don't do ship boarding, not for potd and not at low levels. ship combat mechanics is complete separate from poe combat mechanics. a 7th level player character who is a master captain with best ship upgrades and 4* cannoneers is a match for any ship in the deadfire. same player is doomed in a majority o' boarding actions, so don't do boarding actions. save boarding for when you have level'd a bit. now that deadfire ships respawn, you will have plenty o' boarding action opportunities once you are appropriate geared and level'd. for a potd run, we recommend exhausting the ship bounty opportunities at lowest level possible and before recruiting any additional party members. doing as we suggest is borderline exploitive given the early game xp and 1007 rewards ship bounties provide. HA! Good Fun!

coulda' quit anytime during months of training. coulda' quit during the swim. coulda' quit during bike. each time you coulda' quit but didn't, am gonna call that a win. may not feel like an invictus moment today, but if had gone easy, is doubtful you would remember the experience as deep as this one is gonna stick with you. tough to appreciate what you won for yourself today. don't need to appreciate it today. congratulations and for what little it is worth, know you have Gromnir's respect... at least for today. Dr. Sues will answer your questions. is not as if he is receiving thousands o' questions, so is a good chance for you to get your question answered, even if you are less famous than slash from guns and roses. so, if you have dinosaur or cat questions you want answered by answered dr. sues... am considering asking if he will read the following line aloud: of course, the whole point of a Doomsday Machine is lost, if you keep it a secret! why didn't you tell the world, eh? ... "going nuclear" weren't something invented by the most recent senate. the second half of obama's Presidency were a constant drag-out fight 'tween the republican held senate, and the democrats in the house and oval office. harry reid accused the senate and mitch mcconnell o' being obstructionist while mitch and republicans lambasted the extra-constitutional behaviour o' obama and his curious new approach to executive orders. clinton were impeached. clinton were impeached. said twice, 'cause clear gd weren't paying attention or has forgotten or is trying to ignore. ronald reagan's tenure were marred by iran-contra, with Congress out for blood 'cause the wh were doing illegal and unconstitutional. nixon? oh, and jefferson is the guy who got the ball rolling with the transformation o' the office o' the Presidency, but we have had this discussion previous, no? louisiana purchase? unconstitutional. jefferson didn't like how fed Courts kept ruling 'gainst him, so he tried to destroy the Courts and he were not subtle. jefferson used the power o' his office to fabricate charges 'gainst a political rival, and he were even more blatant and petty 'bout it than is trump's fixation with clinton... and we could add to the list. Congress, for the past few decades, has indeed become indolent and torpid. if your goal is reelection, then do nothing apparently is better than doing the wrong thing? incumbents have big advantages and thanks to super pac money, being a member o' Congress is an extreme lucrative endeavour-- being a public servant these last few decades has become less and less 'bout serving the public. sadly, the campaign finance limit legislation ended up being deemed unconstitutional and legislative mercenary situation has only gotten worse. nowadays is a smidge different as Congress complains 'bout Presidential excess while refusing to actual do anything themselves, a problem which is compounded by historical infrequent, but increasing common (thanks to gerrymandering efforts) party split 'tween senate and house. that said, trump Presidency is different. as already observed, is easy to find examples historical o' Presidential excess and Congressional hand wringing, but takes us multiple decades o' chief executives to equal the nonsense trump has indulged in just over a couple years... and the lies. as much as a few folks wanna indulge in soviet-like false equivalency and deflection efforts to normalize trump behavior compared to predecessors, it just ain't real. for chrissakes, trump lies 'bout wind turbines, and when media calls him on the lies, he compounds... presence o' wind turbines decreases property values by ever increasing amounts, and the sound from 'em causes cancer? but all politicians lie and fake media, so somehow is less bad? am knowing gd dislikes the fed government as a matter o' principle, but you may, just a bit, indulge in a teensy-weensy bit o' hyperbole... from time-to-time. HA! Good Fun! ps onions may have layers, and so too do ogres and hell, but we never saw a point to the observation insofar as onions is concerned. no different than a potato. look at an onion and it may look perfect, but peel back the layers... but nobody peels an onion beyond skin, which makes it no different, from a practical pov, the humble tater. chop and slice is what you do with onions. cut into an onion and maybe there is a bad spot which weren't obvious by looking at or smelling the onion. so cut the damn bad spot out and you got yourself a perfect fine onion or tater. 'course onions and taters may have bad spots which go down to the heart. bad spot started deep within and expanded out, and no 'mount o' culinary surgery is gonna save. some onions, and taters, need be discarded. regardless, am not caring 'bout onions and layers, 'cause we chop and dice and slice onions. doesn't everybody? -

on the positive side, of the remaining 10% fixes which address rtwp, abilities being applied to weapon aoe and the affliction bugs is present in the fix list. those two were the main obstacles preventing us from playing the last couple months... after the summoning bugs finally were attended. am sure there is new bugs, but for the nonce, we have no complaints which would extend our deadfire vacation beyond today. we read it and no, assuming the connection 'tween "blowing up random brown people," lies and trump approval is not enough. the problem is you so utter do not understand logic it is comical. you made inferences and assumed certain info as self evident. that ain't logical. gotta develop your syllogism. we can't keep leading you by the nose to get to conclusions. https://smile.amazon.com/Introduction-Logic-Irving-M-Copi/dp/1292024828/ref=smi_www_rco2_go_smi_g3905707922?_encoding=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0&ie=UTF8 is gonna be a worthwhile investment, or simple give up anytime logic is at issue. say, "i am not arguing logic" and be done with it... or keep offering these fat curveballs for us to take yard. have never bothered with a voyager to initiate combat, so am having no experience with your problem. the value o' the voyager would be to avoid combats as it may run away like no other ship class in the deadfire. what sorta sample size are you talking 'bout? might as well go ahead and report, but am not able to bring self to test this. the list o' zor triggers is getting too big for us to follow... and here we thought we were giving you a pass rather than rubbing your nose in it. though bring up reading comprehension is particular amusing "The only thing either strike on Syria accomplished was boosting Trump's approval, that the US lied blatantly about the results was more than proof enough of that." as such your reply is completely unresponsive given your original proposition. you in no way tied your "lies" to trump approval, hyperbolic silliness 'bout michael bey and brian williams aside. we pointed out how, once again, you failed to be logical and you respond by making same mistakes. build your syllogism, then get back to us... or don't. regardless, your reading comprehension fail has you once again achieving an epic miss. but as to the syria missile stuff specific, this is indeed spam. you wanna revisit, be our guest. honest cannot imagine why you wanna get the same treatment as the guy in the rock n' rolla clip... again. say something new... or at least get your reading comprehension issues fixed. feral: the children raised by wolves worst case scenario is you let your dogs raise the child. your dogs, not our dogs. one o' our dogs is afraid o' any loud noise including heavy wind and/or rain as well as the infrequent distant plane flying overhead; finds nearest room corner and shivers. one likes to roll in p00p. one dog likes to eat p00p. the smartest o' the four (not a border collie... go figure) is also the smallest and is an absolute menace to quail and killdeer fledglings as he has a preternatural ability to catch and swallow such whole. good luck HA! am gonna ruin adam... a little. physics is the reason mcdonalds sold really hot coffee. the hotter a fluid is, the quicker it becomes cold... which probable doesn't mean what you think it means. the rate a fluid decreases in temp from 200-199 is gonna be faster than from 199-198. is not that if you have a 200 degree fluid it will reach room temp faster than one at 150. regardless, really hot coffee cools really fast, and that is likely the only time you is ever gonna see Gromnir use "really" multiple times in a post. mcdonalds didn't make huge amounts o' money on their coffee, and people wanted hot coffee. could spend more money on super-insulated cups, which woulda' cost mcdonalds money or, they could make the coffee hotter, so would stay hot longer. made sense to heat the coffee from mcdonald's point o' view. point is, there were good physics behind why mcdonalds served frightful hot coffee, and they did include a warning label, and as adam glosses over, the coffee spill were the old ladies fault, 'cause whether she is a silver-haired old lady drawn to look like adam's grandmother should not make her a better client. put a fragile paper and plastic cup o' hot coffee 'tween your legs with only thing holding in contents is a flimsy lid and hope. what could possible go wrong, eh? in fact, the jury decided the coffee spill were mostly grandma's fault, which is why actual damages were far less than the $20,000 she were asking for in her lawsuit. but again, illinois is a contributory negligence state, so if mcdonalds is deemed to be 20% at fault, they need pay 20% o' damages. sounds fair, yes? ok, and here is the kicker, the reason the award were so large were 'cause o' something called punitive damages. on these boards we have used the coffee case to illustrate how punitive damages work and why awards may be so large. because mcdonalds were a fraction at fault in the case there were the possibility o' punitive damages IF mcdonalds were wanton reckless or knowing negligent in their behavior... and that is where those other 800 people who got burned during a relative short period o' time become the linchpin to the big award. mcdonalds knew folks were getting burned. mcdonalds knew the little old lady were hardly the first to use her legs to hold the cup while adding cream ad/or sugar or talking on phone or adjusting radio or driving. mcdonalds knew, despite warnings, that people were getting burned, and they were at least a little responsible for people getting burned. so how does a civil court punish mcdonalds to make certain such behavior does not repeat? money. civil court remedy is money. if your neighbor did same as mcdonalds (which is not possible, but try and imagine your neighbor is the person responsible for all those burned people) how big o' a fine would need be level'd at her to make her stop selling sooper-hot coffee to little old ladies too stoopid to know better than to put the cup between their legs? if ms. ________ makes $50k a year, a $5k fine would hurt far more than if she made $500k, yes? ... see where this is going? lawyer pulls out a dry-erase board and shows simple math to jury. lawyer, all magnanimous, agrees a $5k punishment for ms. ____________ would be extreme harsh and unnecessarily high. so how 'bout $1000... or even $500. would a $500 fine be enough punishment to prevent ms. _________ from contributing to the burning o' 800 future customers? the thing is, mcdonalds don't make $50k. mcdonalds generates billions in revenue, +$20 billion. 50,000 ---- 500 20,000,000,000 ---- lawyer dramatic adds the zeroes and ends up with $20mil. and why didn't the other $800 people sue? more than a few tried, but most couldn't get an attorney to even take their case. lawyers were looking for the perfect client. needed somebody who suffered and didn't simple get a slight blister on their tongue. legal, burned tongue or lap makes no difference for the punitive damages calculation, but makes a difference to juries. needed somebody whom the jury would sympathize with. so, we get the parked car with everybody's favorite grandma as the victim, and she gets 3rd degree burns. ideal plaintiff. weren't a frivolous lawsuit, but adam kinda leaves stuff out and glosses over other points for effect. regardless, the basic misunderstanding were 'bout the nature o' punitive damages. single plaintiffs receive huge award for even minor injury happens 'cause o' civil court limited options for changing behavior o' bad actors. court punishes with money. the big award ain't 'bout the nature or magnitude o' the injury... ain't even 'bout how vile and cruel were bad actor. penalty is big 'cause the defendant is really, really wealthy and a monetary chastisement which would be effective in correcting such behavior must needs be really, really big. really. ... feel like paul harvey. anybody bother to read all that? oh well. HA! Good Fun! -
even if your recollection were accurate, it would be yet another argument in favor o' doing ship combat as 'posed to boarding actions. party ordinary levels is a complete non-factor in resolving ship combat. and we may say with certainty that recruited sidekicks who is not added to the party proper after joining your roster will fail to "bounce" to the watcher's level the first time they is added to the party and level'd, if such leveling occurs remote from whence they is recruited. tried this just yesterday in response to the genesis poster's query. as we noted, 'bove, we recruited sidekicks at 'bout level 11-12 range... perhaps a bit later for rekke. our watcher is level 20 and the sidekicks we level tested were all level 18, with the dwarf extreme close to level 19. am an obsessive game-saver, so we could check to see how sidekick xp languishes if is something folks is genuine interested in discovering. at the very least, during this more recent run, we kept a save everytime we level'd in the game, other than tutorial portion. as we noted already, after recruiting, we never level'd any o' the sidekicks-- they are all technical level 1 'ccording to our ship's roster... 'til we level 'em 'course. is difficult to imagine a more tedious exercise, but perhaps we will check sidekick levels at recruitment (or close) and then perhaps level 15 and level 20. am knowing we checked at level 20 already, but such were level 20 after considerable additional gaming. "screw your courage to the sticking place, and we'll not fail." give us a bit. HA! Good Fun! ps we may only do this experiment with sidekicks as such were the joinables we never bothered to level... evar. if regular companions have a slight different xp progression, we will have no way o' gauging accurate. pps *sigh*seems we were more cautious with sidekick recruitment for the character we were running in january 'cause none o' the sidekicks were recruited into our crew previous to level 16... which is interesting in itself as 4 additional Gromnir levels resulted in 2 sidekick leveling opportunities. will nevertheless look to see what happened 'tween level 16 and 20. have a couple earlier characters, but we retained far fewer saves for such. ppps ok. so at some point between level 16 and 17 we recruited all sidekicks and never level'd any. we used our level 16 save (immediate save 'pon attaining level 16) and then added konstantine and level'd him. sure enough he were within a thousand xp o' our watcher character and were also level 16. as we said, somewhere betwixt 16 and 17 we recruited all sidekicks, but at our level 18 save, konstantine were beginning to fall behind-- were level 17.5. at our level 20 save, konstantine were level 18.5.

that is part o' the difference 'tween the object lesson which were the cruise missiles to syria and the present situation with iran. syria were a b!tch slap... nothing more. were limited and calculated to humiliate both syria and russia, and it were highly effective. no real chance o' escalation. us tells syria and russia that the slap is coming and they have more than an hour to sit and prepare to be slapped. humiliation. no casualties. more important to media and voters, no us casualties. coulda' sent cruise missiles anywhere in syria, and not just the air base. wouldn't necessarily be warning next time when a missile ended up catching general ________ on the toilet, eh? the current scenario has a much greater likelihood o' getting out of hand, which is why media other than fox is expressing concern rather than support. we should all mourn the absence o' kelly, mattis and mcmaster from the trump cabinet. is multiple examples o' trump or bolton requesting something stoopid, and the generals (and others) needing act as the better angels o' our nature to prevent conflagration and tragedy. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/factcheck/trump-says-nobody-disobeys-my-orders-here-are-15-recorded-instances-of-exactly-that/ar-BBWbkjK?ocid=spartanntp https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2019/05/06/john-bolton-on-the-warpath am not certain if this is a crisis o' trump's making to distract from domestic issues. such were a prophetic fear we vocalized on these boards early in the trump Presidency and am sincere in the hope such a line o' selfish and callous recklessness has not been crossed. too many things can go wrong. ps statement by former federal prosecutors "We are former federal prosecutors. We served under both Republican and Democratic administrations at different levels of the federal system: as line attorneys, supervisors, special prosecutors, United States Attorneys, and senior officials at the Department of Justice. The offices in which we served were small, medium, and large; urban, suburban, and rural; and located in all parts of our country. "Each of us believes that the conduct of President Trump described in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report would, in the case of any other person not covered by the Office of Legal Counsel policy against indicting a sitting President, result in multiple felony charges for obstruction of justice." count o' signatories (a few is big timey) is at 566. were 395 less than 12 hours past. at some point even the fox hole trump loyalists gotta question whether this is the guy they should be defending, no? -

wrong seals. though they is hypnotic, no? still wrong. priestly seal spells: repulsing, warding and searing. we first mentioned this in the now dark past o' 2017, but whenever we see folks discussing advantages and disadvantages o' priestly seal spells, we almost never see a recognition o' empowers. not only may a seal spell be cast before combat functional for free as the per-encounter usage will regenerate if one waits a few seconds to begin a fight, but the seal may similarly be empowered outside o' combat. sure, the empower will still count against the per rest limit, but the per encounter empowering will regen allowing for a functional extra empower during difficult combats. warding seal is a particular nice opener for a battle with multiple foes as it provides an aoe interrupt. a well positioned warding seal will interrupt multiple foes as they is activating their opening abilities. just sayin' HA! Good Fun! ps we would not be averse to obsidian adding militarized siberian seals to deadfire or poe 3... possible as a ranger companion. seems ideal for a coastal aumaua ranger. kidding. we kid.

as wacky as it sounds, we do not current have pictures o' the two little dogs. the minidogs managed to get out o' the yard a week or so ago (rascals dug underneath the chicken wire we have 'round the perimeter fence) and a neighbor o' ours who kinda coordinates a lost pet social media presence for the community asked us to send her pictures o' the pups. realized we didn't have any. dogs were only loose for 'bout 45 minutes and 'ccording to the folks 'cross the street, the little scaredy cats never strayed more than a dozen feet from our yard once they got loose, but we should get pictures in case they get loose for reals. will come up with something in the next day or so... now that we got loads o' time on our hands. thanks, but am not sure how much credit we deserve for smartness. we started extreme early with the ira and 'tween ages 25 and 35 we lived like a dirty hermit to make every penny go a bit further. were only possible 'cause o' lack o' a family. am also knowing that if by some unforeseeable set o' circumstances we lost our health insurance, we could be complete f'd. almost makes a guy think 'bout voting democrat. also, as a newly retired person, am gonna go to dmv on thursday morning... 'cause we can. tried to make a dmv appointment and is literal a 3 month wait for any area office. so, am gonna show up before doors open on thursday and then wait, 'cause we have nothing better to do on thursday. not ez, but am suspecting you got more experience opportunities remaining, even if you do not realize. we got a level 20 contemplative (hit level 20 awhile back) who has done 0 dlc. rekke would seem to be our lowest level joinable-- never level'd him. never bothered with any sidekicks and they is all level 18... though the dwarf is a sneeze away from level 19. now admitted, we didn't add any o' the sidekicks 'til after we completed the ship bounties, but even so, that means they entered our party at level 11-12. we haven't done nemnok, splintered reef, the fampyr cave, the final mapping quest, bekarna's folly, and any quest which requires completion o' ashen maw... seeing as we ain't yet started ashen maw. would be a drag, and not ez by any stretch, but am betting you will be able to add a level or so to joinables if you uncover those quests and tasks you mighta' somehow missed. alternative, am s'posing if you rushed to add sidekicks and then never had 'em in your party to gain xp, you could be out of xp opportunities... though am having a hard time imagining a five level gap with no xp options remaining. why not a game editor? is no doubt gonna be quickest and likely easiest way to get all joinables to level 20. we have 0 experience with such, but am understanding there is at least a couple game editor options for deadfire. why spend hours attempting to achieve what could be accomplished in minutes? HA! Good Fun! ps your conundrum does reveal a worst-case scenario we had not considered. we knew npcs not in party languished insofar as xp were concerned, but had no idea a five level handicap were possible. all the more reason for us to add companions and sidekicks only after all the bounties is completed. were already our typical approach, but based on your experience, the xp penalty for non-active companions is a bit more severe than we had assumed.
