  1. maybe they don't make'em in denmark, but is tough to walk into a dive bar in the US w/o seeing that guy. sure, he will be wearing a shirt, and his skin-tone and hair/beard will vary, but we have seen this guy too many times to recollect. HA! Good Fun!
  2. folks always seem surprised when Gromnir tells 'em we celebrate thanksgiving. our grandfather thought it were a great holiday, so we grew up taking the thanksgiving meal prep serious. this year, slowed a smidgen by injury, we mighta cut a few corners, but we nevertheless put out a decent spread. turkey brined with we-kid-you-not orange juice-- no stuffing. we do not fill our bird with insulating material. dressing/stuffing-- we make an extra turkey breast (two actually) and place the breasts on top o' our dressing in a large roasting pan. as such get turkey juices suffusing our dressing w/o the turkey roasting mystary. went very basic this year with bread, mushrooms, celery, red onion and sweet potatoes combo. lots o' fresh sage and parsley. deglaze the sauteed vegetable matter with a very dry sherry. turkey stock we made wednesday night is kinda key... along with the turkey breast(s). brussel sprouts-- is our yearly attempt to make sprouts as unhealthy as possible. brown butter, shallots and hazelnuts in large saute pan and then add heavy cream. simmer a bit and then add gorgonzola and fresh lemon juice. toss roasted sprouts with the nutty cheese sauce. sprinkle with lemon zest. green beans-- browned butter, mushrooms, red onion, hazelnuts, bit o' lemon juice. mac n' cheese-- nothing fancy or noteworthy, but is most favored side dish after the evuhl sprouts. cranberry sauce- fresh cranberries, apple cider and a grated gala apple along with a whole lotta sugar... bit o' cinnamon, ground cloves and a teaspoon o' apple cider vinegar. always needs a bit o' salt. pumpkin pie and fresh whip cream-- am suspecting the only reason we made pie is 'cause we made whip cream, and we made whip cream 'cause the heavy cream we bought for our sprouts came in a 1 quart size. used 1 cup cream for sprouts. *shrug* decided to make whip cream with the remaining heavy cream and 'course we needed something to put under the whip cream, so... gravy-- no mashed potatoes this year, so the main purpose o' the gravy is actual for leftovers/turkey sandwiches. gonna hibernate. HA! Good Fun!
  3. had a bike accident a couple days ago. equipment failure + user fail (stoopid speed) = a couple cracked ribs, and an impressive amount of skin lost. our coppery complexion hides much o' our bruising and there were no injury to our face or head, so our two-wheeled fumbduckery has remained a private humiliation-- explain away our frequent wincing with a deadpan explanation o' "overly rough sex." our questioner experiences an uncomfortable laugh followed by silence. only reason we share is 'cause o' the curious half second o' reflection we experienced immediate preceding our inevitable crash. as we noted already, we had equipment failure which made our fall an inevitability given our reckless speed. nevertheless, we had time to consider our situation. not fear or anger. best we could (couldn't?) muster were ennui. managed to relax before the fall, though the sensation o' feeling ribs break mighta' spiked our adrenaline a tad. *shrug* our reaction were rational given the circumstances. even so, am nevertheless disappointed in our self. indifferent resignation strikes us as so... banal. HA! Good Fun!
  4. regardless o' what occurred, chrisA actions do seem petty and small. feargus coulda' kicked chrisA's cat into oncoming traffic and it wouldn't change the immaturity o' chrisA's response. we don't know what happened 'cause obsidian is staying public silent and 'cause chrisA is content to hint and suggest obsidian malfeasance. is no way to spin chrisA response as anything other than immature and unprofessional. 'course we are talking 'bout the gaming industry, so looking for maturity is a quixotic endeavor. HA! Good Fun!
  5. been doing it in increasingly less subtle ways since he left obsidian. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/81337-novella-comming-any-word-on-progress/?hl=chrisa&do=findComment&comment=1774584 is not a shift in behavior for chrisA but rather a continuation. too bad too. we like his work, for the most part. HA! Good Fun!
  6. Mmmhmm... Just keep tellin' yourself that. You'll just keep going there, getting more and more brainwashed. Soon you'll exclusively listen to nationalist propaganda as only they see the, "truth". Do you know why that is your fate? Because you gave Stephan "not an argument" Molyneux a chance. Now you WANT to be brainwashed. Don't worry though; you've picked the right team to be brainwashed by. At least they have dank memes. let's not discount the newsworthiness o' breibart. am gonna suggest if one works for MiB in 2016, breibart is hot sheet material. HA! Good Fun!
  7. ah, poor bardebeat. we knew him/her for such a short time and now he is dead. ... he is cold and dead and nevertheless still posting. is literally only one responsible thing for us to do in this situation literally. HA! Good Fun!
  8. we got one fire extinguisher in the house and is no coincidence it is kept in the kitchen. small fires can indeed be extinguished with baking soda. am s'posing we should get one o' those costo-sized boxes and put it near the stove. unfortunately, most o' our baking soda is in the fridge (way in the back behind the pickles or yogurt) or is in our dry ingredients cabinet, and no doubt approaching emptiness. as such, it would alternative take prohibitive time to get the fridge baking soda, and our ingredients baking soda is likely to be of sufficient volume to smother a fire no larger than a quarter. regardless, a fire extinguisher in the kitchen is a must. HA! Good Fun!
  9. well, trump is wrong 'bout one thing: the theatre has never been a safe place for those in power. perhaps rosbjerg would be better to be speaking 'bout the theatre? *shrug* the theatre has frequent needed be subtle. the theatre has sometimes been subversive. the theatre, sadly, has been a tool of the State or wealthy patrons more often than not, but there is no question the theatre has also been brave, rude, crude, terrible and beautiful. we would weep if we genuine believed there were even a possibility the theatre would need become a safe place for those in power and am glad we live in an age and in a nation where performers can be so open and forthright. if the cast of hamilton offended beyond the pale, then people will stop going to see the show and their message will die. they took a risk. personally, am not believing pence deserved the treatment he received, but am indescribably proud o' an America where nobody is safe from ridicule in the theatre. not tyrants. not businessmen. not journalists. not saints. some will see what happened as evidence o' divisiveness. it is. is also proof o' freedom. thank God. thank America. ... btw, the writers o' hamilton need a history lesson. got the hero and villain largely reversed. HA! Good Fun! edit: weird spell fail on rosbjerg name. apologies.
  10. prediction: the first female mlb player will be an american league knuckleball pitcher. haven't seen the show you reference, so am not knowing if she is a knuckler. HA! Good Fun! She's a screwball pitcher in the show, as I understand it. screwball? for reals? ... am not certain if is your pun, or the show writer/producer's joke HA! Good Fun!
  11. prediction: the first female mlb player will be an american league knuckleball pitcher. haven't seen the show you reference, so am not knowing if she is a knuckler. HA! Good Fun!
  12. bmw always provides us a loaner, and would likely hire us a prostitute to meet us at home or service us at the bmw repair facility depending on our preference. 'course, for the amounts o' money it costs to complete simple repairs and maintenance, we is already getting _________ by bmw. we got no complaints 'bout bmw and their servicing o' Gromnir, but tinstaafl. service comes at a price, even when such is not itemized on the final bill. as such, am not able to say if manifested is actual getting jobbed worse than we are. twelve miles o' walking in san diego, or paying "somewhere between ouch and boing." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTL453yF5BQ HA! Good Fun!
  13. we like dave. nevertheless, on the issue o' canada's indigenous peoples, dave were full o' venom and vitriol. reading dave's posts, we got no doubt bruce woulda' been channeling iron eyes cody. more than a few bruce tears would salt the earth 'pon seeing how a social justice warrior such as dave could harbor such anger for native peoples. HA! Good Fun! ps funny aside, iron eyes cody were actual espera oscar de corti, the child of sicilian immigrants.
  14. Knock me over with a feather! For whatever reason, Ive never once considered that NA's would also be in Canada. Obviously things didn't go well in the US but whats the relationship with the Canadian government? Are there reservations in Canada too? canada has reserves rather than reservations. biggest difference 'tween reserves and reservations is the degree o' control and self-determination the native peoples have within the borders o' those tracts o' land. when dealing with indigenous peoples, canada has been more consistent over the years and is currently far more paternalistic than is the US fed. as such, US reservations have greater extremes o' success and failure, though canadian reserves is nevertheless trending more towards fail than success in spite o' greater Parliamentary control. am recalling 'bout ten years ago how dave gaider, a dyed-in-wool social justice warrior and vocal advocate o' lgbt rights, were raging on the bio boards 'bout the native peoples o' canada and the poor management o' reserves. curious disconnect? nope. dave's car had been stolen and abandoned on or near a reserve. dave's values were tested and at the time, he sounded far more like a trump supporter circa 2016 than the vocal proponent o' all things good and just and sunny he is today. HA! Good Fun!
  15. Sure, but that's kinda what made it what it is - ironically, today it's seen as an unapologetic campy and 'selfaware' little classic, that knew it was being over the top. It's in this light I compared it to Tyranny, which is imho also looking to be an unapologetic campy and 'selfaware' little classic john milius, the guy who wrote apocalypse now was tabbed to write and direct conan (1982). dead serious... seriously. today we can see camp, but conan and its actors and director and producer were complete unaware o' their camp. HA! Good Fun!
  16. http://theconcourse.deadspin.com/trumps-transition-team-is-just-now-learning-what-a-pres-1788949997#_ga=1.166157886.1232049420.1467514373 trump unaware o' the role o' the Presidency in our federal government? color us shocked. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/88086-us-election-2016-part-iii/page-7?hl=%2Bschoolhouse+%2Brock&do=findComment&comment=1828131 haven't checked our fbi file for a few years. sending a dvd collection o' the schoolhouse rock videos to trump might get us an update entry. https://smile.amazon.com/Schoolhouse-Rock-Special-30th-Anniversary/dp/B00005JKTY/ref=smi_www_rco2_go_smi_g2609328962?_encoding=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0&ie=UTF8 HA! Good Fun!
  17. am admitting our alley, if we had an alley, would be more akin to this: HA! Good Fun!
  18. well, if we discovered amentep's preference for steak were to torture and terrorize the cow immediate before butchering as you enjoys the taste o' lingering fear and pain in your meat, perhaps then we might express some kinda concern over amentep's steak preference. similarly, if amentep had his teeth replaced with canine/shark/whatever implants and his preference for steak consumption were to rip gobbets o' bloody flesh from the living beast with his own mouth, we might also pause to consider the implications. however as one assumes we is speaking solely o' the rare-to-well-done spectrum, am in agreement the question is ridiculous. on the other hand HA! Good Fun!
  19. uhm. conan the barbarian (1982) were only campy in select moments and also 'cause it took itself too serious. as such, much o' the camp o' the first movie were kinda ironic... but not dramatic irony as that is something complete different. never saw conan the barbarian (2011), so am unable to comment. am s'posing you could be referencing the comics as they were also entitled conan the barbarian, no? there were numerous other post howard reinventions o' conan and more than a few o' those were indeed embracing camp. the robert e. howard conan stories didn't go in much for camp, but none were actual called conan the barbarian. dunno. is tyranny accidental and isolated campy as were 1982 conan? ... on the other hand, conan the destroyer fully embraced camp. am admitting we never much enjoyed the conan sequel. regardless, am a bit confused by the observation. HA! Good Fun!
  20. albert is a funny guy well... HA! Good Fun!
  21. finally saw kingsmen. weird. somewhere in the mess were a fun (if familiar) concept. american version with vin diesel has the super spy who is effective 'cause he is anti-establishment. english spin has its eliza doolittle predictable conform to the organization, going so far as to don the trappings o' a "gentlemen." contrast. *shrug* still coulda worked, but samuel l. jackson's lispy villain were a disappointment, and in spite o' a fantastic cast, too many folks phoned in their performances, or existed only to let us see how much kewler were the protagonist than everybody else. 'course the most improbable moment in the movie were the following no way does hary hart quote hemingway. HA! Good Fun!
  22. hmmm. we always saw amentep as kinda the harry tuttle of moderators. is impossible for us to genuine congratulate those who join the ranks of moderation so instead we will simple hope for the best and pray amentep does not meet the same end as mr. tuttle. HA! Good Fun!
  23. nyc if you didn't know it were real, you wouldn't believe it could be real. every rpg city dreams o' being new york on a good day... or a bad day. HA! Good Fun! ps am not a ny lover as is many, but it is unique. is as much martin scorsese as it is terry gilliam. london has a similar mad-game-designer feel to it, and the english city gots even more history, but no city is as diverse and improbable as is ny... at least in our experience. dunno, but it seems as if every great sci-fi or fantasy game city is trying to be what ny already is.
  24. HA! Good Fun!
  25. constitutional/first amendment law. as for gd, am thinking he overstates the anti-gun pov o' the government. sure, politicians like to spout off after every mass shooting, but there is many parts o' the country where a pickup truck w/o a gun rack is gonna look peculiar to the locals. grow up in rural _______ usa w/o firearms exposure is gonna be the curiosity. heck, where we grew up, first day o' deer season were a functional school holiday. Gromnir's gun position falls w/i the weirdo category 'cause am perfectly okie dokie with gun ownership, but we is much opposed to handguns. we own multiple hunting rifles and shotguns, though we ain't gone hunting in years. given the number o' firearms we own, the absence o' any handguns is no doubt gonna seem odd... we must be hiding something, eh? in spite o' public hand wringing by liberals regarding mass shootings, the number o' homicides resulting from bolt-action hunting rifles every years is negligible, and ain't much more significant for shotguns or even semi-auto rifles. semi-auto ar-15 looks sinister, but is not a serious contributor to homicides stats. in fact, blunt-force weapons and human fists is responsible for more deaths than traditional hunting firearms or semi-auto rifles. assault weapons is already illegal, so that boogieman is a non factor in criminalization o' firearms discussions. is handguns. handguns is the overwhelming weapon o' choice for USA homicides, particular firearm homicides. even so, both liberals and conservatives tend to look at us as some kinda hypocrite or lunatic when we voice our firearm concerns. yeah, am perfect aware the second amendment protects handgun ownership and we would defend the legal right for an American to own a handgun. 'course is nothing which prevents something from being legal and stoopid. handgun ownership is, in our opinion, stoopid. is our handgun position which actual makes us a weirdo. the fbi would never get anything done if they were actual keeping tabs on all americans who own firearms... regardless o' the tinfoil hat theories to the contrary. HA! Good Fun!
