  1. I'm addicted to Recettear: An Item Shop Tale. This game is awesome! Capitalism, ho!
  2. Steam's Give & Get Sale has started. Today's menu includes Alpha Protocol for measly $7.50, along with other neat'o offers. Check it out.
  3. A guy plays the first 15 minutes of Call of Duty: Black Ops without shooting. I guess New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Donkey Kong Country Returns aren't the only games that play themselves.
  4. The Playstation 3 is the best Blu-Ray movie player on the market, and probably will be in the near future.
  5. I kind of wish some developers issued blu-ray versions of games that are on multiple DVDs because obviously there are some who do have blu-ray readers, even writers, in their rigs, myself included. Unfortunately, DVDs seem to be the standard (although it wasn't until a couple of years ago that the biggest PC developers finally shifted to DVD only releases).
  6. I finally finished Fallout 3 (and DLC), clocking in around 62 hours with 215 out of 220 locations discovered, all bobbleheads collected, and all side quests I managed to find completed. The logical next step would be to fire up New Vegas, but since I got some stuff coming up this week I decided to start playing Batman: Arkham Asylum instead. It's quite good, and I can play it in small increments, which is awesome.
  7. Just because it's not on page 1 it doesn't mean there's no thread like this going on. http://forums.obsidian.net/index.php?showt...0&start=330
  8. Great addition! I checked Amazon and it's selling for 33.90 USD/25.96 GBP so $9.99 is quite a steal.
  9. It's not in the favour of publishers and developers to make games that last for too long, because eventually the market will become saturated, or people will start getting the still-popular games off the second hand market. There is a reason why Call of Duty is on a one-game-per-year model: Because it sells, and everyone will buy it. The video game business is simply just business. Oh, and in the past years there have been great hits released over and over again, so I disagree that the quality of video games has declined. It has improved, in my opinion.
  10. Two guys decided Sega wasn't doing Sonic justice so they decided to take matters into their own hands. Then the Sonic Fan Remix was born.
  11. http://www.gamespot.com/users/subyman/show...8490&page=2 Still the power armors, Zerg/Tyranids... they did borrow stuff. This is the only source I've seen on this. Do you have any more concrete proof? I looked through a boatload of articles on the history of WarCraft and Blizzard Entertainment and it isn't mentioned anywhere else. My guess is that this blogger bases this on the sole fact that it was, for 2 months time, called "Chaos Studios."
  12. I just played the demo, and I simply couldn't even get myself to finish it. The world design is horrid, so many invisible walls. Dialogue is even worse, and the awful voice acting does nothing to improve it. The quest design was way too generic as well - "Go there, get this." If the demo reflects the rest of the game I'd rather waste my time in Oblivion, and that's saying a lot.
  13. That "flash" is actually a lamp.
  14. Anyway, I've been playing the Cataclysm beta and I must say I am very pleased with it. Although I haven't played the Goblin and Worgen areas completely I am quite pleased with what I've seen so far. The leveling curve isn't too steep (in fact, it should be a bit steeper) and I haven't stumbled upon any group quests so far in the any of the zones, so it seems to be even more solo friendly than previous expansions. The end quests in each zone are (usually) very, very epic. They are also much more cinematic, with the game often controlling the camera for you. Of course, still being in beta, its extremely buggy and sometimes its impossible to progress further in each zone when a quest is broken because almost every quest is interlinked.
  15. This problem actually exists in the vanilla version. You can fix it by turning on Software Mirroring in the video options.
  16. I'm still playing The Witcher, and I like what I see. I also started playing Dragon Age Origins: Awakening on the PS3. Unfortunately, looking at my Battle.net account earlier today I noticed my account is now flagged for the World of WarCraft: Cataclysm beta test, which means, in other words, that my life the next couple of months just kissed me goodbye.
  17. Mass Effect 3. Because, like, making new games is just so mid 1990s. It's less about making new games and more about closing the god damn storyline. I'm just as pro-new games as anyone else here on this board.
  18. I finished Mass Effect 2 a couple of days ago, and I must admit I enjoyed every bit of it. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to keep everyone alive the first couple of tries, but eventually I realised what was wrong and quickly fixed it. I can't wait to import my character into Mass Effect 3. I started playing The Witcher shortly after that, and although I'm enjoying the game I'm getting bored of the loading screens.
  19. That's the worst marketing stunt ever if the theories hold true. I sure hope the marketing management are getting some pink slips in the next few days, that would help CDP hold face.
  20. Unlike most people I kind of like the new Dante. He has this smug look on his face and seems to be a complete ****. Then again, I never played the other DMCs, so I have no clue how the old one was. It's strange no one mentioned Asura's Wrath, the trailer looks insane. What the hell is up with the space buddha anyway?!
  21. I've been playing Mass Effect 2. I currently only have 2 quests in my quest log: Lair of the Shadow Broker and Reaper IFF. I guess I should play Lair of the Shadow Broker before I finally clear the main quest since I want to leech as much as I can off the available side quests. I also started playing Torchlight again after looking through this thread. It's seriously addictive, but we'll see how long I'll last.
  22. I was playing Mass Effect 2 until Steam decided not to connect anymore. Instead it gave me an "Updating" window with no percentage number attached. I found a temporary fix by connecting through a free VPN client, but I will have to chat with both Steam support as well as my ISP about this issue. It's really frustrating to say the least.
  23. Looking nice. I also look forward to licking the tears of thousands of crying Dungeon Siege fans.
  24. Also remember that almost any numbers for PC sales you find on the internet do NOT include copies sold through DD services such as Steam, only retail.
