  1. Same. Also in CA. I know part of Obsidian pairing with Paradox was so the latter could handle distribution, something they have experience in, but I'm starting to question what exactly their experience amounts to. They're masters at making you wait absurd amounts of time to get something you paid for.
  2. There's more than just Steam around too. Direct2drive, Good old Games and Gamersgate are some where the game is also sold digitally. Isn't there even physical versions too? Combine all that and we're probably approaching 750k to 1 million sales
  3. Stop being a bunch of apologists already. The fact they decided to make it look like a game from 20 years ago already highlights how lazy there were. Cutting all the things that might have given it a glimmer or visual quality only brings that truth home.
  4. Would the bigots be on their crusade if the limerick had been explicitly racist? Silly question, I know. Of course they would. You're the only bigot here.
  5. Ugh, I never liked Icewind HacknSlashAllNight Dale. I thought the game was meant to be more BG2/Torment, not Diablo
  6. There once was a lad called Sawyer, Who was told to contact his lawyer. "Get rid of that poem, or you'll be sent home, to live your life oh so much poorer."
  7. The game would really suck if there weren't racial tensions going on. It's part of what makes it something we can relate to, and try to fix through roleplay and choices.
  8. There's no option for that currently (other than not installing the patch) and I doubt there will be, especially since the author of that tombstone text chose to change it himself (source). "Chose". Could you expand on that? I mean, the text you quoted included a source, which was the backer himself explicitly stating that he had a choice. Your response doesn't seem to have a source, and so it appears to be a pointless attempt to undermine the credible comment you quoted with no evidence. That being said, if you do have a source showing that the backer didn't have a choice in the matter, I'd love to see it. He "chose" in a situation where he was pressured into doing so, there was never any real choice. The situation should never have arisen to begin with, he shouldn't even have been asked. Had he contacted them himself, before the perpetually offended started their tirades of make-believe social justice, there might have been a point, but now? No, not really. SJW anger
  9. "You shouldn't be hindered from playing the game as we have made sure that all physical copies of the game were also given a digital copy." Unless of course a major selling point for Champion was to give the Digital Key away to a friend, like YOU GUYS pointed out in the description, we are quite hindered from playing.
  10. Yeah let's ban everybody that has feedback or complaints. Only threads that YOU like should be allowed right? Whining about whining.
  11. Obsidian, I have been your most ardent supporter since your company formed and purchased every product ever [Okay except that South Park junk] But here people can go into a shop, people who didn't fork out cash on good faith, have THEIR box and THEIR game and are playing it, and we Champion pledgers are still sitting in the dark waiting for our box and our CDs. Completely lame and feeling bitterly disappointed in the way the physical box and CD mess was handled.
  12. I keep asking this question, to which I never get an answer. Answer incoming! The physical backer versions come with a DRM-free unprotected, no distribution platform version of the game. It's the game fresh off of our internal servers with no additives or preservatives. Not to be confused with the retail versions you can buy in a store - those are Steam copies, but we're not sending those to backers. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! I was trying to delete that post AFTER I found your answer AFTER posting that, after scrolling through the threads. Note to self: Read thread to end before posting. Thank you. Twice!
  13. I keep asking this question, to which I never get an answer.
  14. I'm glad Chris can do exactly what Chris wants, or maybe he just knows him limitations and chooses not to push them. I have never seen a writing limitation of Chris. I played Planescape Torment, and the romances in that game make the ones in Dragon Age seem like the rancid scribbling of pre-tween girls who are on acid trying to write "romance"
  15. I'd rather dev time be spent on Adventuring/Questing content than Romance worthlessness.
  16. I did a search for Champion Edition and all I found was todays update announcement. Champion is the one where you get a boxed copy with a CD -and- an extra digital key. But when I go to my product page it just says redeem a key, not Key(s) Does the physical CD require a key for activation? If that is the case, then I must get two serial keys yes? One that will come physically printed on the disk and will it be a separate key to the one we generate for Steam/GoG?
  17. Hey does the list go by actual real sales happening now, or does it go by keys being redeemed. I'd like to think a tonne of people are buying it AS WELL as all of us redeeming our keys.
  18. Yes exactly. You win strawman argument of the year award, and worst analogy ever award as well. I've said what I need to say. My feedback is for Obsidian, not you. I'll wait til somebody mods this garbage out of the game. Won't be responding in this thread after this.
  19. It's cool to reward backers I get that. However for those of us who are immersion fanatics can you be so kind as to add an option to disable the out of character stuff?
  20. Yeah I'd like to see an RPG where you start off with a nice little bit of cash, and then things get expensive and tougher to save up for in the mid to end game. I loved saving up all that money for the special weapons from Planescape and Icewind Dale in Baldur's Gate 2. It's why I don't like crafting in single player RPGs, I wanna save up and buy that sword in the window, not mysteriously have the skill to forge a god killing blade for no cost. And I'd rather resources that went into crafting go into more single player content. Save crafting for MMOs. The exception to that is one off, plot rich crafts, like in Baldurs Gate 2, where you'd find pieces of epic weapons and assemble them by paying a greedy dwarf. They are great AND should gold sink you.
  21. I'm just gonna put the mailed package away and open it when the disc arrives. I want the full %100 old school experience of installing from A CD while reading the manual. It's something that can't happen anymore in the world of modern games so I wanna do it that way. I won't ever buy physical rewards again because of this though. Too disappointing. Just my feedback for Obsidian so won't be reading any replies from other backers.
  22. I'm sorry I posted this suggestion so late, but I just saw in a video for the first time the sound options with old, outdated archaic choices. SFX, Music, Master (I think?) Nothing worse than having your ears blown out by overly loud sound effects, so you turn it down and then you miss out on the most immersive part of an RPGs audio: The Ambient sounds. So please have separate volume sliders for FX and Ambient sounds. Thank you.
