  1. I don't watch all the Arrowverse shows, but I only remember the dude who got killed in INVASION! and the vice-president who replaced him. Poking around online those appear to be the only presidents I can find. So I guess Obama could be a one term president or a yet to come president or a time anomaly president since the time line is borked.
  2. IIRC, Obsidian heavily modified the Aurora Engine (dubbed Electron for NWN2). My wild, speculative, no-basis-in-anything-but-supposition guess is, if Beamdog is punting questions to Obsidian, that Beamdog would need access to Obsidian's developer side Electron code to be able to accomplish a NWN2:EE. Since Beamdog seem to have a relationship with Hasbro, I can't see it being an IP issue (but what do I know?)
  3. Well yeah, but with my regular comic forum gone, I rarely get a chance to post on this stuff. Thor never lost that hammer (unless you count that Edda story where Loki disguised him as a woman with magic). Current Thor is Jane Foster, who never had that hammer. (Lets avoid the obvious jokes about her relationship with Thor from the early comics ). Glénat Editions SA, Les Humanoïdes Associés, Société Dargaud are the older French publishers I'm aware of. Éditions Dupuis S.A., Casterman and Le Lombard the Beligum ones. Glénat (French and English), Humanoids (English only, I think), Dargaud (French only), Dupuis (French only), Le Lombard (French only) all distribute e-comics through Comixology, I believe. Several of the newer publishers do as well (Delcourt is there, for example).
  4. Joe Fixit. Gray and smarter than regular Hulk, wore a suit and worked as an enforcer for a Las Vegas casino. It's more or less when The Incredible Hulk becomes a comic worth reading. Technically, he's gray in his first appearance as well (Incredible Hulk #1, 1962) and had more dialogue than the subsequent green version. The creation of Joe Fixit was based on that original coloring and character use, positing it as a different Hulk personality in Banner's mind that manifested ultimately as the Joe Fixit Hulk. Spider-Man is still Peter Parker but he's back to a more-or-less similar version of the classic suit, Captain America is still a hero (Hydra Cap was an alternate timeline manipulation created by a sentient Cosmic Cube, depending on how you read it). All three of the primary Hulks are back to green. Batman technically never died (people thought he died but he was actually transported through time). Superman did die, but he got better due to a one-time confluence of happenstance. Thor hasn't got his hammer back, but Jane Foster's dying so it'll return to him soon. As a side note, Spider-Man had the black costume from 1984 to 1988. The year prior to that, Thor had lost Mjolnir to Beta Ray Bill...these changes are cyclical and always happening in comics.
  5. This thread didn't veer slightly off-topic so much as it jumped in a spacecraft, FTL traveled to the far away galaxy of Topican where it summarily joined the Off Topican Empire in their never ending battle against the On Topican Rebels.
  6. 1st thread - https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/92515-josh-sawyers-tweets-and-teasers/?hl=%2Btweets+%2Band+%2Bteasers 2nd thread - https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/96213-josh-sawyers-tweets-and-teasers-part-2/page-37?do=findComment&comment=1989066 Discuss. Please keep the keelhauling and plank-walking to a minimum, and board another ship at your own risk. Arrrr.
  7. I'd remind people that attacking or insulting others isn't really considered to be appropriate for the forum. Also this thread is around the point of refreshing, and it seems this may be an appropriate time to do so. New thread here - https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/96541-josh-sawyers-tweets-and-teasers-part-iii/
  8. I'm hoping personal discussions between two posters can be taken to PM and this thread can continue discussing Cean Gŵla as companions and related topics, like unique NPCs and their good/bad impact on other games like NWN2 or PST.
  9. The games have re-occurring characters named Biggs and Wedge...
  10. Current Avatar: Ruth Chatterton - Actress, Aviatrix and Author

  11. "'And the door stands agape, suddenly, and with great trepidation our heroes step into the dark interior of a lion's den'..." - Haer'Dalis
  12. "Everything dies. You, me. Everyone on this planet. Our sun. Our galaxy. And, eventually, the universe itself. This is simply how things are. It's inevitable. And I accept it." - Reed Richards
  13. Had a friend who had distant relatives named Poopenfart. Can only imagine the furor if they'd been memorialized somewhere in the US. That said, the news reports the sign is only 8 years old. Which raises the question of whether it really qualifies as historic and why someone didn't anticipate the 'problem' before they put the sign up and had his full name on it (possibly they sought to save money by having less letters on the signs?). Also -
  14. A friendly reminder - do not name call other posters. If you wish to make a qutation, proper form is to enclose the quotation in parenthetical marks lest people believe that one is making a personal attack. Please be aware that if this thread continues to veer into perceived personal attacks, we will close it.
  15. What the ****? Have you been listening to some false Chinese propaganda? Bin Laden was killed succesfully in year 2011 by Americans the mission was a success. There was some civilian casualties, but that is usually unavoidable when dealing with cowards. Now NK leader is much harder to assassinate (at least if he stays within NK) I can admit that. Military war would perhaps be better way to stop NK. Or he's thinking about the failed missile strike in 1998, the cancelled CIA operation in 1999, the CIA backed operation that hit a different truck than the one he was riding on in 2000, or the inability to find him in 2001 when they had him on the run... there's probably more as the US pursued Bin Ladin for 13 years before catching up to him.
  16. It's already on Netflix? It's not even out of the theaters in the states. It was distributed by Netflix internationally. It only received theatrical distribution in the US, as far as I know.
  17. Not trying to be unfair, but perhaps such discussion would be better left to Private Messaging rather than in this thread. There did seem to be some attempts to discuss a topic here, and I'd rather not lock the thread if it can be returned to that topic.
  18. "Ugly" while arguably an unpleasant descriptor, is a subjective rather than objective one. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder afterall. That established, a gentle reminder- Obsidian has a zero-tolerance policy with regard to racial, ethnic, gender, religious, disablement, and/or sexually discriminating remarks. Please be mindful of your words to ensure that you do not accidently cross a line due to poor word choice. As always, please report problematic posts for moderator review.
  19. A few gentle reminders seem in order. This is not the 'who is an alt?' forum. We ask that you discuss one another's ideas not each other in this forum. If you wish to have discussions, you must be willing to accept that others may like/dislike things in ways you don't. Disagreement isn't a bad thing. Harassing someone because they hold an opinion you don't agree with is. There is no logical inconsistency in being excited for something even if you have reservations about some aspect of that thing. Excitement is subjective. We're all here to have fun, not win an argument. As a final footnote, the moderation team tries to be as unobtrusive as possible. Do not mistake this with being inactive. As always if you have an issue, report it to us. The team will review and take the steps deemed necessary to address any issues that break the forum rules.
  20. Apologies if this has been posted before, but I thought these were some pretty fun "Bizarre Magic" performances.
  21. I think that Judge Doom/Killer Toon stuff (which isn't from the book, "Who Censored Roger Rabbit" but not much of the film is other than the basic characters and set-ups) is an attempt to capture the switcheroo of who killed Sam Spade's partner, Archer, in the Maltese Falcon - for better or worse. I've not seen Knock, Knock yet - so it may be radically different despite what I've read. But I've been led to believe its pretty true to the original. I'll see Knock, Knock eventually, I'm sure!
  22. Historically, LA had a notoriously corrupt police and judicial system at the time the film is set. In the 1930s (about a decade before the film was set), the LAPD had a "Red Squad" that regularly attacked and beat up (and destroyed the property of) anyone they thought was a communist. The LAPD didn't really begin to get cleaned up until Chief Parker was elected in 1950 (about 3 years after the movie was set) but even then was considered to be too quick to use force and racist to non-whites. This, combined with the second-class citizen status afforded Toons and the rather free reign Judge Doom was established as having, established enough that it didn't seem to be that big of a deal to me. I think the surprise reveal isn't that Judge Doom is the bad guy (or a bad guy), but that he's actually the Toon that killed Eddie's partner.
  23. 1) I'm not sure why you'd think a Disney movie (even if it was via Touchstone) using their own plus WB and HB cartoon characters (and a number of others) would be anything other than a family film. Sure they snuck some double entendre's in (booby trap?) but this was pure family entertainment. 2) Even without that, why would someone named Judge Doom NOT be the villain of the story? 3) The film establishes that Toons are treated differently (given the story is an allegory on race relations) and that Judge Doom has been given a free hand to "clean up" Toontown, hence why Doom has the authority to dip toons that don't comply without interference from other legal authorities - he is the legal authority in Toontown.
  24. There's one going around where someone calls the elderly claiming to be a grandchild in need of having some money wired to bail them out of jail. They hang up if pushed for details, of course, but presumably there's enough grandparents getting hooked to make it continue.
