POE1 History Maker - never finished POE1 (Spoil me badly!)

Could you explain some of choices in POE1 history maker?

I need info on:

Kana ending

White March stuff

Dragon stuff

Animancy outlawed or not

Grieving Mother ending

Defiance bay

Stuff in that village where Grieving Mother was recruited.

basically most stuff

I want peaceful and kind history, where Devil was killed by villagers, Eder became a Mayor, Aloth didn't joined Leaden Key, Pellegina obeyed the duc, I supported the Crucible Knights, etc... I wish to pledge to all the gods.

That is a lot of ground to cover. I suggest starting here.

Also: Pallegina obeying the ducs is absolutely not the peaceful and kind thing to do. It screws over the Dyrwood dramatically, something you know will happen at the time of doing it.

If I'm typing in red, it means I'm being sarcastic. But not this time.

Dark green, on the other hand, is for jokes and irony in general.

Pledging to all the gods is not peaceful and kind. They have different wills and you cannot satisfy them all. Not only is it irresponsible to make impossible promises and they will take revenge on innocents if you betray them, they also don't all want peaceful and kind things to begin with. Rymrgand, Ondra and Skaen want you to destroy the souls of the Hollowborn. Galawain, Magran and Abydon want you to feed them to the rest of the Dyrwood. Berath wants you to return them to her Wheel to be reborn (which is the most popular choice and also what normally happens to souls).

Peaceful and kind would be supporting Hylea, who wants you to return the souls to their intended bodies.

There is a Benevolent Soul premade history already :)

There is a benevolent pre-made save, which generally goes with the kind /benevolent options, but I think it's also a bit of the "nicest for the player" pre-made save, because you get Vela (who you have to kidnap to have) in that one and Pallegina is fine because you helped the trade deal (that's bad for the Dyrwood) go through.

And of course there's a strong argument to be made that Galawain's somewhat weird suggestion is the only one that legitimately makes the best of a bad situation, because PoE did a good job of remembering that "peaceful and kind" does not necessarily translate to, "has weighed the costs and benefits of a decision."

Actually, according to poll here, the most popular choice is Hylea - which IS kind of kind (all things consider), and the second most popular Galawain (why so many people want to support Dyrwood so much is a mystery).

But Benevolent Premade is truly the nicest you can get NPC-wise, just use it.

I have a feeling Hylea’s popularity’s grown exponentially since she picked up baking ;)

I was thinking of the Twitter poll Obsidian posted before release, as an indicator of how the history creator would look. As I recall, Berath was a more popular choice there than all the others combined. Are we talking about the same poll? I mean, I can totally see people changing their minds knowing what the rewards are.

Edit: Also, all my characters feel like Caed Nua is a damn nice place to call home and I'd better make sure the Dyrwood prospers so that I could prosper with it. Half my Watchers were happy to take any chance at solving Twin Elms quests with violence.

Sadly most of this stuff has little or no impact on Pillars 2. Killing the dragon results in literally one line where someone calls you a dragonslayer. The White March stuff mostly just leads to you getting a special cannon for your ship. Grieving Mother was never mentioned in my playthrough. Animancy trial I don't recall having any impact or ever even being brought up.

Kana, if you were reasonably nice and kept him alive, can show up at some point. It's kind of poignant if you have Maia (his sister) in your party. But since you never played Pillars 1 you probably won't get much out of it either way.

I opposed animancy and it was outlawed, but the animancers in Neketaka don't seem to care much.

As for pledging to all gods in a kind and peaceful history, well... no offense, but it would be more like a kind, peaceful and dumb history. The gods may not know or care when you are one of their priests, but they certainly do when you break a promise. And most people in Eora would either be afraid of them or  at least understand that they can be dangerous,

I think the main difference between the Hylea ending and the Galawain one is when their effects take place. For Hylea the benevolence of that choice is immediately apparent and provides the most "warm fuzzies" while the Galawain ending is an overall future (and ultimately most fair) benefit to the Dyrwood as a whole.

I find it extremely interesting that the "kidnap Vela" history is lumped into the benevolent pre-made. That would imply that the developers consider that kidnapping was ultimately the best (see as good) choice to make. That's just extremely interesting to me...

In a discussion in another thread most people seemed to be unaware of the option to leave her with another family. So it was considered, at least by many players, as the most benevolent choice.

Just because you brutally murder Simoc and his "top warriors" doesn't mean that no one is going to raise Vela to take over the Three-Tusk clan.
