  1. I just get a link exposing some of the Pat Robertson bigotry.
  2. Great article, I was wanting to rad about why he got the VC.
  3. Right. Problems: 1. Only three people have submitted moves this turn (1903 Autumn). 2. Aishur is either too unwell or too obstreperous to play, so England is either out of the game or needs a replacement. Suggestions? Keep playing? Also, I will extend the deadline for 24hrs, initially, so please get any outstanding orders in.
  4. If I know Italians they would be busy fraternising with the Russian girls, not drinking the vodka with the Russian boys.
  5. Yeah, I'd rather they spent extra resources on getting the main voices right (re-recording, re-editing, re-casting) than giving the complete ensemble of extras one of the ten actors' voices.
  6. No. Google a Civ 3 forum (using the "site:" parameter) is my best advice. But remember that this is how the game manages difficulty settings, so you would be effecctively playing on the easiest setting, or easier. You might also want to check out the civ3.ini file.
  7. Half-Life is a 1999 game. From the back of Half-Life: Generations (includes Opposing Force, Counter Strike and Blue Shift): Windows 95/98/2000/Me/XP Intel Pentium 233 or AMD K6-2 300 32 Megs [sic] RAM 400 MB HD [Edit: My Half-Life 2 installation is upwards of 10 GB!] 2x CD-Rom Drive SVGA, high colour (16 bit) Win-compatible sound card 32-bit Internet service provider with 28.8+ modem or LAN (for multiplayer modes)
  8. Like NightCrawler, then? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> no, yuck <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Picture? There's a difference? "
  9. So? Certainly Revan ain't going to be a PC. The best you can hope for is a suicide to save the universe Christ-like sacrifice at the end of the game.
  10. As yo your first point, it is impossible to say with hindsight. But let's analyze each component, logically. I have recently played System Shock 2 for the first time, and the graphics are incredibly dated, yet I enjoyed the game for it's story. Additionally, there is no way I will go back and play a crappy game that had revolutionary graphics for 1993. So graphics are not an impediment to a great game reagardless of age, and they do not impel future players to revisit an ordinary game with advanced graphics for the time. Secondly, I disagree that reading is becoming pass
  11. Roshan makes a good point about KotOR, too. I can barely remember what Carth sounded like, but only because he moaned constantly and had a whiney voice.
  12. Why can't we just put all celebrities in ? That stupid dumb Victoria Beckham should go in, but the poor shark will end up with some sort of stab wound from the anorexic tart.
  13. Like NightCrawler, then?
  14. Actaully, ironically, you mention Lineage where the graphics were about as high-res as a TRS-80. (I say was, because Lineage II is out now, but the graphics aren't much better: certainly not to the standard of occidental MMORPGs). You are thinking like a marketing type wants and expects you to think, about shoes; washing powder; fruit; any packaged goods.
  15. Nope, just a hard drug.
  16. Repealing seat-belt (or motor cycle crash helmet) obligations of vehicluar drivers is only acceptable if there is some sort of mandatory health insurance. Otherwise, others have to pay for the idiot that spils his brains on the pavement and has neither health insurance nor a helmet.
  17. The better ones are not on the market. No Valium, Opium or Morphine. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not true. Morphine is regularly given to hospital patients, usually only except where they specify they don't want it (it causes a lot of people to become very nauseous). Pethadeine (an opiate) is regarded as the drug responsible for the largest adictive community (mainly doctors, as it happens). The largest legal farm in in Tasmania, where 70% of the world's supply is produced.
  18. But Russell Crowe is a berk. The only reason to like that film is the historical story it was based on. And I'd rather read about it in a book, than have my experience ruptured with Crowe's nasal vowels.
  19. Every single faux celebrity that has participated in Big Brother or any other reality show.
  20. Not at all... I'm not the type of person to do that Every scene she was in made me wish she got lightsabered... and to be almost completely controversial but honest here, I didn't even rate her performance in Leon <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, I'd agree with you on both counts. I think Ms Portman acted well for a ten year old (or however old she was in Leon / The Pofessional), but that's not saying much. I also think she was carried by the performances of Jean Reno and Gary Oldman, especially after seeing her later attempts at acting.
  21. I nearly returned my X-Men 2 DVD when I found it had a (two minute!) advertisement for Master and Commander at the cinema plastered on the trailers. Nineteenth century English sea captain with a Kiwi accent.
  22. It seems that you really aren't enjoying KotOR at all. I wouldn't keep playing it, because any joy you might glean from it will be overwelmed by the frustration you seem to be drowning in ...
  23. But what's it do? (Apart from Blink.)
  24. yes. It's almost the same as K2's. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But the combat is repetitive and far too easy! I juist entered the military base..... Doii I have muich moiire ahead oifi me? Anyway noiw Im goinna play falloiuit 2 again. Buit ill leave koitoiir oini my hard drive, maybe soimieday ill have accuimuilated anoiuigh willpoiwer toi get back toi it and finish taris at least and have a loioik at the next planet. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You are about three quarters of the way through Taris, but it gets better from there (although there are still a lot of fights with similar looking opponents: lots of droids). I must say it didn't bother me nearly as much as it seems to be bothering you, though. Sure the opponents were less varied than I would have liked; still I was playing for the story.
  25. What's a Blink?
