  1. Bingo! I've said before, if Obsidian had come to me and asked "what should be the limit on party size" with no additional information, I would have answered "six" because six seemed to work fine in PoE and in the old IE games. However Obsidian have decided to go with five and I can't see any particular reason why this should make the game significantly worse.
  2. As long as the main bulk of the game is still a focused, well written story then, whilst I'm not a big fan of random encounters, I don't mind.
  3. If I had to make a cynical guess I'd say the official stance will be that they don't, but then some time down the line Obsidian will make an announcement that they decided to include them after all. EDIT: or, apparently, they will
  4. Classy. Here's a tip for the future: don't jump into a crowdfunding project at the start, particularly if you're not going to be able to keep an eye on it's progress throughout. Wait till towards the end before backing (it's what I'm doing with Deadfire).
  5. Oh for Eothas's sake Fulvano, could you make it clear whether or not you're dead already! EDIT: Ydwin eh? I only want him/her if he/she can change his/her gender in a terrible/hilarious magical experiment. I also expect him/her to mutter about how stupid the rest of the party is.
  6. The other thread on this topic "Poll on preferred party size" was started on the 29th of January, less than a week after the Fig campaign began. I knew of the decision to reduce party size from 6 to 5 before that thread was started. From this I can conclude that the information was out there and hardly hard to find.
  7. @gogocactus For a moment there I thought your post was serious.
  8. Hah! I saw there was a new post and before I read it I was thinking exactly the same thing.
  9. Dunnage sewers? The Endless Paths of Dunnage.
  10. You mean we'll have to eat it raw More seriously, if that's your criterion then, but all accounts, your decision has already been made for you.
  11. I never played Hordes of the Underdark, but I am fairly confident in guessing that he referred to himself in the third person.
  12. That's a good point. Oh well, no Vithrack for me
  13. You mean the dog of course, right?
  14. To be fair, it is an experience most of us have very little experience of
  15. With 1007 combinations, if he does three a day it'll take him less than a year. I think that's reasonable.
  16. Well, a suitably powerful Vithrack Cipher might be able to go unnoticed by all but the strongest minds in the area, much like Grieving Mother does.
  17. Maybe he'll head back to Anslög's Compass and die there, so that those of us who already thought he died there will be slightly less wrong.
  18. Well both Paladins and Priests get unique talents according to their Order/Deity in Pillars, so I wouldn't be surprised if that remains the case in Deadfire.
  19. Mine too. I don't really know what the historical Komi state has to do with the ability scores of good people.
  20. Yeah, the Vithrack seem like the most obvious race for this sort of thing, at least from the races we've seen so far. They're sentient but, more importantly, they seem to have intelligence around the same level as the kith races. I'd love to see a Vithrack Cipher (or perhaps some unique Vithrack psionic class), though I doubt we'll see one in Deadfire. Fingers crossed for PoE3 eh? Of the other sentient races, Xaurips seem significantly less intelligent than kith races (though perhaps I am being speciest); Skuldr are definitely less intelligent (I am not sure they are even sentient); and spores only seem to achieve sentience once they become huge and multicoloured, and they tend to be real **** about it Ogres could work too. My feeling is that they are generally a little less intelligent than kith races on average, but close enough that a brighter ogre would be fine (perhaps I am being speciest again). Also my concern about intelligence might not even be relevant. A Xaurip could make a fine comedy companion.
