  1. They probably don't post for a variety of reasons. The main one being they don't play Obsidian games. Also where does the article get the 50% of gamers are female? Are they talking games on FB? If that's the case, then they're probably spending time on FB.
  2. Snow White and the Huntsman. Been putting it off watching other stuff but I enjoyed it.
  3. If the Falkland Islands go to Argentina then they won't be able to compete in the Commonwealth Games. That's bad news all around.
  4. I've decided to go back and read Battle Angel Alita Last Order. It's up to 17 volumes and still going.
  5. I don't see the connection. Next we'll see connections with people with ADHD and comic books, people with ADHD and computers, people with ADHD and the group Anonymous, people with ADHD and...., etc
  6. Since Adam Sandler is now considered one of the most overpaid actors in Hollywood, I would say that you are a bad investor. Also, you seem to have the notion that star power is the same now as it was back in the 90's. Those dynamics seem to have changed. ROFL. Adam Sandler is a bad investment? Actually, his movies over 5 yrs are very highly profitable and its obvious why he has investors: Hotel Trans - Gross $336m/Bud $85m (not inc DVD sales yet) Jack & Jill - Gross$149m / Bud $79m Zookeeper - $169m / Bud $80m Just Go With It - $214m / Bud $80m Grown Ups - Gross $271m / Bud $80m Chuck & Larry - Gross $186m / Bud $85m Bedtime Stories - Gross $206m / Bud $85m And what about the profits of Happy Madison Productions Rules of Engagement - $71M / Bud $60m Paul Blart Mall Cop - $183m / Bud $26m Sandler might make the odd dud, but with profits like these, where can I sign on?? I'd give him my money to invest, odds on he'll double it. Can you show how the star power has changed?
  7. Did you watch the previous seasons?
  8. Red Dawn (2012). yeah, won't be watching that ever again. With VFX studios, not a great business to be in when another company can do it half the price in a cheaper country. Can understand why companies are doing that.
  9. So how is the UK relative to the USSR?
  10. You're comparing the UK to the USSR? I never realised the UK was so similar.
  11. Been watching the new TV series starring Kevin Bacon called The Following. It started off with a good premise but by episode 6, it's possibly the most ridiculous episode of any TV show I've ever seen. Can a show jump the shark in it's first season? Well, this show didn't just jump the shark, it jumped it on a ramp through 20 flaming hoops, over a pit of alligators and only then did it just jump the shark to land perfectly on an oil slick. I'm now watching this series for it's morbid 'can't look away' car crash appeal and curiosity is now overiding my logic. It's obvious this show will be cancelled and since coming this far (halfway through the season), there's no turning back now........ :/
  12. Can you provide an actual link where The Heart Attack Grill says 'this food will kill you'. All I see is a lot of satire and (black) humour on their site. And nobody is forcing the customers to eat a certain amount in a specific time. Whereas in Australia, customers have to get through a huge amount of food in a specific time. As I said, we have a lot of food challenges food outlets in Australia where if you eat a certain amount and beat the challenge, you will get the meal for free. I would think forcing yourself to eat fast and gorge yourself in a small amount of time is worse and probably would kill you than taking your time with the heart attack grill burgers and eating them over an extended period of time or a few hours. examples. http://www.captainamericas.com.au/challenge.htm http://www.komachi.com.au/ramen/ramen.htm
  13. Who's to say what should be banned and what shouldn't? And where does personal responsibilty come in? Should we ban everything that might cause harm to people because of their stupidity? It's a gimmick. And where does it end? Should we ban McDonalds, KFC, etc? Because most of their food isn't exactly healthy. Australia has many such food outlets where you have food challenges to see if you can get through a certain amount of food. eg Killa Burgers with a hamburger that's a foot wide and is served in a cake box - as that's the only box that will fit the burger in. http://www.killaburgergrill.com/ If I was visiting America, I'd stop by the Heart Attack Grill and try one of their burgers.
  14. I liked the first two die hards and the fourth was good. Never really liked the 3rd. Will wait until the 5th is on Channel BT to watch it.
  15. With 12 Angry Men, did you watch the 1957 version or 1997 vesrion? I've seen both and there's a huge ensemble cast in the remake which I found very good. Also, Darth Vader has already had his story told with the prequels. I would've prefered to see a Boba Fett spin off but then the prequels kind of spoilt the mystery of who Boba Fett is.
  16. I have all 109 episodes from the first series of Fist of the North Star. I've been meaning to watch it. I really enjoyed the first movie when it was released.
  17. "But none of these points, IMO, constitute a Police State..seriously. These are normal rules in any civilized, structured Democracy. You need all the points to ensure a country can function. If you don't have these types of rules then your country will end up like places in Africa, and trust me that is much worse" In your opinion doesn't mean anything against facts. Citizens of any country who are so constrained are not free. That's what it comes down to. We call it Law and Order in our countries and then point to other contries and call it tyranny. However, if both countries apply the same points, it's the same. Both systems are tyrannical in nature, the only difference being the degree of tyranny applied and the understanding of the system by the citizens. There would be laws in say Australia which Australians are used to and the overwhelmiing majority of the population have no problems with, whereas citizens from other countries would absolutely balk at and say it's tyranny, taking away your rights, no freedoms, etc. For instance, Australia is only 1 of 10 countries in the world that has enforced compulsory voting and if you don't vote, you can expect a fine in the mail unless you have a satisfactory answer why you didn't vote which is up to the Australian Electoral Commision to decide if your answer will be accepted. If you don't pay the fine, then your drivers License can be suspended. And many people have had their drivers license suspended. If a police officer pulls you over for a Random Breath test and checks your license, sees there's an outstanding voting fine, he will suspend your driver's license on the spot. Many people have reported this happening to them on the internet. The common response is, 'your fault for not voting, idiot'. 'Should have paid the fine, numb nuts'. The Australian Electoral Commission's computers are also linked to many other Government computers. So if you change your address and do the same with your drivers license, the AEC will know and send a letter to your new address to confirm you are living there.
  18. "Somehow I think that Americans are a bit better off than Russia(where you can be imprisoned for public demonstration) or China(where the government controls everything). Unless I missed the part where some tea baggers went to prison or where my Internet is censored." Obviously what I posted went straight over your head. Not surprisingly. The fact is that you do live in a police state outlined in the points I mentioned and comes down to the degree of how it's implemented.
  19. Watched the Japanese movie Hachi-ko Monogatari (1987) last night. Got it from Channel BT. Great movie about a dog's loyalty to his master. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093132/
  20. Just another day off to play video games and watch TV and movies.
  21. "These same people don't realize that we're already bordering on a police state." You should realise most people in America already live in a police state, and are completely unaware of it. There is little difference between tyranny in governments, no matter where it may be. For example, the people of Poland: cannot drive without licenses cannot work where they choose are required to register firearms and cars cannot build on their land without government approval are compelled to buy insurance must show identification papers upon demand have a portion of their wages taken have ports of entry which compel them to stop, clear and pay duties are subject to searches on their highways may be arbitrarily taken into custody and fingerprinted without court order The list goes on. It makes no difference where you may be located; citizens of any country who are so constrained are not free, but living under tyranny. It matters not whether we think we have it somehow "better" than the Poles. Both systems are tyrannical in nature, the only difference being the degree of tyranny applied and the understanding of the system by the citizens. The Poles understand that they live in tyranny, while Americans have been convinced that it can't happen here, even though it has already come to pass. We recognize tyranny in foreign countries, but in our own, we refer to it as "law and order." But a police state by any other name is still a police state.
  22. Been watching the British mini-series Utopia. Fantastic show.
  23. The wife wanted to see Les Miserables (2012). We both enjoyed it.
  24. ^ I also think it comes down to the writer as well. Wouldn't be surpised if they got Lindelof on the script since Lindelof is a mad Star Wars fan and has collaborated with Abrams in the past. eg. Lost. Expect a lot of big questions and no answers.
  25. There were only 8 episodes and it sort of has an ending. I didn't find the acting any different to any other American show.
