SPOILER ALERT!!! That was interesting. I also liked how you could lose party members. It was the perfect chance to get Miranda killed.

The delay was a good idea. -

A hundred people have been exposed to that guy, how would you like to be one of them? But I guess it's OK so long as it's someone else. 100 PEOPLE!!! AHHH!!!! I'M SCARED!!!! 100!!! ITS AN EPIDEMIC!!! More people than that die from car accidents on an annual basis, but yes; 100 people is definitely reason to question the usefulness of the state. -
Mishandled development

Good-bye! We get it Malignacious; you want poe to be like that living embodiment of mediocrity, Dungeon Siege 3. That game almost no one liked, and had no market appeal at all. Your idea that Obsidian should avoid the IE formula that guarantees success in favor of an approach that failed miserably already is beyond foolish.- 80 replies

I just went to debate.org and voted that the world will end in 2012. It was more amusing than I expected.

I suppose it's good news. Still I have to alter my prediction score: Me: 2 -1 penalty Nostradamus: still 0.

He called it a hard game. :U Technically he said that first time players are inclined to die if they stray from town; which is true.

Statism - the fundamental dysfunction of our world

The government wasn't small, it was practically non existing in some parts. For capitalism to work you need strong government and strong law to prevent nonlegal practices. I thought you were against regulation? What do you think strong government laws are? There's a difference between making rules about how a business is run and making sure a business fulfills it's obligations. -
Statism - the fundamental dysfunction of our world

Where to begin... A) The lack of a state means that there is no force to ensure contracts are respected. B) The lack of a state would mean that each community would have to rely on itself for protection. That would heavily militarize society. C) Direct community rule is often very oppressive. One need only look at the pilgrims to see what community rule looks like. D) The lack of a unifying law enforcement agency would make life a lot easier for criminals. E) Without a state to ensure a relatively unified economic system; there will be a lot of economic confusion. Expect the economy to be very local, and very small. I could go on, but I won't. -

I really hope the public listens to this speech:

If they treat it as a real project and start to completely ignore the nostalgia fetish people, they could make at least 5 times as much as they got from the kickstarter. But I don't know how long would it take to create all the animations and effects from scratch so it can approach a level of quality most people expect now. Ignoring your target audience is a sure way to ensure failure. Hitman: Absolution- Revamped graphics at the expense of features the core audience likes. Dragon Age 2- Revamped the graphics and animations at the expense of features the core audience wants. Splinter Cell: Conviction- Revamped visuals at the expense of more important features. These games attempted to capture an audience more interested style than substance. As a result they sold as well as the leading brand of bottled farts. Obsidian should not choose neat visuals at the expense of it's actual appeal; nostalgia. Your idea would lead to complete failure. By all means though; keep insisting that Obsidian try to reach an audience never in danger of being interested. Why you think Obsidian can compete with Bioware/Bethesda is beyond me, but who am I to judge?

What exactly is your point here? Longknife never seems to have said anything about the US. He wasn't even being critical of Israel. He was merely pointing out the fallacious nonsense of the video.

I've never seen Glenn Beck's show before. I don't really like how libertarians are in love with states rights anyway.

They believed in the protection of private property. Are you serious? They believe so much in private property that they nationalized industries by force, seized land whenever they wanted, and believed there was no sphere in which the state did not hold complete authority. That's not protection of private property at all.

Never said that. I said that's what I focus on. It's what bothers me the most about socialism and that's why I focus on that aspect of socialism. Some of them are. I didn't say they all are though. No one on this forum yet has revealed anything about the Nazis that would disqualify them as socialists. So far the only argument has been the Nazi-Germany wasn't a socialist society; which is true, but not the point. I don't know why anyone would expect that the Nazis could turn Germany into a socialist society in only 10 years.
