  1. Not even the power of Nanomachines, son, could possibly spin logic out of that drivel.
  2. Oh, god.. not Marie -- Of all places this is not the place I thought of running into more Marie.
  3. They better not remove this awesome ass song again! <3
  4. Gotta love Platinum's bad-ass gameplay.
  5. Who's left at BioWare from the Infinity Engine days at this point? David Gaider, Lukas Kristjanson, Mark Darrah.. there are probably others whom I can't recall.
  6. I'd argue Mac Walters writing has generally had a larger impact on the decline of Mass Effect. Chris L'Etoile left during the late production of ME2. He did some of the interesting bits, like the sci-fi, some of the politics, and the characters I actually liked in ME1 & 2. Come to think of it -- It just seems a bit convinient that he just suddenly leaves now, in the same fashion to that of the doctor's departure. I get why Brent Knowles (lead designer on Origins) left. He said it's because he wasn't fond of the new direction BioWare was taking with EA. An honest answer which I kinda liked but without being disrespectful of course. Back to Hudson though. In retrospect, I honestly love KOTOR 2 more than the first game, of which he was the creative director, partially because I played it first but also because I generally preferred the writing and the 180 spin story on the Star Wars mythos. Nevertheless -- Good luck to him whatever his endeavors might bring him next.
  7. "Do you enjoy burning off real money on flooding everyone's Facebook page with news of your non-existent carrot farm? Well, I got just the thing for you, because you'll absolutely enjoy the feature of winning a non-continuous game with even less effort of thorough thinking, and thus cheapen any sense of achievement!" This issue, let's call it that, seems somewhat like a promising scam if there was any actual indication that it might work. You'd walk into a bank with a gun and a ski mask on, put a bucket on the floor and say "I'm going now but if anybody wants to put some money in there, you know, the option is open".
  8. Personally, I find controllers more comfortable, especially when it comes to games like Mirror's Edge or Psychonauts, platformer or action games in general, they tend to have pants-on-head retarded configured controls on the keyboard. I can dig playing western RPGs on the PC though, mostly for the access to mods of course.
  9. Oooh, I got one too! It's like trying to break down a 30-foot-tall wall with a toffee hammer! Or alternatively "It's about as comfortable as playing on a Rudolph Steiner slide"
  10. Would have loved another Star Wars RPG from Obsidian. Urquhart seemed eager to do it but alas, it was not meant to be.. Whether it's Old Republic, New Republic, Light Republic or Avocado Republic is superficial because every era in the Star Wars universe is pretty much interchangeable.
  11. Only the most edgy game ever But also currently trying to set up some mods for New Vegas to get started on that.
  12. They need more time to to add in that lovely horde mode hacko-slasho-button-o-masho multiplayer to file out the EA status quo of course.
  13. The idea of a Pirate RPG intrigues me -- Most developers should try approach it.
  14. Did I unwillingly turn this thread into a Rockstar Games related discussion?
  15. Destiny Beta -- Actually enjoying it a lot.
  16. It depends on who you ask -- I'd say it was a bad attempt at satire on the concept of torture used to pry information from civilians or POVs a like. Trevor's statements was supposed to amplify some sort of comment on the futility of torture. But because it's such a pointless gameplay section, it feels highly pretentious to say the least. So, yes, I suppose the message itself might have meant to be political but that didn't really come off that well. Mostly because Trevor himself is such an unlikeable character and it feels more or less like a glorification of his psychotic urges to spread his pain upon others.
  17. Team Silent disbanding was a great loss but I did love Homingcoming and think there were more than enough clever and subtle things in the game to prove The Collective were capable of taking the series over. But yeah, the well has been rather dry lately. In this day and age though how scary are ghosts going to be to a teenage girl when you can stop them by taking their picture? Surely the ghost is the underdog in that scenario? He can't even sneak up on them without risking selfie oblivion. What was scary about Silent Hill 2 & 3 wasn't the monsters or gimmicky jump scares -- It almost one of either, come to think of it. What it had and what few games can't do, is atmosphere, the subtleties in its usage of audio, the feeling of being truly, totally, alone, plus the excellent story and narrative, weaved into the background and the environment of Silent Hill 2 was excellent. Not to mention the rather clever puzzles that didn't always rely on adventure game logic, but actually the player's knowledge of litterature or deciphering codes from notes found in the game. That's the kind of survival horror I miss. I felt Homecoming had none of it -- It adhered to cliché American horror tropes, like a forced love interests, and a whacky black-man going "Aw, heeeelll naaaaw" and stupid unavoidable combat -- You'd something like that should be optional in something that terms itself as "survival", right? I hope this Wii game can bring the horror back on track because I doubt Shinji Mikami is going to do that with Evil Within.
  18. I loved Heather's design in SH3 -- I was implying that Survival Horror has not been great since Team Silent was disbanded.
  19. Could this be the Messianic Survival Horror as foretold by the ancient prophecy, that would bring it back to the greatness like Silent Hill 2 & 3? One can only hope.
  20. Anybody know any legitimate places of where to get the game cheap -- possibly with a Steam key?
  21. But the GTA V torture scene was a political statement. Here it's just part of the story. No, I don't just want to see Leliana strung up naked getting candle wax all over her back. I'm not that kind of sexual degenerate. That's not the message it sent to its audience as one can tell by either playing it or viewing the reactions.
  22. From Award Winning Director... *insert director here of Dragon Age here*, comes..... DRAGON AGE: INQUISITION! Narrator: In an ancient land, before time or sundials, it was time for a hero. This Fall, prepare to believe all over again, once more, again. Dragon Age: Inquistion - prepare to believe. Woman: It's a time before time... Oh no, here come the ****ing dragons! Cassandra: We need a hero, or evil will reign for 2000 generations, and a million Qunari will storm these lands, and the CGI bill will be apocalyptic! Narrator: Dragon Age Inquisition - prepare to love. Inquisitor: I'm only a humble blacksmith with a California accent. How can I possibly rise up and conquer evil without a montage? Dorian: How indeed? Do you believe? Inquisitor: I believe, in the miracle of merchandising! I'll need a furry talking sidekick to spew one-liners while I chop off heads! Sera: (sound of decapitation) Don't lose your head! Hehehehe! Iron Bull: We shall spin gold out of this drivel. Narrator: Prepare to sit through a four hour journey. Inquisitor: I've got a quest: I must defeat evil, and sell franchise rights to Tevinter! Cassandra: We're cursed! The dragons! They're flying upside down! Man: Nooo! The CG machine is broken again! Inquisitor: (yelling) INQUISITION! Narrator: The quest is yours. Dragon Age Inquisiton; coming soon to a theater near you. Rated "G" for gibberish.
  23. Was actually thinking on going back to Beyond Good & Evil and New Vegas.
