  1. I saw a rat in the grounds of the Church the other day. Just wandering in the dappled greenery, making a leisurely pace across the graveyard.
  2. Really? I thought that was a good exploration of the deterioration of society into a warlord-led might-makes-right scenario. Also it had Doctor Who.
  3. Nice idea, but not really likely; that would be tantamount to admitting a mistake.
  4. Yeah, the KotOR plot is actually a very good game plot.
  5. I like the picture.
  6. ... Helped you move ... what?
  7. A naughty word got through.
  8. The biggest hurdle with a Sony laptop (as with most of their products) is the high entry price. Apparently the finish is worth the premium.

    What

Today? The theme from Mission Impossible.
  10. Taut brand orange and mandarin isotonic energy drink with added zinc, magnesium and vitamin B6.
  11. Opportunity knocks very few times ...
  12. You didn't like the hollywood happy ending? Because the director's cut has the alternate ending, where . I thought the sequel looked like 28 days Later, but with a sequel-amount of zombies and blood. So minus story and plus gore. Meh, I won't be rushing out.
  13. One of my earliest (school) memories is back when my (second-grade, IIRC) teachers invited us to read from a bookcase, and I asked if I might be allowed to write some. (They said yes.) Kinda makes me have to confront the fact that I really want to write, even though I've been avoiding it for my entire adult life (as it isn't a safe career). Actually, I'm just about to do some tertiary-level astronomy. I have been thinking about learning more about it for a while. Cool!
  14. Matias' comments on RAM are pretty spot on; some of the cheaper box-shifters supply RAM that is measurably slower than the premium stuff, even when set to the same timings (wiki). There is a new, lower-price SLI-ready nForce chipset motherboard for about
  15. yawn Shhh ... the Knights Templar will GET you ..! :ninja10:
  16. ... And history (and Rome: Total Realism)! Maybe I can give you some advice or something. I want to become a writer and/or actor. And guess what? I’m confident that I’ll succeed in becoming a writer, an actor, or both. Of course I’m prepared for the very possible possibility that I’ll fail, thus I haven’t set myself up for disappointment, but… I like my chances. What can I say? I’m optimistic to the point of almost being self-delusional. It's not about your commitment and talent, it has a lot to do with luck, too. (Unless you are just interested in writing ANYTHING to make money, then you can become quite successful writing newpaper columns or advertisement scripts, etc.) Isn’t being meta-human satisfying enough? Nothing is ever enough!
  17. Hint: make something up if/when she asks you what you did instead.
  18. If you're asking about viscous, then you obviously haven't needed a word to describe how thick a liquid is. Viscosity is a measurable quality of oils, to use the most obvious and widespread example. Some oils need a higher viscosity to ensure they keep engine parts coated, even when the engine is off, for example; lower viscosity means higher transport speed from one area of application to a linked one. There is also a need for a way to describe solids that act as liquids, like glaciers and glass, over centuries. It is not unusual to describe someone's sarcasm as "dripping" from their words/lips. Making it more viscous means adding more potency, for one thing.
  19. More trying to explain that the team might have reasons for doing the bugfix in a particular order, and not just to pee off Xard.
  20. I didn't think he had that much hair ...
