  1. Is this the first upgrade since '04?
  2. I'm wondering if this week will be remembered for a record amount of concussions? First Sid again, then Claude Giroux, now Michalek and a few others. Is it time to look at softer pads? Or better helmets?
  3. Is that the guy Devils fans call Clarktard? I think its going to be even harder for the Oilers to make the playoffs with the new format. Also, how can you include the Islanders, Rangers and Devils in a conference and then leave out the Sabres? That does not make any sense to me at all.
  4. Ovechkin and company are doing me no favors in my hockey pool. It's only been a few games since the coaching change, but seriously, come on. What does Dale Hunter have to do? Cross check somebody in the back during practice while they're not looking to wake them up?
  5. Today was not a good day to be a coach in the NHL...
  6. Of course you'd have to sweeten the pot a fair bit for that to work. I'm not familiar enough with the Predators to know what else they have that's worthwhile. Weber signed a one year deal worth 7.5 million at the start of the season. And kudos to Boston for winning their tenth straight game in a row tonight. That's mighty impressive.
  7. I'd consider moving Malkin for a Drew Doughtry or Shay Weber type d-man.
  8. Scores a fantastic goal on his third (?) shift of the game? One of the best ever. Yeah, that one will be on the highlight reels for some time. Is there a better all around player in the league? Probably not.
  9. Welcome back, Sid the Kid! Please stay healthy!!
  10. I didn't really care for World At War either. If I had to pick a favorite, I'd probably go with Modern Warfare. That's because Wetwork is one of my favorite maps. I should note that I don't bother playing the campaigns. I'm more of a multiplayer kind of guy.
  11. Bokishi and I just finished a three hour Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer binge. We had some fun.
  12. Lol, what would you call the teams that Slats coached to victory then? Pluggers and grinders? I never said that Torts was better than Sather. I said I don't mind Tortorella. Learn the difference.
  13. Sather hasn't won **** in ages. He may not be the dumbest GM in the league, but he's up there. Two words : Wade Redden Tortorella has been coaching in the NHL for just over a decade, and his teams have made it to the playoffs seven out of eleven times under his watch. That's not too shabby.
  14. Richards has hit the 90 point plateau twice. He's one of those elite centers that can make his linemates play a lot better. I think the Rangers will struggle anyway. I don't mind the coach, he's won it all before, but their GM is an idiot.
  15. Gaborik, maybe, but I still think that Richards is one of the best centers in the league. Unless injured, he'll still put up near PPG numbers. Even playing on the Rangers. Gaborik is probably gonna be that player who, ten years from now, people will wonder what he would have been capable of if he wasn't so injury prone.
  16. The Oilers are mysteriously in first place in the west tonight. No jinxies.
  17. Welcome back to the best league in the world, Jagr. He looked great on the highlight reel. Scary moment for Pronger. Too bad, he was off to a great start. As for my beloved Oilers...it's still too early to tell. I like most of the new additions the team brought in, although Andy Sutton and Cam Barker make me **** my pants/ shake my head altogether way too much during the course of a hockey game. The results are much better, our team isn't acting like complete and utter morons in their own end so much so far this year.
  18. I liked Outlander. Definitely b-grade and cliched, but still entertaining. Stardust reminds me of the Fifth Element, as in if its on the tube, you can't help but watching.
  19. I watched the finale just a little while ago. That last shot of Gus...oh man. I can see Mike pitting Walt and Jesse against each other. Either that, or Mike and Jesse combine to make Walts' life more difficult. I'm glad the show is wrapping up next season, somewhat. I think there's only so many stories to tell from the way the series has played out. They even had just about a filler episode this year. I think the last scene of season five will be Walt dying, but that's kind of a no-brainer. I can't see a happy ending for him after all the **** he's done.
  20. Sykora has lost a step or three. It will be interesting to see how he pans out with the Devils. His time in Edmonton wasn't much to write home about. And I don't think the Rangers' problems lie with the coach. Moreso the GM, I'd say. Wade Redden contract, anyone?
  21. I hate cancer.
  22. Sean Avery was placed on waivers today. I can't see too many teams lining up to grab the ultimate agitator with a four million dollar price tag.
  23. I'm off to a wedding tomorrow after work. This will be the third I've gone to this summer/fall. That's about two too many for me. And I seem to have grown a lump in my armpit. I hope it's not another tumor.
  24. Back on topic, it's good to see two Oilers forwards and a d-man are already on the injured list, or are carried over from last season. And I'm liking the job Shanahan is doing so far. He's going to quit that job sooner rather than later, though, I bet.
  25. Yeah, I watched about eight or nine episodes back to back yesterday, and I'm really glad I did. Jesses' development has been pretty interesting so far, and Walts' duality has never been more impressive. I particularly liked his 'I'm the guy who knocks on the front door' speech to Skyler, and then his breakdown in front of junior was either a touching story, or a complete load of **** to keep perpetuating his web of lies. Either way, everyone on this show is either screwed or ****ed, which makes for some pretty damn interesting television. If Gus makes it through, I hope his first action is to smoke Ticos' grandfather in the nursing home.
