  1. Not even priests of Berath or Magran? I would have assumed they would get some extra insight into the true motives and nature of the pantheon or atleast their own deity?
  2. Creation beyond our world, other dimensions, gods and their secrets, animancy insight and other metaphysical aspects of Deadfire would be a nice focus for a playthrough. What classes, backgrounds, races, skills and stats influence unique dialogue and book options to explore this part of the fiction?
  3. Plus to max stoic a ton of your own dialog choices need to be: [stay silent] To be fair [stay silent] is often the superior dialogue-option what sensibility is concerned. :D
  4. Thanks for the tip. I've done a Goldpact-knight multiclass for the prologue and a bit beyond. I liked the dry down-to-earth unflinching responses of the class, but for this challenge I'm looking for dialogue that targets what I outlined in OP. One would think wizard would give some unique insight into the reality behind "the veil" (so to speak), but with a max of 14 unique dialogue-options it seems the chance of it would be low. Do you know any classes that have these particular kind of dialogue? I played Cipher for a few levels, but all I got was some mental sparring with "pirate-Yoda", which isn't quite what I'm after for the purpose of this challenge.
  5. What is your best build for exploring the world and story? Priorities: 1: high frequency of unlocking dialogue that give extra insight into how the extra-dimensional and Godly parts of the world really works. 2: high frequency of unlocking dialogue that give extra clues and insight into what goes on behind the scenes of the story. 3: a strong combat build within the above framework. 4: above criterias > melee characters > ranged > support 5: I find it hard to play cruel characters and goody two-shoes This site can be provide clues: https://wiki.fireundubh.com/deadfire/dialogue-options#root My current ideas: I started a game as a death godlike single-class priest of Berath. I'm looking for a better option because I find the support-role somewhat undesirable for my main. I'm considering a fire-godlike multiclass priest of magran and monk. But it's got low mental/social stats. I'm also concerned it's not very strong combat-wise. I'm considering a godlike ciper/priest of some form, but I'm just starting to theory-craft it and I don't apparently see how it would synergize properly for good effect.
  6. I'm having this issue aswell. Just wanted to add my files to help solve the issue. Reproduce by: 1. Loading the attached save-file. 2. Press the level up button on the portrait. Attachments: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/pu8zjria8m2fgli/AAD_2lbQLEB6wrG0GpggOteda?dl=0
  7. I just acquired Pallegina and wanted to use her. It took a whole 1 sec after talking to a certain someone straight after getting her before another party-member I'd like to use went straaight for her throat. I maaanaged to defuse the situation, with "just" -1 relationship between them. I need to figure out if I can use them together like I'd planned.. What are the consequenses of relation-scores between party-members? Will they continue to squabble until one leave or attack the other? Will they find common ground and eventually agree to disagree? What are the consequesnses of watcher to party-member relation-scores, beyond leaving and dialogue-options?
  8. Deadfire crashed when I aattempted to load a saved game just now. The crash was severe, and lost me the ability to do anything in windows afterwards. The Deadfire-client would not shut off. Everything was locked up, and I had to restart the PC to regain control. Also, Steam would no longer recognice the Deadfire install, so I have to reinstall (sending you the log-file first). I'm sure you've had tons of reports like this, but I just wanted to dump the output.log for you in case it's useful to stomp this particular ****roach. output_log.txt DxDiag.txt
  9. The one with dreads is very appropriate for this setting. Thanks for sharing <3
  10. You got som severely appropriate pics there. I really hope some of the maritime-themed of them ends up as good profile-pics for this game. <3
  11. Are you saying I should not go talk to the queen now? (I think it's the first task on the main quest after Tutorial Island).
  12. FYI pistols and blunders are currently capped at a fireing-frequency of ~3,6 sec because of a bug. Even tho the weapon tool-tip says otherwise. The Low/Mid-level Jackets weapon-switch trick still works like a gatling-gun, but after that volley your gunslinger will be more of a gun-toter until the bug is resolved.
  13. I don't want any spoilers. But I'm wondering if progressing the main storyline will make quests and happeings unavailable? I'm about to find the palace, Pallegrina and whatever the main quest require me to do there, so it feels natural to just move to the palace leaving the rest of the city alone for now. And come back to it later. I worry tho, as many of these games lock out old quests as the story progress. For example the house-faud that the city is all abuss with. It seems it may be progressing once I reach the palace. Maybe I'm supposed to intervene before that?
  14. Reproduce by: 1. Load savegame. 2. Click on the vomitarium pop-up icon and observe nothing happening. DxDiag.txt output_log.txt Agamemnon (VailianTradingCompanyHeadquarters) (646550da-faaa-45d9-9c7b-e22bebb34617) (756848932).zip
  15. We don't have a proper male elven captain portrait yet. Almost scandalous for a pirate RPG. I would be very happy if we did. I tried finding some pics that could be good candidates. Here are the only 3 I found that could be viable. (although the last one is possiibly a goblin ) If anyone have the time, inclination and skill, maybe we'd have a portrait soon A real treat would be a chocolate-skinned super-blond male captain-themed elf with dreads portrait :D
  16. +1 We have way to few captains and crew portraits for Deadfiire. It's maybe the one big oversight I've found so far.
  17. Crash happened soon after I aquired Serafen. I had 5 party-members before aquireing him, one of them a custom-made sidekick. I tried swapping in Serafen to the party after dismissing the custom sidekick. The game crashed as soon as I clicked accept. Reproduce: 1. Load up savegame. 2. While in ship world-map mode enter the equip-display for the party and replace the custom sidekicks magic gear with mundane ones. 3. Exit the equip-display for the party. and enter the companion-swap display. 4. Dismiss the custom sidekick and recruit Serafen. 5. Click accept and observe the crash. 2018-05-13_160820.zip DxDiag.txt Agamemnon (646550da-faaa-45d9-9c7b-e22bebb34617) autosave_1.zip
  18. FYI Blunderbuss and Pistol is currently capped at an attack-frequency (reload + attack-speed) of ~3,6 sec due a bug. That makes them less than good. In my experience Acendant single-class Cypher is the best way to go for your main. While the class have it's initial damage-buffs there are simply better options for ranged dps. And for the caster-part of the class, you loose out on the best powers if you multi-class. And they are kick-ass. Stiill, if you do decide to multi-class for ranged attacks the Stalker Ranger is the way to go. The ranger class have some really powerful ranged abilities, especially for guns. If you go this route you should play without a subclass for the Cypher if you want to focus on ranged damage, but as Acendant if you wanna focus on spell-casting. FYI2 the Cyphers combat-buff spells are allied only. He can't target himself.
  19. I've had a game with similar issues. It happened in the start-cabin for me, and I recreated the charaacter and it was fine. I suggest two things. First, read the "how to submit a bug" -thread at the top of the forum. It may help them track down the issue, given how it's not easily reproducable. Second, when it happens, load a savegame from before it happened while we wait for a fix.
  20. The sum of modifiers are not applied to the base recovery/reload -speed. They are applied one by one. That yields diminishing returns, but it's still very powerful.
