Been playing Mass Effect and Mirror's Edge today. Yes, this is my first play of Mirror's Edge, even though I've owned it for something like 8 months.

I just finished the single player campaign in StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty and I must admit that I am impressed. I have never been as hooked on a single player RTS, well, ever. The plot and the characters were nicely fleshed out, and although the dialogue was a bit clich

I'm playing Puzzle Quest on the iPhone these days. I wish I had time to play other games, but since I have my final exams coming up in the next two days. As soon as its over with I can finally play something meaty!

Sony dropped a huge bomb with Portal 2... also awesome to see Gabe Newell eat his own words live on stage.

The first day was a bit of a let down. No juicy games announced, really, although Metal Gear Solid Rising seems to be coming along nicely. Gears of War 3 doesn't look too bad either. Tomorrow Nintendo will finally unveil the Nintendo 3DS, can't wait to see what they have in store for us!

After hearing so many rumours concerning the remastered ICO/Shadow of the Colossus combo pack for the PlayStation 3 I'm going to add it to my "looking forward to" list of games. I have both games for the PS2, but Shadow of the Colossus was especially sluggish on the PS2 (but still one of the best games I have played ever) so I'd love to be able to play it in HD with all the graphic tweaks you can possibly add to it. So, my current list goes something like this: StarCraft II Diablo III World of WarCraft: Cataclysm Fallout: New Vegas ICO/Shadow of the Colossus remastered collection The Last Guardian Dust 514 Next Zelda game

So they just released Final Fantasy IX on the Japanese PlayStation Store, and I bought it, just like I bought the two previous Final Fantasy releases there. Here's the catch, though: I absolutely DETESTED it when I played it some months after it was released in Europe. I don't know why it was... maybe because I had enjoyed Final Fantasy VIII and FFIX was just too much of a departure from it, or maybe it was because I was forced to start all over again because of a corrupted save on disc 3. Anyway, since I spent 1500 yen on the game I thought I might as well PLAY it as well, and lo and behold, it looks like I have lost my hate for it somewhere on the way to the present. I find myself liking the world settings and the characters, or at least so far. The music is absolutely amazing as well... just check this song out. I find kind of silly for being so angry at this game for so many years only to fall in love in love with it. It was the last Final Fantasy to stick true to "fantasy," and I wish they hadn't strayed from that path.

I'm playing through Fallout 3 for the first time. I've had that game for about a year now, but I never actually bothered playing it through. And guess what? I'm actually enjoying it. Sure, the writing is mediocre, and most of the characters are dull, and as for the combat system, the game isn't quite sure if its a first-person shooter or an auto-aim shooter with pause (VATS), but the exploration element makes up for it. I find myself enjoying the game when I come upon a group of hunters fighting raiders and things like that. I've also been thinking about playing Grand Theft Auto IV for the first time, but I guess it will have to wait until I've finished Alpha Protocol (it's so close I can smell it!), but since I can't afford buying Red Dead Redemption right away I will make up for it with GTA4.

I'd leave mine with any Super Mario Bros., for that is what I did in my chilhood. Parents usually want their children to walk in their steps, right?

Lies! Sweden used to be full of volcanoes, but we plugged them up. To make Sweden cleaner. True story. Yeah, 60 million years ago. I see your bragging rights flying away.
-
You can get the cow out of the kitchen whereas you cannot get the volcano out of the country. It's just there, whether you like it or not.
-
Volcanoes don't count, so Iceland is still the cleanest. Sorry, Sweden, you'll have to do with being #4. :3

I woke up late after a night out in Shibuya. On the way home this morning it started snowing, which is unheard of in April in Tokyo. Absolutely ridiculous. My cell phone gave up the ghost yesterday having played a central role in an accident involving a miso soup. Today I went to my local phone carrier and told them of my troubles, proclaiming that I had no interest in having it repaired and instead just get a brand new phone. 20 minutes later I walked out with a shiny 16GB iPhone 3GS which will only cost me a total of 4200 yen over the next two years. I couldn't believe it, but they're giving me something like a 1980 yen discount a month the next 24 months, which means that the avarage payout per month is 300 yen. And not just that, they insisted I used the 3000 points I had collected by using their services to pay for the next 10 months, which results in the ridiculously low price of my new phone. I returned home and have been playing with it, setting it up and stuff like that. I love it already.

http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/15/ea-joins-the-fortune-500/ Electronic Arts becomes the first video game publisher to join the Fortune 500 (Microsoft not included, of course, since their OS and office software department is larger). I used to be a huge EA hater for years, but it looks like they've found the perfect balance between profit margin, quality and IP creation.

Just to make it known: Just because they have rape games in Japan it doesn't mean all Japanese people like rape. Just like people in the US don't like rape even though there is rape PORN (with flesh-and-blood actors) available. This article pretty much sums things up nicely. And no, I'm just as disgusted with rape games as the rest of you, but this CNN report is just unprofessional.

Considering that UK has screwed around with many nations I only think its fair that it gets screwed over from time to time. With love from the nation UK is pushing towards bankruptcy.

After having a copy of Dragon Age lying around for ages, and having recently bought Awakening, I finally started playing the damn game. And it's the most damn fun I've had in an RPG a long time (and no, I haven't played Mass Effect 2 yet).

According to Kotaku, Nintendo just announced the successor to the Nintendo DS series of handheld consoles... the Nintendo 3DS (tenative name). Here's the official announcement in Japanese. According to it they will reveal more details on E3 this year. So it's been pretty much confirmed that it will have good processing power (probably close to what the Gamecube had), a motion sensor (given), and technology capable of showing 3D graphics without the use of special glasses.

Just imagine how this bill could be tons better if the United States congress wasn't half-full of reactionaries.
-
I hope they'll never do this and just focus on adding to the series instead. Final Fantasy VII is still very well playable, and can be bought cheap off PlayStation Network for use on the PS3 and PSP.

I finished God of War III yesterday. Even though it doesn't exactly do anything new in terms of gameplay it's still a great game no PlayStation 3 owner should miss out on. It's epic from start to finish, the voice acting is great, the graphics are amazing, some of the boss fights are some of the most memorable boss fights ever, and it can give even the most elite gamer a hard time at the higher difficulties. Going to give it a few days rest before I step up the difficulty. Now that I have purchased Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening, I think I'll play DAO next. I didn't finish it yet.

The following games will definitely get a day 1 purchase... Alpha Protocol Diablo III StarCraft II Fallout: New Vegas Dust 514 Just Cause 2 World of WarCraft: Cataclysm Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge Special Edition

Started playing God of War III today so I guess I'll be stuck in Greece for the next few days. The gameplay feels a bit outdated since it's exactly like it was in the God of War II. However, it looks amazing, I sometimes can't believe that everything I see is actually in real-time. There are no loading times, which is quite impressive considering what we see on the screen... huge titans climbing Mount Olympus, and all close-up shots of Kratos reveal staggering details in the character models. Plan on playing God of War II again after I finish God of War III, and if I'm up for it I might replay GoW3 on a higher difficulty. MAG will come somewhere in between. Just recently started playing and I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

I can only describe my joy over these news with a photo. -
Now that the apocalyps3 is over I started playing the God of War Collection on my PS3. I swear, God of War is still as epic as when I played it for the first time 5 years ago. My copy of God of War III should arrive next week, when I am, sadly, out of town. Can't wait to start playing it, it looks friggin' epic.
