  1. I feel sorry for the surgeon who had to give fire godlikes their facelifts. That must have stung.
  2. Traditional IE game formula. I can think of CRPGs that have had 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 party members just off the top of my head, and I suspect given some more time I could find some other integers.
  3. I think part of the reason is there are a hundred different things that fans want/don't want, so Obsidian have to be incredibly cautious about making changes based on fan pressure or risk opening the floodgates. After all, if I want to change X, and I see Obsidian cave to pressure to change Y, I am going to assume pressure will make them change X as well. Very soon we have design by committee which, as we all know, is totally the best way to design things
  4. You mean his other "staff"
  5. It won't truly become Diablo III unless the story is so truly awful that your mind refuses to accept that it's real and invents another in its place.
  6. I would argue that your rats are your muscles
  7. I think I share your CON malus. I seem to get injured all the time. Now that you say it, your avatar does have a pretty prominent brow, and all your class builds are suspiciously effective...
  8. Maybe when he was 100kg, but at 85kg I think he's lost the +2 Might necessary for it (I say this as someone who's 1.97m and 95kg and definitely doesn't have the +2 Might)
  9. Which, to my mind, is an improvement over the current state of affairs. If the idea of adding more reactivity to spell casting works (the enemy casts a certain spell and you need to cast a counter to it) this will bring spell casting closer to the sort of "wizards duel" idea that a lot of people like, and go a long way towards overcoming the fear that pure per encounter spells will result in a fixed casting order for every fight.
  10. 1.9m? But you're an Orlan (with a perculiarly well groomed beard), you can't possibly be 1.9m.
  11. Oh I understand. Chances are, in my first playthrough at least, Aloth will remain a pure Wizard for me and I doubt I'll ever make him a Wizard/Barbarian as it just feels wrong to my mind, but I certainly don't want Obsidian to enforce this sort of restriction. It was the same in PoE. I never had Sagani wear armour that wasn't either leather or hide because these armour types just seemed right to me given her background, but I wouldn't want Obsidian to have forbidden her from wearing plate say, because if someone else finds giving her plate fun then why should I care.
  12. My guess is Obsidian decided that two islands was the minimum worth including, so that's their starting point. After all, it wouldn't be much of a voyage if it was just one island. That's just a guess though.
  13. Ah that makes sense. Well assuming all of the investments go through that's a pretty impressive amount of money the campaign has raised so far. If the last few days manages to raise a sum similar to the first few it seems almost inevitable that Deadfire will raise more than Project Eternity did, and of course Deadfire probably has money invested in it already from the success of Pillars. Obviously money alone doesn't guarantee a better game, but it still makes me pretty optimistic.
  14. It's an interesting change, though it'll need to balanced carefully to make it effective but also avoid it being hugely frustrating. If executed well though, this could add quite a bit of tactical thinking to when to cast spells. It might no longer be the case that you want to immediately cast your best spells at the start of combat, nor cast a new spell immediately after finishing the previous one. This will also make fast cast spells like Wizards Double more appealing as they should be harder to interrupt and should hopefully provide some protection against interruption for the next cast. It fits well with Obsidian's desire to make AI scale to difficulty too, in that at higher levels the AI could actively make enemy archers switch to target spell casters who are casting spells whilst on lower levels they may not.
  15. This one is more reasonable that Obsidian paying for me to rent some office space, though still beyond what will probably be released. I'd love to see the Monk/Cipher multiclass have Reaping Knives as their default weapon. Obviously not as powerful as Reaping Knives are in PoE (at least not at low level) but I like the idea that the unarmed class, when combined with the Cipher would generate a sort of innate unarmed soul weapon.
  16. What does this mean exactly? Does it mean that there is around $800k of investment that has to be checked/agreed upon?
  17. I am fairly certain that, just like in PoE, Aloth will have exactly the same body shape as every other elf in the game, with only his face distinguishing him from others (and in the case of Aloth, I don't even think he had a unique face). Also if you think Aloth should be a pure Wizard then, as far as I understand it, you will be able to level him as a pure Wizard. Multiclassing is not, as far as I am aware, obligatory.
  18. Cold resist. Resolution 3 is absolutely great if you can reliable avoid anything ever attacking your Cipher (and after level 15 when you can use Defensive Mindweb to make your whole party super tanky). Personally I don't like dumping stats as low as 3, so I might consider something like 14/8/16/16/16/8 For a versatile build. At level 15 you might want to respect since Defensive Mindweb is so powerful. Any particular reason you've chosen Aloth, Edér and Durance as your companions?
  19. I am not opposed to this idea. Chanters are obviously powerful, but I don't particularly enjoy them. Unless I am mistaken, one of the ideas behind the Chanter was that it would have a fairly passive combat style. Would people prefer to see that remain the case or is that part of the problem with the class in your view?
  20. I'll have you know getting money out of me is like getting blood from a stone, and not one of those creepy looking stones that bleed type stones, a regularly work a day non-bleeding stone like granite.
  21. I dunno, I am fairly certain this was worn by basically everyone back in Scythia
  22. I like the art style in PoE a lot and am happy for it to remain consistent in PoE2. I don't get it, could you explain it in more detail?
