Dragon Age: Inquistion
Dragon Age Inquisition is definitely looking very nice though looking nice is not really starking innovative game-seller on the accounts of modern graphics alone. I doubt it's gonna be as big Origins as they claim due in no small part to that engine they are working on. All of those pixels are gonna take up space -- I like to think that when you had a game like Origins, where the characters looked very cartoonish, you've got more space for tons of content that isn't undermined by the game's graphics engine. I don't get it - How does this game look like Skyrim? Beyond the obvious shared concepts of Tolkien-esque fantasy? The gameplay looks like a lesser fast-paced version of DA2 mixed up with Dragon's Dogma. The open-areas don't look as non-restrictive as Skyrim either, so I don't really see it.

The Giant E3 Thread
Now if Mirror's Edge wasn't in first person while being a platformer I'd say it looks pretty good. Looking forward to Rise of the Planet of the Tomb Raider Machines, feat. Arnold Schwarzenegger with a Tom Hardy jockstrap, beating up Lara Croft, so that we may admire her strength of character.

What are you reading?
Reading Survivor by Chuck Palahniuk -- Big fan of the whole transgressive fictional works of Bret Easton Ellis & Chuck. Unchronological, in a similar fashion as Fight Club, starts at page 289 or so and ends at 1, involves a apathetic-aloof sort of protagonist born into a Death Cult and being the last survivor of it. His services usually involve in provoking suicidal people through a suicide hotline, which coincidentally was something that started when someone called the wrong number, it also applies to him giving advice or offer his own service to random citizens, last the book offers an insight on the materialistic modern America with a dark satirical twist in similar fashion to that of Fight Club. It's good. Really, really good. Gonna get started on Snow Crash after this one.

European Parliamentary Elections results, major concern?
Yes, it is rather disconcerting to wake up in the morning and see that the most racist political party in the country walks away with not just a victory, but incidentally a landslide-victory. Partly due to recurring incidents of fraud with Right-Wing Party Venstre's chairman Lars Løkke continously being caught with his hand in the cookie jar -- involving him using tax payer money or his own party's funds to pay for his holiday trips or expensive **** for himself. It's not done wonders for Venstre, especially not during the EU elections, but it has turned the opinion of the current ruling Social Democrats, having slightly gained more mandates. It doesn't change that they've failed to live up to any promises and are essentially doing a 180 by leading Right-Wing politics as opposed to Left-Winged. It's quite upside down, given how the Right-Wingers are now leaning towards Left-Winged politics and vice versa. Dansk Folkeparti (Danish People's Party) have not become housebroken, it's 1 out of 4 of the population who've started to pee in the corners. Heck, I thought it was a joke when I read that a Neo-Nazi from Germany obtained a seat in the EU. It doesn't bode well.

What are you playing now
The Citadel DLC was so downright 180-degree-eyes-rolling-inside-the-skull-silly that it felt like I was suddenly playing a Suda51 game -- At any moment I expected Shepard & crew, to suddenly break into song & dance, while inhaling in the air of zany as their lungs would turn into balloon animals. It almost got to that point during the DLC. In retrospect, I enjoyed it a alot more than the actual ME2 & ME3. I'd argue that Bioware is at their best when it comes to humor. That one particular dialogue exchange in ME2, where a Drill Sergeant would belittle his men's incompetence when handling heavy weaponry always made me smile. That was back when Chris L'Etoile & a few others were still on the team though.

Movies you've seen recently
Been watching Fargo, the show, partly because of being a giant Coen Brother fan and also because I consider Fargo to be one of the greatest black comedies to have ever graced the screen. Despite the fact that the Coen Brothers has about as much involvement in the production of the show as Tom Clancy had with the respective video games with his label on it -- It's still very good. It manages to capture the style, direction and setting of the show, but at times the characters come off as a bit absurd and whacky, whereas the characters in the original film were more grounded in reality, and down to the earth. Billy Bob pretty much steals the show, Martin Freeman is well... he's Martin Freeman as always, but he has his moments. They made the smart choice of only having this show go on for 12 episodes because anything more would dry out all the juice of how long a plot like Fargo can go. The latest episode some of the core things that makes Fargo and its character different from shows like Breaking Bad. In reality, these characters are people, and the only reason Lester has gotten away with murder for so long is because of dumb circumstance. He's not particularly a good guy or even a bad guy, he's just a man who's had enough with being pushed around -- and he gets in trouble for it. Another thing interesting thing about Fargo is its willingness to directly engage ideas that other series would leave as subtext. The latter approach can work very well, but it’s refreshing to see someone like the character Gus (played Tom Hanks' son) stuck on a problem that’s at once abstract and immediately practical, and have that discussion framed explicitly on both levels. It brings up interesting philosophical parables of idealism, what's good and wrong -- If you know a guy did something bad and you had the power to punish him, but it's dangerous, should you do it? When a question like that is brought up by a particularly peculiar visiting neighbour, Gus answers "Well, you gotta try, dontcha?". I'm looking forward to see how this show will end and go from here with the remaining 7 episodes its got left.

Brütal Legend is a fun game. Really need to finish it but it's not on the same level as Schäfer's Psychonauts. Still waiting for Grim Fandango to be re-released ;___;
