One DJ has their job back and didn't have a problem with the safe work environment at the time. He's not suing. But the other DJ didn't get her job back and is now suing for an unsafe work environment. When they made the prank call, there weren't any complaints about an unsafe work environment from them while they were laughing. More like a case of sour grapes. The way our laws are here in Australia, she'll probably get a nice pay out. I don't listen to that radio station anyway. It's a radio station for bogans.

I would say they mixed and took elements out of 28 Days Later and Zack Snyders Dawn of the Dead.

There's no hive mind. The explanation of how the zombies started was implied but never really stated.

Finished watching Zero Hour. I think it was cancelled after the second episode but thankfully they aired all 13 episodes. Seems they tried to pull the best parts out of The Da Vinci Code, National Treasure and Raiders of the Lost Ark, mashed it all together and out came a TV series that didn't work.

Just saw World War Z with my gf and her friend. We all loved it. Awesome movie.

Forgot to add those two. Actually, probably forgot to add about another 10. Times have really changed. Back in the day you had to wait week to week to watch a TV series and channels would move the shows to different days which made it hard to follow. Nowadays you can get a whole season and watch it in a weekend.

I've noticed on quite a few forums with some people deriding TV shows in general, probably due to reality TV, but there is an abundance of good shows to watch. I have a tendency to focus on a about 5 or 6 tv shows every week as they air, and then catch up on other shows with a series marathon during a week or weekend when they're nearing or finished for the season. I did that recently with Spartacus and did a Season 3 marathon and watched it over two nights. My next marathon I started this week is Once Upon A Time as it's nearing it's season finale.

I'm not surprised my scores are similar across the board. I've always mixed sport and studies together. Was never fully into one thing and always juggled sport, computers, reading, TV, hobbies, etc. Always liked to do everything but never seem to have the time. I used to play a lot of sport but still play a fair bit now. Play Squash, Tennis, Indoor Hockey, Touch Footy and Surfing. gf likes to play ping pong. Also did subjects like Chemistry, Biology, Economics, 3U Maths and computer programming when I was at school. A bit of everything. Do a bit of bushwalking and did some last weekend and walked about 25kms (15.5 miles) through rough terrain. My gf was pretty exhausted and sore by the end of it and couldn't keep up with me and I had to stop and wait all the time (it was her idea!). Never had any broken bones or a bleeding nose. About 6 years ago, finished a 3 year course in 18 months. With my first attempt at sitting for the national exam held once a year, was only one of 29 people in a group of 144 in Australia to pass. Was able to recall from memory large parts of legislation word for word which helped. Also, a friend on FB reminded me (and my friends) how he remembered seeing me clock the Atari 2600 game Dodge'Em with only using my feet with the joystick. http://i34.tinypic.com/imknrq.jpg I can identify with a few of the comments with alignment, class and race.

It's not obvious. Not when you specifically mention an alternative. Once you mention an alternative, if it starts to fall closely with what is often interpreted as dismissive commentary, you end up obfuscating your own point. As such, from my perspective, her interpretation seems more "obvious" to me than yours did (which required further explanation and the inclusion that you were speaking from your own experience, information that didn't even exist in your original post. I know how popular they are. It is obvious. And there is no obfuscation. Why aren't 50% of gamers being female not posting on the Obsidian forums? err, they're playing other games? Obvious. I gave an example of browser based and FB games and if they're playing those games, then that's where they will be. Obvious. If they're playing other games like World of Tanks which I've seen a lot of female gamers do, then they'll be at those forums which they are. Obvious. You even said, "point out the idea that "if they are not playing Obsidian games, they are not going to be here" (but with different words) which is valid." A totally valid point that you brought up and agreed with. All you're doing is reading too much into my original comment, changing the context which was obvious and valid and now saying it was obfuscated which it isn't. How was my intent to hide, make my post confusing or make it willfully ambiguous? It isn't. Also, to have disclaimers on every post seems childish at best and isn't needed.
-
When you've been misquoted, then you like to set the record straight. And the main point of my original post was they're not playing Obsidian games which is probably the reason why a lot of the ~50% of gamers being female aren't posting on the Obsidian forums. They're playing other games. I would have thought this was obvious. My gf plays games on her ipad like Angry Birds and other games. She would never post on this forum because she doesn't play rpg games. It's easy to say around 50% of gamers are female, but what type of games are they playing? I brought up they're probably playing other games and gave an example and got shot down in flames. Also, a lot of guys play FB and browser based games. My brother plays FB games all the time and doesn't play any rpg games. You'd be surprised how popular browser based and FB games are. And as Guard Dog said, there used to be a lot of female gamers who did post, especially on the old BIS forums.
-
No, I didn't say "female gamers must be playing browser games only". Perhaps misquoting is one of the reasons why you're so irritated? I was reflecting my own real life experience. I have quite a few female friends who play browser based games including FB games and don't play RPG games on the PC. Even online games like World of Tanks that I used to play has a lot of female gamers. So while it might be irritating for you, in some circles of life it's the norm. It's not alienating anyone.
-
They probably don't post for a variety of reasons. The main one being they don't play Obsidian games. Also where does the article get the 50% of gamers are female? Are they talking games on FB? If that's the case, then they're probably spending time on FB.

Snow White and the Huntsman. Been putting it off watching other stuff but I enjoyed it.

If the Falkland Islands go to Argentina then they won't be able to compete in the Commonwealth Games. That's bad news all around.

The connection between being a gamer and having ADHD
Hiro Protagonist replied to Arcoss's topic in Way Off-Topic
I don't see the connection. Next we'll see connections with people with ADHD and comic books, people with ADHD and computers, people with ADHD and the group Anonymous, people with ADHD and...., etc -
Since Adam Sandler is now considered one of the most overpaid actors in Hollywood, I would say that you are a bad investor. Also, you seem to have the notion that star power is the same now as it was back in the 90's. Those dynamics seem to have changed. ROFL. Adam Sandler is a bad investment? Actually, his movies over 5 yrs are very highly profitable and its obvious why he has investors: Hotel Trans - Gross $336m/Bud $85m (not inc DVD sales yet) Jack & Jill - Gross$149m / Bud $79m Zookeeper - $169m / Bud $80m Just Go With It - $214m / Bud $80m Grown Ups - Gross $271m / Bud $80m Chuck & Larry - Gross $186m / Bud $85m Bedtime Stories - Gross $206m / Bud $85m And what about the profits of Happy Madison Productions Rules of Engagement - $71M / Bud $60m Paul Blart Mall Cop - $183m / Bud $26m Sandler might make the odd dud, but with profits like these, where can I sign on?? I'd give him my money to invest, odds on he'll double it. Can you show how the star power has changed?

Did you watch the previous seasons?
-
Red Dawn (2012). yeah, won't be watching that ever again. With VFX studios, not a great business to be in when another company can do it half the price in a cheaper country. Can understand why companies are doing that.

You're comparing the UK to the USSR? I never realised the UK was so similar. -
Been watching the new TV series starring Kevin Bacon called The Following. It started off with a good premise but by episode 6, it's possibly the most ridiculous episode of any TV show I've ever seen. Can a show jump the shark in it's first season? Well, this show didn't just jump the shark, it jumped it on a ramp through 20 flaming hoops, over a pit of alligators and only then did it just jump the shark to land perfectly on an oil slick. I'm now watching this series for it's morbid 'can't look away' car crash appeal and curiosity is now overiding my logic. It's obvious this show will be cancelled and since coming this far (halfway through the season), there's no turning back now........ :/

Can you provide an actual link where The Heart Attack Grill says 'this food will kill you'. All I see is a lot of satire and (black) humour on their site. And nobody is forcing the customers to eat a certain amount in a specific time. Whereas in Australia, customers have to get through a huge amount of food in a specific time. As I said, we have a lot of food challenges food outlets in Australia where if you eat a certain amount and beat the challenge, you will get the meal for free. I would think forcing yourself to eat fast and gorge yourself in a small amount of time is worse and probably would kill you than taking your time with the heart attack grill burgers and eating them over an extended period of time or a few hours. examples. http://www.captainamericas.com.au/challenge.htm http://www.komachi.com.au/ramen/ramen.htm
