  1. Me either. Now you understand why I prefered a reset from the beggining - the game is made for fun for all parties involved. However, when people miss turns, not only is is unfortunate for themselves - but it also detracts from the overall quality of the game. Naturally I'm not berating you for you absence; I'm merely letting you know how it feels from the perspective of those who were denied the opeing turn. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I always understood why you preferred a reset from the beginning. I preferred it for the same reasons. But someone didn't, and I am still of the opinion that agreement to restart should have been unanimous.
  2. I love how England is featuring in this thread as a sovereign state. Did Queen Anne find a time machine? " T'would be fairly difficult for England to pressure Isreal into doing anything, since the two nations have never existed at the same time. And losing its empire in WWII would be fairly hard since it's entire Empire was transferred to Great Britain in the eighteenth century. "
  3. Me either. But trying to find time for three games is getting a lot harder for me, and sending in orders slipped my mind this week. All I can do is apologise for that, since I can't change what's happened.
  4. I'm having a hard time keeping up with everything as it is. Do we have to? If everyone else wants to, I guess I'm okay with it, but I'd really prefer a longer schedule.
  5. Bugger. I knew I'd forgotten something. Whoops.
  6. Sorry, yeah, my bad. I've been unable to get on acomputer all day, and I'm only on here for a few minutes. I'll extend the deadline until tomorrow and move each further deadline forward one day, if that's okay with everyone. If it's not, well, I won't find out about it until tomorrow anyway. Soree.
  7. Ah, what the hell. one more. Train - Drops of Jupiter Now that she's back in the atmosphere With drops of Jupiter in her hair, hey, hey She acts like summer and walks like rain Reminds me that there's time to change, hey, hey Since the return from her stay on the moon She listens like spring and she talks like June, hey, hey Tell me did you sail across the sun Did you make it to the Milky Way to see the lights all faded And that heaven is overrated Tell me, did you fall for a shooting star One without a permanent scar And did you miss me while you were looking at yourself out there Now that she's back from that soul vacation Tracing her way through the constellation, hey, hey She checks out Mozart while she does tae-bo Reminds me that there's time to grow, hey, hey Now that she's back in the atmosphere I'm afraid that she might think of me as plain ol' Jane Told a story about a man who is too afraid to fly so he never did land Tell me did the wind sweep you off your feet Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day And head back to the Milky Way And tell me, did Venus blow your mind Was it everything you wanted to find And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there Can you imagine no love, pride, deep-fried chicken Your best friend always sticking up for you even when I know you're wrong Can you imagine no first dance, freeze dried romance five-hour phone conversation The best soy latte that you ever had . . . and me Tell me did the wind sweep you off your feet Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day And head back toward the Milky Way Tell me did you sail across the sun Did you make it to the Milky Way to see the lights all faded And that heaven is overrated Tell me, did you fall for a shooting star One without a permanent scar And did you miss me while you were looking at yourself out there
  8. The map and position lists were incorrect this turn. There is an army in Rome, not a fleet. I've fixed the position list, but the map will have to wait until tomorrow morning. Oh, and Jags wins a prize for spotting the deliberate mistake. "
  9. The adjudication will be a little late, as I won't be at the computer fora few hours. Apologies.
  10. It does? Why do you say that? If there's a joke here, I'm missing it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Of course, I just assumed you meant everyone else your age in your country. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Which would be a rather silly assumption to make about an internet forum. "
  11. It does? Why do you say that? If there's a joke here, I'm missing it.
  12. That's nothing. One time, I pretended I was a lesbian on a forum full of horny male teenagers, and I was a moderator within a week. :D I also used to lie about my age, back when I was a twelve year old on a forum filled with old people, and everyone else my age didn't know a capital letter from a comma. I actually did a pretty convincing twenty-something.
  13. Probably me. On the other hand, I'm occassionaly a little bit like this.
  14. Ah, that was awesome. Hey, everyone should put "Presbyterian" on their census form! If enough people did, the government would have to recognise Presbyterianism as a religion!
  15. 15th August 1901 Agence France-Presse Perfidious Albion Paris (AFP) - The recent intigue in Europe has been causing a mounting degree of paranoia throughout Europe, and the President of France, being the first to succumb and attack a non-existent enemy, gave a statement on French radio. "Once again, the people of France find themselves suffering due to the lies of Perfidious Albion. Once again, the English have turned on us! We were sold lies by the slander-mechants in London, and it is with regret that I tell you that the Prime Minister, who has been dismissed, bought them hook, line, and sinker. We moved to defend ourselves against a German attack, and left the English channel open as we thought we knew who our friends were. In the end, the liars in England have shown us their true colours once more! They move to stab us in the back while we moved foolishly against our ally the Empire of Germany. To our citizens, and to the leaders of Germany, we offer our sincerest apologies for this mistake, and for our previous Prime Minister's paranoia. To Perfidious Albion and it's backstabbing rulers, we promise our Revenge!"
  16. Poland and Spain concern me on that map. Poland's neighbours have four centres each, and three-centre poland is sandwiched between the two, butting it at an unfair advantage at my first glance. Three centre Spain has a corner position, but that Fleet in Gibraltar limits its ability to expand greatly, as it will porbably only be possible to get one of the local neutrals.
  17. I have no complaints with that strategy. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's good to hear. I'd still like you to elaborate on how I moved against Russia, though. That really confused me.
  18. I convinced her with logic that I will keep between the two of us. That's some damn impressive logic. If you can come up with logic for that, you must be spock. Umm...how exactly did I do that? I attempted to Support her into Rumania, and attempted to move to Bulgaria, moving the rest of my units in a long unsuccessful chain after that unit. Your logic is flawed, captain. Such a shame. Of course, if she'd followed my plan, a build would have been guaranteed. Ah well. Well, if you're concerned about that, I'll come out and say it: At present, the only threat you pose in this game is to me. I'm willing to bet, though, that whatever arrangement you made with Russia and Italy to carve me up is nowhere near as favourable for Russia as my offer of an alliance against you was. Especially since I'll be doing my darnest to make sure that you get as many of my centres as possible. Won't be long, I imagine, before the Turks are at the gates of Vienna again.
  19. The only seven player variants I know of that are more balanced than the standard map are ones that are simply modifications to the standard map (addition of a croatia province, Italy starting with a fleet in Rome), and geometric ones which apparently nobody likes. Abberration (nine player) is supposedly pretty well balanced, as I've heard is Heptarchy (which though of seven players isn't quite as well balanced as the original, though pretty close).
  20. I wish Ron Paul would run. Umm...well, run again. But as the Republican candidate. We all like to dream sometimes.
  21. There was some hot electronic engineer chick that ran for Governer of California back when Arnie got in. Georgie her name was, or something. I didn't agree with her poitics, but any hot geek chick gets my vote. I'd totally vote for her to be president if she ran. Of course, I'd totally need US citizenship first. " The only reason she lost in California is because the pussies working the diebold machines weren't brave enough to risk fixing the machines to let the best girl win. "
  22. Inspired by the a capella thread: The Chromatics - Doppler Shifting Simon Singh showed me it.
  23. Umm...no, I don't. I can read both perfectly well.
