot boxes in FIFA?! Madden, too. Thanks to Ultimate Team, the mode that contains lootboxes ("packs" as they are called in-game), FIFA is the single biggest item in revenue for EA, to the tune of some $800M per year in in-game purchases. This has been EA's bread and butter for some time now. Its EA, there are lootboxes inside lootboxes Heh. I'm not sure if you're joking, but if you aren't a SWTOR player, you are blissfully unaware of "Chance Cubes", which are literal lootboxes inside your lootboxes. Xzibit would be proud. 4 - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast.
