  1. There doesn't seem to be any Paradox on today's twitch schedule. Perhaps streaming through some other channel? Not sure how valid that schedule is though.
  2. Diablo III did it pretty well, iirc, with more verbose descriptions when you were in the skill menu and then mouse over tool tips that could be toggled between "standard" (a plain-text description) and "detailed" (description of skill effects with all the numbers laid out). I agree with most of the people in this thread that transparency should be available for for the players that want it, and I personally like when it's split up into a plain text/lore section and a meaty effects section just because it makes it easier to find what I'm looking for.
  3. Wow, this discussion is nuts. To the guys arguing for objective XP: you have the patience of saints, keep up the good work.
  4. Sorry to be contrary, but here's to hoping that the expansion doesn't include multiplayer. Nearly every game feels compelled to be multiplayer anymore. And it seems like either significant development time is spent on this (in lieu of other features) or the MP functionality sucks. I have always applauded PE/PoE for being a focused single player game, and I hope it will remain as such. Vs. tacking something on at the end that may not be that good, and will result in less single player content. Well of course the end result wouldn't be any good if they tack on something bad at the end. Multiplayer is not inherently bad though, it all depends on how it is implemented. For example, I was really surprised at hearing Mass Effect 3 would include a multiplayer mode, and wondered how it could possibly work, but in the end I ended up having lots of fun with it. I bet multiplayer could be a lot of fun in a Pillars game (but wouldn't guess they'd implement it as soon as the expansion), with a friend on skype and the slowdown instead of pause mechanic.
  5. You are right about that, and I did like his enthusiasm for the game. I suppose I let his style later in the show get to me a bit.
  6. That was me. And what I said was "The Lord of the Rings movies are high fantasy too, and tons of equipment in those movies was mundane looking (and great looking). Keep in mind that what we saw here was starting equipment, not artifacts or even magical gear." Like what this high-levelled badass is wearing. That said, hopefully we can look forward to sensible and awesome-looking equipment like the concept art above (is that from the Hobbit?) as well. I guess you were the only one talking about normal and generic armors... lol
  7. Yeah, no kidding. I happened to catch a later stream as well and he was even worse there. He seemed drunk/high.
  8. The Lord of the Rings movies are high fantasy too, and tons of equipment in those movies was mundane looking (and great looking). Keep in mind that what we saw here was starting equipment, not artifacts or even magical gear.
  9. Well, regardless of how the armor looks. Why is it important to be able to distinguish if a character is male or female at a glance?
  10. Well if the plate can't even stop a pair of boobs it probably wouldn't be much use as armor. Really digging the aumaua, by the way! Certainly in the lead for first character choice.
  11. It would be cool if this sort of thing could be toggled in the options. I mean, I'm not even sure this is a problem when you're actually playing the game but in general I just like UI-options.
  12. Perhaps it isn't impossible, perhaps it is just the player character that's been cursed with infertility! And you don't have to use that specific head for your godlike if you don't like it. You'll get to choose between a couple of different types of godlike, and then each type have a couple of different heads to choose from. Perhaps just chill out, nuff said.
  13. There are dating sims out there, play one of those on your phone or something.
  14. I'd have them implement BHM 101 times, rather than romancing.
  15. Let's be frank here, if they had gone with character sketches for the character creation and inventory screens, a bunch of forumites would be up in arms over that decision instead. "They've gone to the trouble of creating all these character models and equipment in 3d but wont let us take a proper look at it. Why not use a model instead of a paper doll so that you could see what you character looks like in all his new gear!"
  16. We should all pitch in and get the winner the expansion pack.
  17. My guess is 2014-11-25. Edit: more reasonable date formatting
  18. Souls are purple! Gorion dies! Major spoilers indeed. Never doubt people's ability to get offended.
  19. I really liked the dialogue wheel in the Mass Effect games, I thought it really meshed with the cinematic style of the game. In other games I've actually sort of missed the functionality of knowing the tone of a reply by it's position, and mistakenly angered NPCs with replies that I intended to be friendly or joking, but the game interpreted as sarcastic or hostile. I really enjoyed Dragon Age: Origins as well, but I'll for sure wait around until I've gotten a solid impression of Inquisition before buying it (perhaps even a Steam sale). Actually that is not a realistic way to do things. Although a certain response might seem to be friendly or joking to you, there are two people in the conversations and not everything is same to both of them. Conversations wheels decide your character and his culture always supersedes the other person. It is a bad way to do it, and completely unrealistic. That is of course true, but I meant that the character's delivery and intention is easier to match up with your own when you've got you dialogue options thematically sorted. If I for example intend a lighthearted reply, and the character on screen delivers it like an **** then there's been a miscommunication (and that is what I meant by the game's interpretion, not that the character I'm aspeaking to should conform to my every wish. I can see now that I was unclear). Anyway, the dialogue wheel is just a way to handle dialogue, it sounds like it's the actually writing that you are having a problem with, not the technology that delivers it.
  20. Hell, even just a red cross or a Ø or whatever would work. If I'm pressing it my mind is already on it's way to other things, and if I'm not pressing it then I'm reading or contemplating the interaction instead, who cares!
  21. I'm with the last two gentlepersons here, I just thought they looked fine while I watched the video.
