  1. You didn't have flying pigs in your game?
  2. I don't think it is strictly necessary to be able to wander into people's homes. Why? What's the point? For realism? Getting a tooth drilled is realistic, but I don't particularly want to do it in a game. Games are also meant to be abstracted from reality, so that all the boring stuff is skipped over (like healing over time, or eating, for example). There needs to be a better reason to include a feature, other than it is "real". I agree open spaces are a great idea, but I didn't see the point in all the little houses with their f
  3. I've seen them lurking, and answer on occassion (not much, though): I guess they are either: too busy to post, or not allowed to post, or not interested in posting. Let's hope it's door number ONE. :D
  4. Pity you can't do it to all of them ... (after all, they aren't needed).
  5. Nah, they'd have to drown them in cooking oil, first ...
  6. Darth Ed D'Oh ? If he's smart he's abandoned his former id and started afresh. Of course, as soon as he posts, we'll all know who he is ...
  7. Purple and Green should never be seen, excepting with something in between.
  8. It's geek-exploitation: geeksploitation!
  9. This could be the underlevel of the conclave, where you find Disciple.
  10. Talk about pick the best answer from none suitable! I voted for the story, because (even though it was half-finished) all the other stuff was either half-finished, or fluff, or both. It would have been much better had they developed the story and especially the main characters to their conclusions; Nihilus was wasted, Sion was almost as squandered, and Kreia had incredible depth, but to no end! The other characters were poorly fleshed out, the planets were about the same as K1, and comparing like for like results in K1 winning.
  11. They're written out in full on the dialog.tlk file.
  12. * Consumer health & safety warning: Don't try this at home.
  13. That's so cruel!
  14. Thanks for the link, Kaftan!
  15. The WHO managed to create a vaccine for SARS in less than 24 hours (once they had the virus sample): the fastest (obviously) in the history of immunology, and a true credit to the people involved. A Bird Flu (or any influenza) is worth taking time to consider the implications: mainly because after it's spread, it's TOO LATE to do anything. Remember, the pandemic of 1917 killed more people than both World Wars; they exhumed some bodies that were buried in the permafrost of Alaska to analyze the virus (which also means that the US has stocks of it for use as a weapon): it was lethal in a large percentage of cases (more than half, iirc): drowned the victims with their own mucus in the lungs (lovely). We are also overdue for the next pandemic. And it's coming, and it will come from the hot zone (China and surrounds). Be a boyscout, now, while you still can ...
  16. ... Carr's wife, Chikako Carr, 50, said she still has no idea why her husband took off while she was in a grocery store restroom. He also dumped a box of belongings, including important personal papers and photos, in a pasture on the outskirts of Ashland a few days before he disappeared. ... Sure she knew nothing about it ... the box of belongings didn't happen to mean that they were seperating ... which consequently means that she might have jeopardised her beneficiary status for his assurance ... Still, if there's a loophole, the insurance company will exploit it ...
  17. Poor writing is poor writing. There is no need to make the extra charge of poor follow-through on the writing by not including characters from K1, and their equivalent should the PC choose Revan to be DS. It is all just poor writing, and it is also irrelvant whether this was due to poor planning against the time available, moving goalposts (shortened time frame available), negligence or sheer incompetence. I don't know whay writing isn't given the due importance it requires. It's like trying to complete a complex task without a map ...
  18. What about people without broadband who don't want to wait ages for the Steam service to activate their game? The Xbox version will be a better option, even if the graphics are worse. (I'm assuming we won't need a connection to Xbox Live for this game. I'll be really annoyed if we do.) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Depends on how paranoid / anal about preventing piracy they are. There is less risk of piracy with the Xbox, I would think, which would be their main concern. Probably also not Valve's (direct) problem, either: EA would lose their profit margin, but for Valve it's all gravy. I wouldn't rule out an Xbox Live cryptographic key to unlock the game, however; it's not that difficult (just time consuming, if they use a long asynchronous cipher, like DES or 3DES).
  19. There wasn't much to discuss, to begin with. :D
  20. I'm just formalising the ruleset, so please bear with me ...
  21. How do you know so much about swallows?
  22. What are you suggesting ... out-sourcing to a better value area for talented geeks? (What is that called? Geek farming?)
  23. Part Eleven got to 74 pages.
  24. The installer for the full version is apparently f*cked up. It fails to create the main .exe for the mod. You'll have to download part 2 full and then the part 3 upgrade. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ah, thanks, I'll re-download.
