  1. Double thread. I removed the other one since this one had more in it. Good luck, Noelle. Don't cheat *too* much with the console commands! :Cant's wink and grin icon:
  2. Moved to gameplay mechanics. I don't know if this is working as intended, Lucien, but hopefully someone here can weigh in on the mechanics of how this is working for you. Good luck and happy gaming!
  3. Nice to see that the Romance debate can outlast the release date. If they can treat it properly, I would hope that they delve more into relationships and broaden them out over the series. That's assuming that there will be at least a few PoE games and that there's some stability in the cast o' characters.
  4. Moved to support as per Cirventhor's wishes. Good luck and happy gaming!
  5. Ha! I'm not even at my house, so I can't play anyway. So, I'm using the time here, of course.
  6. Okay, last one, I swear. We'll set up our own charity, allow people to donate their extra copies, and then airlift them to *third world countries* as part of the Obsidian Initiative. I'll head it since, clearly, I'm so far down I *can't* get street cred. It'll be our inside joke. lol Anyhow, to get back to topic, happy days to all who feared the lack of keys! Huzzah! In the morning, when we get up, it'll be just like Christmas. We'll get up, go to our computers, and play... wait! We fought over all that and we can't even play it until the 26th?! Still, it was good for a laugh, so no harm no foul. Just a measly 34 more hours!
  7. haha you doofus. ...please don't report me! In all seriousness, I can't imagine what people can do with the extra keys other than give them away. I guess if you have multiple personalities, you might use them all. ...Or if you want to play PoE with your wife. Of course, there's nothing like both playing the single player game together at different computers. For my part, if I *hadn't* already earmarked my extra copies, I would actually be tempted to use one of the keys just so I could get an early start while waiting for my box. <.<
  8. way to dis the backers, man! If we can't sleep, why the hell should you? This may very well be the last game I back.
  9. Which digital orders? Things like the almanac and stuff like that? If so, that hasn't been released yet. I believe someone mentioned about it being released either on the 25th, or when the game goes live on the 26th. Right now the only digital thing released is the key claiming. This really messed me up. I expected to have my digital cookbook downloaded by now. I even planned a big dinner party to celebrate, in which I had planned to feature some of the dishes from the cookbook. Since I didn't have any recipes to work with, I just had to serve everyone dry toast! Any hopes I might have had to become a master chef are ruined. Thanks a LOT Obsidian! Just grab any ol' thing from the White that Wends and slap it on the grill. Cooking problem solved. Anyhow, how quickly tears turn to laughter in a thread dedicated to Key angst.
  10. Woo Hoo! Splurge. Christmas taken care of in March! Aw, you're going to cheat and not wait for the box? I'd better not see you selling that signed box on ebay, Red!
  11. Hmm, I only have two base game keys. I'll look into later and see if there's something amiss. EDIT: Thanks inkblot Just to play the pedant: that's gold backers at the $1000 tier. The $750 and $500 gold backers only get one copy of the game.
  12. lol I just went and looked at my pledge. I have two copies of the game available... each hero edition. I intend both of those as gifts for people. Hoping to bring a couple of younger players into the ol' skool cRPG club. So, I have to wait for the box to arrive. I wonder if it will arrive on the 26th also. No biggie if it doesn't. The main thing about the game I'm getting already, which is the dedication to my dad.
  13. Keep in mind that this is the first kickstarter that Obsidz has done. I would imagine they'll gain much wisdom from this experience, maybe level once or twice, and then choose the skills and feats that will allow them to fight that much better next time. In the meantime, I think I'll start selling pitchforks and fiery brands. Starting with Pedro. What do ya say?
  14. What?? You got an email before me?? That's it, I'm getting my pitchfork right now Okay okay! But remember, he *is* a backer! :Cant's broad grin icon:
  15. Please don't advocate killing anyone in the thread, even in jest. No speculation about folks being murdered, advocating murder, or asking to be murdered. Reiterate, don't talk about killing folks, even if you're joking.
  16. Moved to game mechanics forum in the hopes of getting some answer for deli. Good luck!
  17. To make things easier for people to air their grievances, shout their support, seek for answers, or mingle with the crowd, we'll limit the number of Keys threads to one for the time being.
  18. There is another thread about the Keys in this forum that alleges a notice sent via email to the member. I'll try to verify that, but in the meantime, I'm going to close this thread for length and redirect you there. I will continue to approve posts, critical, happy, dissenting, clueless, etc. that don't attack other members directly or resort to outright flames. I'll also be looking at reported posts, but please only report things that deserve it. Have a little charity for each other! http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/71557-update-for-backers-re-keys/
  19. I've been pretty much staying out of this thread, only coming in to approve posts, but some of them sound a little overboard. However, as long as the forum doesn't devolve into flames, I guess it's fitting for folks to be able to blow off a little steam (no pun intended) before the game's ship date. Then we'll all be too busy playing to come here to complain. (I know I know! Wishful thinking!)
  20. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/64752-the-obsidian-order-of-eternity-part-7/?p=1396357 Follow that link and follow the instructions and you should find relief. Good luck, Jack!
  21. That's a bummer, Tale. Our dishwasher went out and ruined the flooring in the dining room (the kitchen is tile). Insurance paid for it. I did the demo, but we had someone put in the floor, which sucked because I'd done a better job when I'd done it last time. Still, while it was a pain, it worked out okay. Hopefully, that's your experience too!
  22. I'd really rather have the journal look more like a journal. Maybe have a section where there's a list of things that the PC needs to do, like you can have in a real journal, but more or less things are described as an unfolding narrative. Like some of the others here, I don't want to see a journal that screams "computer game device to keep track of things needed to finish the game!"
  23. Yeah, I have to admit that I hear 'multiplayer' and I'm itching to man the barricades. I generally don't, but the inclination is there. Probably not fair. If they found a way to include simple coop, I suppose I wouldn't mind. ...But I'll always prefer money be spent on the single player aspect. It's just natural for folks to be greedy about time and resources for the games they follow in development. :Cant's wry grin icon:
  24. People are welcome here. No one's going to drive off new members. Now, to be fair, I don't think that's what people want. As I take it, folks just don't want streaming/reviewing/spoiling content in this particular sub-forum. The fact is, we don't know how things will shake down as the release date comes in the next couple of days. No matter what, we should be able to accommodate new members who have their own desires and investment in the game, and that investment can be simple interest in finding out more about the project and title. It's simply not going to okay to try to keep some sort of board purity. However, the Obsidian boards have a long *long* tradition of allowing folks to give voice to all manner of opinions and advocate a broad swatch of positions. There's a difference between saying you want a forum set up to keep spoilers out of the general sub-forum and saying you want to deny new membership. Even then, I don't see why we can't allow people to say what they want, even if they won't get it. For my part, I try to weigh in sparingly on these issues because I have to try to maintain at least some perspective. So far, we *don't* have a real problem. Let's not man the barricades on either side just yet. I'm preaching calm for the time being because I'm confident that we'll have some sort of resolution before the game ships. For the time being, if you've gotten advanced word about something in the game, don't post it here. Post it in one of the other sub-forums. If you think it's not spoilerish enough to worry, but it's still advance word, just put a tag on it. It might be moved or it might stay. If you don't want advanced word about anything, just be careful. There's absolutely nothing I can do about the streaming videos. Frankly, BAdler gave the best advice so far: don't watch streaming videos if you're worried about spoilers. No matter what, I can assure you that everyone, from the lowly newest moderator volunteer like me up to the godlike community manager, is looking out for you. ...And that *you* is every member in good standing, new or old. :Cant's end of the pep talk icon:
  25. That really is too bad. I was looking forward to seeing how it fit in with the ToN setting. At least that's what I understood about it. I haven't had tons of time, but I did take a quick look through all the updates they sent. I'll keep my pledge earmarked just in case they decide to give it another shot, as Gizmo quoted.
