  1. I'm sure LA and OE are taking copious notes of the terrifically useful fan ideas. The best one can hope for is that some of the dribble being posted is actually read before the mods archive it to oblivion. Then at least, anything worthwhile and novel, will be kept alive in meme form for any future developments.
  2. When did GL become a patron of the screen actors guild? I'm sure he's not going to film 20 episodes if no-one will buy them! He may be a bad writer/director, but he's a good businessman. Nah, there will be normal procedures followed, otherwise someone will be risking more than normal (tv execs or GL), and that won't happen.
  3. Sounds like Funtari is the Thai >ahem< offshoot of Hentai
  4. The cyclic redundancy check (CRC) is just a fancy parity check, basically it it the checksum that verifies that the game files are okay. I would bet you've got a physical error on the disc. Try it in another pc, and that will tell you for sure. Just go back to where you bought it and tell them your sob story, or call up the help line on the back of the box and tell them; I'm sure they will swap the broken disc for a new one
  5. I caught a second or two of some Top of The Pops (or whatever the show was) the other day and I'm sure they had that Frog re-release of Axel F as NUMBER ONE in the UK charts. For the third week, or something. Instant death for anyone playing it near me.
  6. Not having been to Las Vegas recently, I don't know off-hand; still "Best Games" means "PC Games"; I'm sure not going to buy a console when the cutting edge is to be found in this genre.
  7. I think I know her! Bertha, isn't it ...?
  8. You never know ...
  9. - Yes, it just saves the iso to my harddrive when it's set to burn the image using my D: (DVD-RW) drive. Or it says the drive can not be located. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This means that the software doesn't regard the drive as write-enabled. Either the drive is a read-only drive, or a setting is out somewhere. (I doubt it's a hardware fault because you can still read from the drive.)
  10. Never heard of it. (That was a topical humourism, the number one single in the UK charts has just recently been Show Me The Way to Amarillo, rereleased by Tony Christie, who was given the Keys to the City, donchaknow.) Corrupt? A game hierarchy? What "power" has corrupted them? Political leadership of an online clan?
  11. Ah, more Douglas Adams trancendental wisdom! The humble cricket bat test for combat: if it dies, you've won. If it doesn't, you're in trouble, RUN! )
  12. Spring 1901. Let it be known that the sole regent of the Most Glorious Ottoman Empire, His Excellency Sultan Abdul Hamid II, the 38th Ottoman Sultan and 98th Caliph, whose magnificence annoited our blessed lands since August 31, 1876, shines no more. Gloriously, His Excellency The Sultan Metadigital Aurangzeb, Emperor of the Roman and Trebizond Empires, Sovereign of the House of Osman, the 39th Ottoman Sultan, Sultan of Sultans, Khan of Khans, Commander of the Faithful, Ninety-Nineth Successor of the Prophet of the Lord of the Universe, reigns supreme over the Caliphate, the Holy Islamic State. Long live Metadigital, Praise be to Allah. الله
  13. And besides, I pre-ordered and bought K2 reagardless of the initial (and inaccurate) reviews it received. (Obviously the reviewers hadn't palyed the game to its conclusion.) I won't do that again, and I don't think I'm the only one. PS The magazines have all printed updated reviews talking down their initial high marks.
  14. I don't agree that acquiescing to a dumbed-down mentality is conducive to the feedback process, nor germane to the development cycle. In other words: People Power! Spread the Word, further than the bad reviews in the gamer magazines and interent sites! Co-opt public buildings and spaces into the master plan! MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
  15. Based on what? Were there screenshots? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There were about a dozen concept art screens, like these:
  16. See, you're learning already!
  17. Sorry, I didn't make myself clear -- too many thoughts fighting to control the old grey matter (quiet in there!). It's a cop-out to reduce the number of intelligent foes, and permit the wholesale slaughter of beasts. There should be real LS combat non-lethal alternatives, like subduing opponents and beasts. It might even yield less experience. And be more difficult to do (sort of like a critical strike additional role after a hit, perhaps not as tough as a critical strike). That way the player is always tempted to just kill the opponent ... edging slowly down the insidiously slippery slope to the Dark Side ...
  18. It is definitely a disc error: try reading / installing a different game / piece of software from the same drive. It succeeds?
  19. I can assure you this question has been previously answered.
  20. You do write the most curious comments ..! A "different perspective" of the "respective races"? Do tell!
  21. I think you have to type "11" at some point, dunno, I forget now and my DVD isn't here ...
  22. I hope for your sake you don't get left holding the doll ... unless that was your intention all along, in which case I wish you luck with that. "
  23. That's a cop-out. Playing lightside is more difficult for a reason; you are protecting the weak, whereas the darkside are able to use human shields, break their word in negotiations (or not), kill indiscriminantly, fart in public, talk in public libraries and take hostages and kill with moral impugnity. That's what's missing. Maybe less people would be lightside if they were appraised of the real consequences of their actions ...
