What you did today
Today is the start of 'stress week' at work. I'm trying hard to keep a cool and level head, but the holiday season is not a good time to be working in retail. Lots of stupid ( more so than usual at least) customers. And I'm trying to work up the nerve to tell my brother I'm not going to some party for his wife's father tonight. It's like -35 here.

I scored a meager 51.4%. Some of those old movies are just too...old for me. I've been trying to watch Event Horizon again, but can't seem to stay awake long enough. A friend ripped me a copy of Gran Torino. I hope I can stay awake long enough to watch that.

I don't see Sundin playing with the twins so much. I can see him slotted between Wellwood and Demitra. Of course, I was sure Mats was going to retire too, so take that for what it is...

On a positive note, the OIlers managed to let in half as many goals last night in a(nother) loss to Vancouver.

I was working late so I couldn't watch the game, but my ever trusty Crackberry was there to share the bad news. Sure, the Oilers have been pretty ****ty all season long, but to be flat out embarrassed like that is pretty hard take as a fan of the team.

I think the only certainty regarding Avery at the moment is that he won't be nominated for the Lady Byng this season.

And hats off to Petr Sykora for recording his first ever NHL hat trick tonight. It's been a long time coming!

Ovechkin has been stellar after a slow start. Injuries are hurting the team, with Green, Semin and a few others being out. They've been dominant on their home ice, however, going 10-1-1. Jose Theodore is still as consistent as he always was after being traded from Montreal.

Not sure about where I read it, but Sundin supposedly wasn't impressed with his meeting with the Buds. Ok, here's is the article. I still think he'll retire. But I really hope to crap he doesn't sign with Vancouver. Even though the Oilers haven't played so great so far this year, they are still in the hunt for the top spot of the division. I don't think that would be possible if Sundin signs and Luongo comes back.

I just finished watching the Dark Knight. At first viewing I thought it was too long. After watching it from the comfort of home and being able to pause it, I found it a much better experience. Enough has been said about Ledgers performance as the Joker. I think I posted the same thing when it came out theatrically, but great performances by Eckhart and Oldman stood out for me in this one. On a negative side, I guess I should have read the DVD cover a little bit better. There is absolutely NO EXTRAS or special footage on the disc I purchased. That's pretty gay considering pretty much every movie you buy has some sort of featurette, footage, or something. I realized I wasn't picking up the two disc special edition or whatever, but it still leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Thumbs down, Warner Brothers. I guess having what looks like the highest grossing movie of all time hasn't made you enough money yet. I'm sure you'll make it up with a rerelease and the directors cut of Watchmen.

I thought it was weak myself, some humorous moments but otherwise 5/10 I found Stepbrothers to be a really entertaining hour and a half. But from what I've gathered from my friends its either love it or hate it. We've had daily arguments over which was a better summer comedy: SB or Tropic Thunder. Both have their own faults or merits, but SB gets the nod from me simply for using the term 'ball fro'.

He does seem to have your teams' number, that's for sure. That sure was a weak game winning goal last night. But I'm glad the Oilers picked up the two points.

I've rewatched Stepbrothers three times in the past three days. And it still makes me chuckle every time. And I rented the latest Narnia flick the other day. Didn't care for it too much, except for those kick ass mice.

I bet if Tampa had any money left they'd jump at the chance for Avery.

Six games for Avery plus anger management classes. But the real question will be if Dallas sends him to the minors.

That must be a pretty small pay out, they've yet to lose at home and Columbus isn't a powerhouse. That said, they are probably going to lose because we have voiced our expectation. It's like talking to a goalie about a shutout before the game is over. You just don't do it. Nope, the Sharks are saving their loss for Edmonton:)
