  1. The ending song for Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone, Utada Hikaru's Beautiful World. I really don't like anime theme songs (or the majority of Japanese music in general) but this one got me right away.
  2. A job interview. It was a frightening experience.
  3. So there was another hydrogen explosion at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, this one in reactor 3, which cooling systems failed yesterday. The explosion is similar to the one in reactor 1, but it's not certain whether this one ruptured the protective layer around the reactor itself, exposing the nuclear material, or not.
  4. Tokyo Electric Power Company will procedurally shut down access to electricity power in parts of East Japan. They've divided 7 prefectures into 5 zones, and each zone will experience 3 hours of blackout each day. As a result, depending on the area, some trains will either not be running or there will be fewer trains. There is also the possibility of water not running in powerless areas. The Japanese Ministry of Transportation has told people to "look into not going to work or school" tomorrow. This is just great... I live in an area which not only has been put into two groups, but one of them may also experience two blackouts.
  5. A large explosion was seen (and heard) at the Fukushuma Daiichi nuclear power plant. Smoke now rises from the power plant. Picture of the power plant post explosion Also, the evacuation zone around the Fukushima Daini nuclear power plant has been expanded from 3 kilometer radius to 10 kilometer radius (source).
  6. 'twas quite hard. First time ever I got scared during an earthquake... I've never felt anything like this. Earthquakes are very common in Tokyo, but this was a completely different beast. According to most recent news 137 people have been confirmed dead (that's excluding 200-300 bodies that washed ashore after a tsunami hit Sendai city), 531 are missing. These numbers will without a doubt rise in the next few days.
  7. The whole "first shipment sold out" statements you're seeing on news sites are overblown. Sure, stores "sold out" in the morning but they got new shipments the same day which they were selling to those who hadn't pre-ordered.
  8. No one's mentioned these two so I contribute their names and photos to his interesting discussion for secure heterosexuals. Jude Law Sean Bean
  9. So hitting space bar isn't easy enough?
  10. I'm playing through Dragon Age Origins on the PC to prepare for Dragon Age II. I hate the fade and wish I had modded it out of the game, but it's too late now. I'm currently going through the ruined temple.
  11. Tales of Monkey Island. Loving it! It brings the story into unexpected directions at every turn.
  12. The game release and the demo release have been locked in place for some time. What has been delayed, though, is the demo pre-release for Gamestop employees. It doesn't affect "normal people" in any way. Dragon Age 2 demo no longer available early to GameStop employees
  13. Looks like Jack Wall and friends have botted from the franchise because Clint Mansell just confirmed he's working on the ME3 score.
  14. Decided to go again for Devil May Cry 4. Cleavage woman, check. Frost monster, check.
  15. What a quirky little game. I got 5244 (95.1% accuraacy) on my first attempt, died somewhere around wave nr 35 because I was checking another tab. Firefox decided to crash during my second attempt, oh joy. Anyway, I finished Dead Space. I liked it alot, is that good enough a reason to buy the sequel for $60?
  16. I used the Baldur's Gate II pre-order items a lot. Robe of Mystra was aweosme. As for the Dragon Age equipment, I can't remember using it ever. For me it's just another item to sell when the inventory becomes full.
  17. http://www.strategyinformer.com/news/10822...ope-on-27th-may May 27. Limited edition with four in-game items also announced. Full press release:
  18. Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 for the PlayStation 3 requires you to be connected to PlayStation Network in order to play it.
  19. Only 5 computers in 24 hours?! QUELLE HORREUR!!
  20. I live in a college dormitory where pretty much anything except for browsing is impossible to do during peak hours, aka the time when I am home. I'm lucky if download speeds crawl over 60KB/s. Guess it just follows sharing an internet connection with 100 other young men. I had to give up on World of WarCraft and StarCraft 2 for that reason... I couldn't log on to my characters in World of WarCraft and I kept getting disconnected from StarCraft 2 every 3 minutes. Yet I can still login to the EA servers when playing Dragon Age.
  21. I don't see anything wrong with a small login check once every week since PCs capable of playing the game are more or less likely to be connected to the internet anyway. Don't see what all the fuss is about.
  22. Actually just one touch screen. There's a touchpad on the back for controls, though.
  23. The graphics look insanely good. I'm really looking forward to further details on the machine.
  24. THIS A THOUSAND TIMES OVER. I remember some Capcom rep saying that hardcore gamers were abandoning traditional handhelds for smartphones. It is simply not true. Smartphones have much more limited controls due to the touch screen being the only common element amongst them, and let's face it, they simply aren't very good for games that have traditionally been popular on handhelds of late, eg. platformers (Super Mario, Daxter), action games (such as Monster Hunter and God of War), racing games (Mario Kart), and RPGs with complicated menu systems. Even with a workaround it just doesn't compare.
