  1. you still have not provided the developers (or fellow posters) with any specifics. how is obsidian, or others s'posed to respond to such a sweeping generalization? please provide a few examples o' overnerf, and most important, why such changes were overnerf. am willing to consider the possibility that you are correct, but you are not giving us anything meaningful to respond to. surely if obsidian took good gameplay and rendered ciphers and other classes into piece(s) of … ****, you could indicate what were changed which is wrong, yes? alternatively, if you have not played the game since release, and you cannot name specific changes which is bad but you nevertheless genuine feel as if your characters is weaker, there may be alternative explanations. potd, for example, got a difficulty upgrade from the developers soonish after release. the potd difficulty increases is particular noticeable in the earliest portions of the game. you sound unhappy, but you ain't giving the developers anything to work with. help a fellow gamer out and provide a few actionable concerns. HA! Good Fun!
  2. this is getting very, very sad. logic does not have your argument, your fallacy, get stronger 'cause of something Gromnir said or did not say. is absolute nothing Gromnir can do or say to make your argument better. lord knows you cannot fix your mistake retroactive so as to erase your poor grasp o' logic. just don't bring up logic... evar. you have no idea what you are doing. HA! Good Fun!
  3. am suspecting there is some cathartic value in venting spleen, and even w/o an identifiable criticism, is possible there would be usefulness if he/she could get a large number o' folks to join in with the p00p hurling-- even if obsidian can't figure out why makumba believes cipher play were ruined, they might try and fix if enough people shared vague feelings o' cipher inadequacy. w/o focus, would need be much poop tossed to elicit positive change. ... even so, if the goal is to prod obsidian to make changes, or reverse changes in this case, am thinking the genesis poster would be far more likely succeed if he/she would identify specifics-- tell developers what nerfs were ill conceived and why such changes were having an undesirable game impact. at the moment, am unable to guess with any confidence what cipher changes offend makumba. would an obsidian developer have more luck diving the genesis post for useful criticism? doubtful. HA! Good Fun!
  4. yeah. the cipher were one o' the top vote winners whenever there were a worst class poll at release. cipher never seemed that bad to us, but there were a universal reduction in cast times which did much to makes the cipher folks happier. however, the last patch am recalling in january had a few focus cost increases... which were needed, but am recalling a near double o' the cost for pain block. HA! Good Fun!
  5. first music we ever bought for our self were queen's the game... on 8-track. however, the first music ever bought for Gromnir were a christmas present back in 1976. had listened to our grandfather's small vinyl collection, which were heavy on jazz (ack) and classical, but for some reason, we got as a present. had never heard o' supertramp, but am recalling how cool the album cover looked to us. played the album 'bout a million times, 'cause were the only one we had. am not a prog rock guy, but got a serious soft spot for supertramp. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvfJcwWFf6Y is funny, but we remember smells when listening: Grandmother making cornbread; the subtle mildew stink from the corner o' our room where the dry rot were just becoming visible through the wall, that ozone smell you can almost taste even before you see a thunderstorm coming out o' the black hills. still have no idea what made our grandparents get us a supertramp record, not that it matters. HA! Good Fun!
  6. am rare finding obsidian has nerfed a class to unplayability, but have admitted not played since lateish january. also, in the spirit o' full disclosure, we tend to see lazy nerfing by obsidian as a reaction to player opness. from our pov, obsidian is over invested in whacking individual moles as 'posed to making changes which would prevent new moles from appearing. if we had to indulge in an exercise o' oversimplification, we would suggest obsidian undenerfs classes, but overnerfs particular powers and abilities. if an ability is too good and makes for a functional win-button-choice, obsidian will make certain nobody wants to use such ability... evar. there may be a dozen things needing attention 'bout a class, but is the glaring op stuff which gets attention, and obsidian's fix often makes the singular spell or ability no longer worthy o' consideration. as such, looking at individual nerfs in isolation, they will look harsh and punitive, but rare is a class utter defined by a singular ability, and when such happens it is a mistake demanding developer attention. can't honest think o' an intentional obsidian change which made a class genuine bad or unplayable, though a few bugs has come close to doing so. that said, am gonna admit obsidian has arguable overnerfed individual abilities and powhaz, but is easier for Gromnir to make such calls sitting on the sideline and with the benefit o' hindsight. so long after release, obsidian has got limited time and resources to devote to poe2, and singular power fixes is no doubt easier to test and implement as 'posed to more systemic changes. HA! Good Fun!
  7. perhaps during the next major florida hurricane, a bunch o' cassowaries get loose and breed like the pythons did after andrew. next thing you know, there is cassowary hunting packs snatching up all the cats and small dogs in gainesville. oh sure, cassowary is solitary in the wild, but all you need is one mad scientist to experiment with wolf dna or somesuch nonsense. am kidding 'course, but would anybody really mind if a bunch o' flightless murderbirds ran amok in florida? HA! Good Fun!
  8. In order to be an Appeal to Authority fallacy it has to actually be a fallacy- stating that experts must be right in the face of evidence proving otherwise; just because they're experts. "You need s/a rifles for pest control because you can shoot 46 rabbits in 2 hours with them, in daylight, in one field and can shoot dozens of feral goats/ thar/ deer/ pigs with them from helicopters- and that's what users, our PM, Police Minister, Police Commissioner and experts all say; and they trump your anecdotal expertise in the field since that field was in Dakota 6500 miles away." is classic appeal to authority fallacy. your reading comprehension o' the fallacy needs be an utter fail not to get this one. is a fallacy 'cause you are claiming your conclusion is correct 'cause your authorities says so. whether you think they is right 'cause is superior experts is inconsequential as to whether or not you indulged in LOGIC fallacy. we showed how fast a bolt or pump or lever weapon could be fired via multiple videos. extrapolated number o' kills. and yeah, we indulged in appeal to authority fallacy, but is not Gromnir who raised the spectre o' logic-- you did. logic is not a you win button. you brought up logic while simultaneous complete failing to understand syllogism and basic logic fallacies. you are still arguing this point in spite o' fact you is comical wrong. pathological? and the russia thing is, as usual, your reading comprehension fail. based on rate russia were burning through currency reserves, if russia did not make drastic changes, they woulda' reached bankruptcy in 6-18 months. russia made drastic changes to everything except their freaking dependence 'pon exports. but heck, by the end o' the day you is gonna learn a bit 'bout logic fallacies, whether you wish to or not. consider this a win. now if only we can get you to understand what imminent or immediacy is. were a problem for manifesto censorship and is clear a reading comprehension fail with calling in debt. zor got some weird mental block? HA! Good Fun!
  9. ship combat were intended to be a tangential mini-game, sorta like kotor swoop racing or pazak. the disconnect is natural and arguable intentional. as xar-monty mentions, you may skip ship combat entirely, which is possible in part 'cause o' the fact such encounters is non-essential. that said, particular for a potd and/or solo run, ship combat, while repetitive, is offering the best early-game 1007 and xp opportunity. is difficult for us to not exhaust ship combat opportunities o' named captains for a potd game as avoidance feels a bit like voluntarily handicapping our self. HA! Good Fun! ps following threads have useful ship combat insights https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/107827-need-help-with-ship-battles/?p=2130159 https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/107286-avoiding-instant-death-on-ship/?p=2123453
  10. weird aside, and to bring back to florida, the guy who pioneered early refrigeration and ac were john gorrie. dr. gorrie mistaken believed bad air were responsible for malaria, so he innovated an early ac apparatus to force hot bad air out of his medical facilities. he also recommended the use o' mosquito netting, but he had no idea the netting were doing more to prevent malaria than were his invention. HA! Good Fun!
  11. It was at least better than the rocks in ST:OS. Where Nimoy valiantly makes the effort to try and appear to be pinned down. https://youtu.be/PyN_6BeJ8KA?t=186 well, for perspective, the first handheld calculator were invented in 1967, but this is what you could get in 1966 for 'bout $1000... which is ~$8000 in 2019 dollars. special effects, which tends to have become tech heavy, has come a long way in 53 years. much o' star trek special effects were using stuff which had been around since 1902, and am understanding the models and sets were pretty expensive to create. check out 7:39 for early transporter magic. HA! Good Fun!
  12. tried to get cassowary into poe and poe2. am guessing having to come up with an entire new model made the request prohibitive. https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/66520-rangers-getting-ranged-attack-animal-companions/?p=1474491 if it makes you feel better, TN is home to the most lethal animal on the planet. 725,000 human deaths attributable per year. humans are a distant second insofar as lethality is concerned. there is potential good mosquito news. HA! Good Fun!
  13. weird concept which worked. is classic film noir, but set in high school. is an understatement to say am disliking time travel, and am not a huge fan o' star wars (as already stated) or most of the star trek movies (but even the bad star trek series has had at least a few fantastic episodes,) nevertheless, we liked old and grumpy last jedi luke who had to live with failure even though much o' the galaxy wanted him to be a hero. got all kinda criticisms o' the recent star wars films, and episodes 1-6, but while luke were perhaps our least favorite main character from 3-6, he were possible our favorite from the new trilogy. also liked paige tico. regardless, we would give brick a chance. had a budget less than 1/2 million, so do not expect aaa production values. stripped down to essentials. is also bordering on camp at times given the setting and characters, but it played the noir elements straight and had unexpected weight. that said, am a sucker for noir done well. HA! Good Fun!
  14. the link to the google search finds you literal dozens o' definitions all which say approx. the same thing. you would know this if you understood call in of debt, but you keep digging the same hole to deeper depths. as to logic. HA! you still believe more authorities and what you believe is better authorities does anything to diminish the fallacy? lordy. you are the gift which keeps on giving. copi. read copi... or any other introductory book on logic. better yet, don't raise logic as an issue until you have at least the smallest inkling of what you are talking 'bout. HA! Good Fun!
  15. the moment o' indecision by luke didn't throw us off much, given luke's character. realizing snoke had already turned ben and that goal were to destroy everything luke were protecting? firing up the lightsabre were a bit dramatic, but am getting why were needed visual. were an instant o' doubt, which is described as passing as quickly as it happened, but how to show visual and how to make ben's fear real? an anime star wars would be simple as killing intent is as recognizable and tangible as a greasy oil slick floating on the surface o' clean water, but we had a western movie where things need be a bit more plausible. have ben wake and sense luke's lingering doubt and anger woulda' worked in a book, but a movie? luke knows how complete corrupted were ben by snoke, and seeing the likely futures kylo would bring 'bout... by staring at the back o' ben' sleeping head and squinting a bit? we get your concern. seeming first reaction to admitted surprised recognition o' ben's corruption were a summary execution by lightsabre. 'course when luke disarms rey when she confronts him 'bout the truth o' the fateful night, rey grabs a lightsabre and threatens luke with it. a whole lotta impulsive dark stuff from folks s'posed dedicated to the the over-simple light side o' the force... which is why we sympathize with kotor2 kreia. but yeah, they coulda'/shoulda' shown the moment luke fails ben a different way. HA! Good Fun!
  16. agreed... with the possible exception o' the "got milk" bit. is this stoic rey? regardless. w/o belaboring, we liked the luke stuff more than other new star wars trilogy fare. there is serious plot holes lingering, but seeing how jj abrams left star wars looking like swiss cheese after force awakens, filling holes woulda' been a full-time job for any subsequent director who were dedicated to correcting such shortfalls. we expected there to be legacy holes and a few new problems with last jedi. with abrams back for ix, any hope for a coherent resolution with major plot holes all filled were utter dashed. abrams don't care if a story makes sense as long as is evocative and compelling in the moment. also, while am not a genuine star wars sooperfan, is our understanding the original lucas concept for the emperor were relegating him to figurehead status with the military-industrial complex being the true great evuhl. perhaps rian johnson super geeked and attempted to reintroduce an aspect o' a discarded lucas concept? is an explanation for the weird vegas tangent. HA! Good Fun!
  17. is very putin o' you that when confronted by your mistakes, you claim Gromnir is the one actual in error. the fact that every time you blunder you deflect or insist black is now white is exact how we get to where we is today. even so, if you still remember that is not logical to respond to an appeal to authority with an appeal to authority after complaining 'bout logic, am feeling we made progress. aside: you should order the copi volume we linked, or am foreseeing future claims 'bout logic going awry for you in equal comical ways. am suspecting you honest didn't know logic enough to realize how bad were your error, which made even more funny. doubt you wanna repeat. to call in debt is, by definition, an immediate demand for repayment. therefore, this statement "In the long term sure, when someone gets the balls to actually call in unsustainable US debt- in the full knowledge that the US would likely tell you to FOAD and a demand would likely implode the world economy you rely on." makes sense if there is a debt subject to an immediate demand for payment. such a situation makes holder o' the debt capable o' "demand" and provides a scenario where the debtor may respond to the demand by telling the lender to "foad." with fixed term treasury securities, there is no call in situation, which simple fact you have now spent multiple pages attempting to ignore and from which you is continuous attempting to deflect. the 8% debt china holds, in the form o' US treasury securities, is not offering much practical leverage for china. china could stop purchasing such bonds, but is nothing tantamount to a call in and the effects would be felt extreme slow and likely mitigated by domestic and foreign purchasers, such as japan which has 6% of US debt. mores significant, china currency would increase in value relative to US and its exports to US an other nations would subsequent plummet. such an ineffectual and self-defeating poison pill threat isn't worth considering, and isn't 'bout china testicles, that is for sure. however, as Gromnir has mentioned in the past, watching china and japan and brazil and Ireland debt holding is useful as a barometer o' US economic health. if china noticeable and dramatic decreases investment in US treasury securities, it will be a wake-up call for any number o' folks. yeah, the impact o' such will go unfelt by the ordinary consumer as the 8% slack from china, some o' which has 30 years to be due, will be absorbed by other investors, but the message to the US should be impossible to ignore. copi. serious. HA! Good Fun!
  18. we like daisy in spite o' our self, but not 'cause she is stoic. opposite. every emotion she has plays out complete uncensored on her face. sure, she can do determined, but she just as soon does complete surprised or the puppy-dog sad eyes or whatever else is demanded. is little subtle 'bout a daisy performance and we suspect she studied at the calculon school o' drama. am not sure how she does it, but she pulls it off. somehow stays sweet and genuine and kinda naïve, while trying to cut people in half with a magic sword made o' moonbeams and fairy dust... or whatever lighsabres is s'posed made of these days. am knowing we mentioned elsewhere, but surprised us how much we liked adam driver, 'cause we never saw the hbo show and we didn't like the kylo character much... at all. nevertheless, we like everything adam driver but kylo, and while am knowing the ren and kylo relationship is pivotal to the new trilogy, am clear not the target audience for what they is selling. HA! Good Fun!
  19. local and municipal not having money brought 'bout the surge o' sanctuary cities in the 1990s, a surge spearheaded by law enforcement agencies. sanctuary cities do not protect local citizens from deportation-- they can't. if ice wants to come in and run an operation in harvey county, kansas, is not as if the local sheriff is gonna do anything to stop 'em... and harvey county kansas is anything but a hotbed o' liberal ideology. so why did so many counties (like harvey) and cities in the 90s adopt sanctuary city policies? 'cause ice demands, particularly detainer, were expensive. pull over an undocumented alien for a minor traffic stop and ice wanted 'em locked up for 48 hours during which time ice might come pick 'em up. in addition to ice functional requesting local law enforcement do all the leg work on their investigations, city and county jails were needing hold ice suspects, and if, god forbid, a local jail accidental failed to timely release an individual when ice were no-shows to retrieve, then the local sheriff or police were gonna be stuck with the bill if the undocumented personage decided to bring a lawsuit, and courts as a whole were not big fans o' detainer policies. sanctuary cities/counties arose not as some kinda ideological response. reasons were practical. were money. feds were having local law enforcement do fed jobs w/o paying 'em, so local law enforcement said, "no mas." in 2010s, the sanctuary city stuff became politicized and were given an ideological spin, but the reasons we got so many sanctuary cities is not to protect illegals, but 'cause the fed were trying to get free work from state and local law enforcement. is few who were failing to put their money where their mouth were which brought 'bout the whole sanctuary city movement in the first place... and now trump wants to stick harvey, kansas with a new bill? and zor is a laugh a minute trying to not only change meaning of call in loans/debt, but long-term as well? HA! you referenced long term when somebody calls in the debt. call in is, by definition a demand for immediate repayment. so, long term, when somebody finally demands immediate repayment... etc. pay off a freaking 30 year mortgage in 30 years, at which point bank returns the deed, is not the bank growing a pair and calling in the debt. is no "demands" or foad as the US treasury reliable and methodical pays in a timely fashion. *groan* you are gonna eventually come to realization the debt on the treasury securities cannot be called in. refuse to offer second or third mortgage, while far more analogous than silly credit card bit, would still NOT be CALL IN by the lender. not even close. and since you wanna revisit golden oldies, this reading comprehension issue is exact like when you attempted to reimagine statements which failed to recognize that the ar-15 is a semi-auto in contrast to an ak, or like your more recent misunderstanding o' how in the US a manifesto must be likely to result in an immediate violent response for it to be subject to censoring, regardless o' how many times we stressed immediacy as vital. and as to russia, is exact like the bloomberg chart you misused, which showed how russian currency had tanked far worse than norway's in spite o' both nations being heavily dependent on oil. the entire point o' the visual were to the show the contrast and you mistaken saw the similarity. the russia thing is still funny as the point you bring up is how we quoted harvard economists who stated, quite clear, that if russia didn't make drastic changes, they would go bankrupt... were direct quotes from us and were in response to you mindless posting russian currency reserve, which hardly protected russia from their little oil issue a few years back. so russia cuts into pension money and has major increase in population poverty rate, but they avoid bankruptcy... and is arguable as to which woulda' been the better result particular as they still ain't made necessary changes to avoid a repeat o' same functional collapse if oil takes another header. oh and use iae as a source to show iran weren't developing weapons grade nuke when it were iae who specific said opposite were another amusing bit for us... etc. will happily keep current, but if you wanna revisit in an attempt to deflect, we will oblige. HA! Good Fun!
  20. much the cliff's notes version o' our own feelings regarding the two games. deadfire mechanics were a big improvement over poe (excepting penetration) but we were relegated to inconsequential observer status in a story we had a hard time caring 'bout. can hope we got a three bears kinda progression. HA! Good Fun!
  21. am understanding this. after property taxes, hoa, homeowner's insurance, expected maintenance and other nonsense, the two rentals am carrying into retirement won't be making us much money. if we can squeeze out enough return to cover our typical yearly charitable donations, am gonna be more than happy... and that is with Gromnir continuing as property manager. HA! Good Fun!
  22. well the folks in charge at dhs and ice initial thought the bus-to-sanctuary cities were a joke proposal when floated in november. legal advice made clear the idea were a non-starter. so miller (via trump) clears the folks in charge at dhs and ice and is again trying to get momentum for an idea which were deemed doomed and stupid in late 2018? this will go to courts, and like near all other trump admin ideas, it is gonna lose multiple times 'fore they get it right... if they can get it right. at minimum, government effort need be rationale related to a legit government purpose to legal move detainees. rational basis test is lowest standard o' review. it may surprise some people but punishment for democrats is not gonna be considered a legit government purpose. oh well, gd's gas station owner is safe for another day. HA! Good Fun!
  23. don't know your condo market, so can't say. however, as an example, we got a 1500 sqft home am renting for $1850. the average rate for such homes in the area is $2000/monthly. if am willing to wait, we could maybe get $2100. now keep in mind, there is basic utilities we need pay even if the property is empty, which is not extreme, but is still costing us a bit over $200 per month. in our opinion, is unreasonable to not take the $1850 who will occupy asap. might take two or more months to get $2100. so we get functional 10 months o' rent (at best) for the year. and am out an additional +$400 in utilities the tenant would be paying. so, $20,600 for the year. at $1850 we get full year occupancy and no lost utility costs, so am making $22,200 even if am asking $250 less per month. get a good long-term tenant in asap. if we don't get a tenant w/i first two weeks o' availability, we immediate lower asking rent. *shrug* empty property earns us nothing... actual costs money. HA! Good Fun!
  24. Just because it sucked for some of us doesn't mean it will suck for everyone. Besides, Gifted, Shady, Hurlshot, TN, all seem to have done well. So there is hope. Not for me though. Two attempts and two failures. Either I'm a terrible judge of character or I'M the problem. Either way, not getting on THAT horse again. am not good with gardening. have killed many plants over the years, and at some point we gave up trying to become a good gardner. is no rule which says you need to be good at everything and 'course the stakes is much lower when dealing with roses and tomatoes than spouses. stubborn trying to prove you is good at marriage would be only reason to criticize. ... we were actual engaged during our 3rd year at boalt. found out 'bout a medical condition and decided marriage weren't a responsible life path. on the positive side, from our pov, most married folks we know is making us think o' polar bear clubs. got a goodly number o' people enduring a shared agony while trying to laugh and smile through the unpleasantness. HA! Good Fun! ps edit to get back to politics candace owen we actual watched the entire "two hour" clip and she is kinda mischaracterizing her response, though she didn't deserve the admonishment she received. the nationalism question were asked at 38:30 ms. owens' response begins at 40:54. ends 41:55. listen to the entire 1 hour and 16 minutes at your own peril.
  25. *chuckle* telling us that eventual the system is unsustainable is not only preaching to the choir, but irrelevant. talk about reading comprehension fails. china can call OUT the system by not buying US securities, as we has said, but they can't make demands on the debt or call IN those debts as you stated earlier. is fixed term security notes and not credit cards. duh. is not same as cancelling a line o' credit. even if china stopped buying US securities tomorrow, it wouldn't necessarily result in any kinda overall US default short or long term. the bulk o' the debt is in the form o' multi-year bonds and is 8% of total debt, much o' which would absorbed by other trading partners and the US itself, 'cause again, the US treasury notes is a fantastic investment and is in much demand. china actual has less clout to call out the system as China is so dependent on exports to the US. one o' the reasons china invests so heavily in securities is to keep the dollar relative strong. "In the long term sure, when someone gets the balls to actually call in unsustainable US debt- in the full knowledge that the US would likely tell you to FOAD and a demand would likely implode the world economy you rely on." were a ridiculous statement. weeping 'bout once again being misunderstood when your statements is so clear and patent wrong is the norm. no need to revisit numerous recent zor blunders and misstatements. perhaps you were going for hyperbolic statement for effect? dunno. regardless, as we has said already, were a mischaracterization... which is actual a generous way to put it. HA! Good Fun!
