Historically it happened rather a lot, for example with the British attitude to the Irish or the nazis attitude to Slavs. It must be because I live in the US that I've never heard anyone considering Russians as non-white.

Engagement Mechanics- Problems and Solutions
Namutree replied to Namutree's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
A lack of clarity is a problem. I think that will be fixed in the future luckily. I have a concern: This mechanic may make it harder to flee a losing battle than in the IE games. In BG when you were losing a fight it was fairly easy to escape; just run away. Thanks to how punishing the disengagement mechanic is, it'll be really much harder to simply run away. This could lead to poe being more difficult in ways some IE veterans may not have anticipated. -
Engagement Mechanics- Problems and Solutions

I'll just bump it up in a week after the new build if it's not on the front page. No need to remake the thread. -
I've never heard anyone refer to Russians as being non-white before.

It seems that after a good amount of time playing the beta; some players (including myself) have problems with the engagement mechanic as it is currently implemented. Is there any issues or solutions you guys would like to discuss?
-
Even with the delay there still isn't that much time until release. If you think engagement needs to go; you better start campaigning now. In a month or so it'll be too late; if it's not too late already.

There's still time to make "Back to the Future" come true!

Now Stun, you know that BG1 can be beaten with a lower level party than that.

Drama and games journalism, soggy leg joint edition
Namutree replied to Tale's topic in Way Off-Topic
I'm skeptical that this article was really fair. The anti-GG guy was a real douche. Maybe Anita or some one without an axe to grind would have been a better representative. Then again, maybe Rex was the best anti-GG person mangotron could find since the the anti-GG people seem to refuse to talk with pro-GG people. -

If you're doxxing; you're intentions are not good. -

So you didn't do anything stupid when you where in your teens? If so, what a waste. I can't think of anything off the top of my head. So I guess not. My criticism wasn't of her intelligence anyway. It was an objection to the notion that she was as much a victim as the man she doxxed. -

What a sap. "She was as much a victim as I was." She was 16 years old; plenty old enough to know right from wrong. -
Sensuki's Suggestions #012: Non-Terrible Main HUD [Mockup]
Namutree replied to Sensuki's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
I wouldn t mind a flexible UI where I could throw everything wherever I like. That would be cool. -
Lol. Last I checked Cuba (a 'third world' country) has provided more aid then the U.S. From what I've checked the estimated cost of the aid the US is providing will be about 750,000,000 while the pledged amount of Cuban aid will be about 300,000,000. Keep in mind though that the US is extremely rich, especially when compared to Cuba. So even if the US ends up giving more; I would consider Cuba to be the more generous. EDIT: While the US is very generous compared to countries like China; Cuba seems to be putting us all to shame.

You should be allowed to go there, but it's a one way trip until further notice.

Vladimir Putin. Does not care. About Russian people. At least he's not trying to intentionally infect them with Ebola, unlike Western governments. Which one is trying to infect people with ebola?
-
That's probably a good idea. At least until further notice. I'd rather we mistakenly hurt our economy a bit needlessly than find out we let ebola kill a bunch of our people needlessly. I'm not scared ebola is going to be an epidemic, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. This is assuming you are restricting people from coming to America from these countries; not telling us we can't go there.

source Lol. Why is that even considered a story? Fox is stupid.

Really old player here.

I guess I'm the youngest being 24 years old. -
There's no way to know who does and doesn't support ISIS. If a guy in Saudi Arabia supports ISIS and decides to fly over to the US; there's nothing we can do. We're not mind readers.

His design isn't complete and is still changing. I agree that as it is it's not very good, but considering Josh is currently changing it I think it's safe to assume he's aware that there is a problem.

I personally liked BG1/BG2 all-round. I liked the combat, the story, the exploration, and the characters (With a few exceptions). EDIT: I almost forgot, the character creation. Plenty of races and classes to choose from.

The true fan argument is pointless. People liked the IE games for different reasons.

Because they could just have their supporters in Kuwait and other countries just fly over to the US. Plus ISIS even having a foothold in Mexico is nonsense. Mexico has almost no Muslims, so it's not a country where ISIS would even have members. Even if it did; they could just fly over to the US. Why cross the border? Seems like a high risk for more effort. Not to mention ISIS has already made a call to it's western supporters to fly over to the Middle East and join the fight; not sneak into the US where it already has supporters. It's already been established that ISIS's main plans to attack the west involve using western members who can fly back home after they win the ground battles. ISIS will be entering America by air; not ground, and certainly not from Mexico. It would be more likely that ISIS would enter the US from the Canadian border than the Mexican border, but you don't hear hunter talk about building a wall over there; do you? I wonder why that is? My guess, it doesn't fit into the policy he is trying to scare idiots into supporting.
