I wouldn't say Burke 'gave' anyone a cup. He inherited a pretty decent team when he came into the picture. He got lucky with the Oilers being desperate to move Pronger. Plus, I wouldn't say a lot of the moves he's made since being GM have really panned out. Beruzzi didn't even make it through the two year deal he signed!

I'm puzzled by the Blackhawks firing their coach today. Their GM is saying it's about 'moving forward' with a more experienced coach. Joel Quenville has a better record, sure. But last time I checked the lineups were pretty different between Colorado and Chicago.

I watched The Happening last night. I can see how most people will not be impressed by this show, but I found it to be not bad, not bad at all. It wasn't scary by any means, but I found it quite disturbing. It fails on many levels, like, I dunno, dialogue and pacing, but you could tell that M. Night Shamalayan had somewhat of a decent idea this time around, not like The Village or Lady In The Water. He's credited with a role, but I honestly can't remember seeing him in any scenes. Which is good.

The 'Nucks are my backup canadian team to cheer for. But I'm glad that washington is laying a whipping on them right now. Every Canucks fan I know has been a little too enthusiastic for my liking. And it was a fugly win for the Oilers last night, but two points are two points. It was a good laugh seeing the game winning goal, though. G'Oilers!!

Yep, there's no games 'till thursday, IIRC. Personally, I think the league should look at stabilizing some of their weaker markets before even considering expanding overseas. Teams bitch about travelling to colorado and canada. How much whining will there be if they have to endure more than a three hour flight? Oh, the horrors!

Do you really think that if the season was starting in North America (like it should), they'd have such a delay between the opening games and the rest of the season? These opening games in Europe aren't a reward to the fans there, they're an experiment the NHL is conducting to see how much drawing power they have on the other side of the world.

Iron Man. Again, from the comfort of my own home. It's too bad TDK will overshadow a very solid film. I'm interested in seeing more from Terrence Howard in the sequel. And I took one for the team and saw My Best Friends Girl with my girlfriend. At least she bought the tickets.
