Power Blast Vs Rapid shot, Poweratk vs flurry
metadigital replied to MTJ's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
There is a lot to be said for extra attacks ... assuming you have a high enough BAB to hit more often than not, then Master Flurry is very handy. I too would council the simultaneous use of Jedi Speed powers, as well. Don't forget Juno fighting style, if you can get it, too. Critical is cool because it has one of the best animations, and it does some hefty damage and can stun opponents. I usuallly end up with one of each for different characters. :D -
Use Jedi Speed power just before donning the pressure suit and you will be blessed with continuous speed whilst outside ... looks like a warped Benny Hill chase. I didn't like Taris at all first few times, then I liked it (apart from having to use the walking carpet and whiney little Mission, I grant you that still irks :D ) and then I tried level-hoarding Revan until Dantooine, which added some spice to the whole process (!).

It's personal preference. I had a big issue with giving the Ithiliads anything ... I did it first time through because I thought I'd need every advantage against them in the big fight. Second time through I killed 'em all and kept the mirror. (Pity they didn't implement Psionics properly in NwN. All the thralls should have been toast.) Hint: I would only suggest that it is quite possible that you would not complete all the side quests on the way to the major battle, anyway.

Is the character interface inconsistent?
metadigital posted a topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Surely if you are blind, then you cannot see. And this is a role-playing game, so when switching to a blind character -- e.g. Kreia or Visas -- we should be limited by their special needs (just like Kreia cannot equip a weapon in her left hand). And why can't we have left handed players, anyway? -
 My analysis of the available evidence (i.e. content of these fora) tends to the judgement of "sane, interesting and clever". I must confess I was interested to see what sort of crazy person would put a picture of themself on the internet (unless you are one of those damaged souls that strive for mediocratic Z-list stardom by any means, including the self-flagellation of reality tv, or actors " ). I was pleased to note that you are no crazier than the average person. ... Wait 'til they become teenagers ... Good point <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Crayon picture points to jog his memory after being drilled with speech material to assist in wrote learning .... maybe? "

Baley, I seem to recall that you haven't played K1 past Taris. Is this correct? If so, you are hardly in a position of authority to declaim the relative boredom quotient of the two games.

My 1st attempt at art (2nd sketch patch May13)
metadigital replied to TetsuJedi's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I always have issues with noses. I was quite pleased to note (in a schadenfreude sort of way) -- last time I ventured into the National Gallery, in London, far too long ago -- that the even the masters have difficulty with front on nose drawing. Isometric, so as to give a slight profile (like Sandro BOTTICELLI), or square on (LEONARDO Da Vinci), or front on (PIERO della Francesca) and be never satisfied with the shape and shading. Good hands, by the way (yours and the pictures). Probably the best advice is know when to stop messing with the art work, so as to not make it worse! -
How the heck did you guys deal with...
metadigital replied to HeLLsFuRy's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I would just like to express my whole-hearted agreement with this sentiment. My word I was very annoyed whilst trying to use stealth (which is only available as a solo "modal" scenario) only to have my erstwhile companions, who had been given "battle directive: stationary" commands direct-from-God-(me)-to-their-virtual-somatic-nervous-systems, charging into the affray in front of me. Aaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhh! -

Russin (w00t)...what does it mean ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It means "Noo Teh Zagnool" <{POST_SNAPBACK}> When I translate it on the internet Russian-English doohickey, it comes out as: "Well you have bent". Hmmmm. -

That's a shame ( ), there was some good stuff in there. :'( No doubts? I worry about people who express no doubts ... Seriously, this means that The Force is acting to create synchronistic joins between events according to some agenda ... "I don't believe in luck." (or at least this is what Kreia believes to be true, or wants us to believe is true, or wants us to believe she believes is true ... ) -
Are you suggesting that there might be some underlying reason, or some sort of predestination? I think you need to go and check out this*. Because we are still trying to determine if Kreia was onto something big. *Blatant plug for self-aggrandizing forum thread brought to you by the id of metadigital.

Which KotOR character would you be?
metadigital replied to Roger the Sith's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I guess it is, as opposed to Darth Maul. At least Bao-Dur's face isn't red. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Think a little more inside than just superficially. Bland as in the voice acting, not bland as in the skin fill colour. -
Not necessarily, it is conceivable that a character might be sucked into a vortex in the space-time continuum and be forced to replay a set series of events over and over again (commonly referred to as "Groundhog Day syndrome"). In this case, however, I have completed QA inasmuch as the module would let me, so for the sake of simplicity (and ignoring any possible temporal physics anomolies) YES, I have finished. Once.
-
I played through once, and I will probably go back shortly for another QA. (It's QA, after all, not true play. But that is also good, because I always find little bugs and flaws in the modules that I want to telll someone about ... and now I can!) "

Clarence Oddbody* would not be pleased with your cynicism, Harvey. I have to agree, though. AFAIK there just aren't that many new cRPGs due for release ... unless a lot of developers/publishers have been stealthily working on games that they are all about to release to the public ... which is unlikely and also still restricted to the number of publishers out there, which isn't many. *Angel, Second Class

Good point. Unless Kreia was double-bluffing ... Mis-information, innuendo, suspicion ... are all powerful weapons " Oh, no! No Baley, no -- back, down! Do not deluge another thread with "it's not real so there's no point is understanding it"!

Just some thoughts concerning sw and kotor 1/2
metadigital replied to RoadReaction's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Huh? who said he didnt? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yoda wasn't even present in EP4. We were first introduced to him in EP5 and he died in EP6. Just watch Return of the Jedi (EP6) and you will see. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Guys, it was my error. In my obviously-far-read-and-deeply-understood-and-committed-to-memory posting (<{POST_SNAPBACK}>), which I have since corrected. Keep up! -

Where did you get that picture of Gillian Anderson? I thought David Duchovny was the one with the pron-star past ... :D ... must be tough getting work now for her. "
