What little I saw of it seemed silly to me. Not that silly is bad, I liked Scrubs. But it didn't grab me.

Funnily enough, when I saw the 13th Warrior in the theaters, it wasn't the same version that I saw later on the DVD. There were a few scenes in it from the book that were left out of the DVD (like the scene where they test one of the warriors wounds to see if his wound is fatal by pouring a liquid over it and seeing it bubble, knowing the wound has cut into his stomach and predicting his death) or that were changed (parts of the confrontation with the Mother of the Wendol), so I can only imagine we might have seen one of the pre-reshoots versions, or an early cut of the final film sent out by accident or they continued editing the film with that result ending up on DVD. Sadly its been so long, I can't remember all the differences (might have to ask my brother who was at the same theater showing).

I think a lot of people are experiencing similar issues. I know a lot of people at work, for example, had dual monitor setups but don't have that at home.

Paper plates and cups haven't been bad here, but towels and napkins are unless you want store brand paper towels ("now with 2/3 less paper towels than competing brands!") or ****tail napkins (which, i guess would still work). Skipped them though cause we weren't out in hopes preferred stuff would show up.

I should rewatch that when I get done rewatching the 80s William Tell series, CROSSBOW.
Spock isn't a full Vulcan so shouldn't be seen as a template for the race. So his reactions in Amok Time can't be assumed to be typical. If you look at Phase II, Xon shows a lot of the pre-retcon approach to Vulcans - in essence he is Phase II's Data, trying to understand, and even fake, emotions he didnt have in a vain attempt to understand the human crew. Sybok is a fair point, though, coming about a year before the "Sarek" episode and also retconning Amanda Grayson as Sarek's second wife. Iirc. So perhaps it can be seen as the beginning of Vulcans-are-humans-with-pointy-ears-and-an-unhealthy-fixation-on-surpressing-emotions.
Eh, Trek Cannon's been broke since they retconned the nature of Vulcans with the TNG episode "Sarek". 😛 You'll get used to it after 20-30 years.

Playwright Terrence McNally and Italian actress Lucia Bosè both of complications of COVID-19 Director Stuart Gordon (Re-Animator, From Beyond) passed away of undisclosed reasons. Actor David Collings (Doctor Who, Blakes 7, Miss Marple) also passed away suddenly.
