  1. Only if your definition of "best" doesn't include fun.
  2. Why? Because I don't equate the concepts of "best" and "favorite"? *is confused* Yes ... So Deus Ex is a better game, but you would rather play Morrowind? *is confused*
  3. What sort of mods? (Nice hair mod. )
  4. Both. 64-bit seems to be hit-and-miss with 32-bit applications. I would expect this to improve when the critical mass of consumers have (Vista-or-whatever's-next)-64, though I doubt that will be for a while.
  5. I'm busy powering my way through the text books; today I read another couple of chapters of How the Universe works (all about Strong (QCD), electromagnetic (QED), weak (Bosons!) and gravitational interactions, the particles (leptons, hadrons), quanta (photons, gluons, gravitons) and magnitude associated with each).
  6. The interviewers were just making sure you met the minimum standard of manageability; i.e. that you could be left to conduct bug-finding, reporting and play-testing generally without supervision, and can follow orders. The fact that you have a keen interest in games certainly helped, too.
  7. Fliers are chasing the insects, which are attracted by the lights.
  8. You are a very strange person. Or rather, your definition of "best" ("personal best" / "favourite") is very strange.
  9. And you've been bleating on at them to hurry up and fix the "minor" bugs ... when they could be more work than a major!
  10. It's just their entry in the game of Listing Favourite Games™. " Also, promite is much better than vegemite.
  11. Ooo, miss a turn, Walsh! Hammersmith!
  12. Morrowind had/has a huge following, though: if you were one of the players who can read endless pages of background info off scrolls that are left hidden in dungeons, and you like a sandbox game, then I can see why it would be placed so highly. I'm not, but that's more because Morrowind is a marmite type of game: people either love it or hate it, no in-between. Also, it's good to see Deus Ex getting it's proper acknowledgments.
  13. Do barbarians backstab?
  14. The current HP 30" beats the latest Dell in performance and features (and, unfortunately, price). This one looks nice. I wonder when it will be available ...
  15. They're there? That's good, those pesky shortcuts will get their just desserts.
  16. I believe the support for 32-bit applications (read: games!) is less than acceptable, though.
  17. West Acton to Holland Park, utilizing the Peter Faulks manuoevre.

Welcome; I trust you've had all your t'internet shots. :mkreku:
  19. I don't think I'd like to play-test games. From what I've heard you play the several sections over and over again, documenting each step of the way...doesn't sound too much fun. However playing a finished game and writing a review on it...that doesn't sound so bad. also :giving Mkreku the evil stare: Business (especially software design!) has a large element of due diligence, which is all that QA is. As for playing versus other QA, I can't see it being a big problem; though I wonder if joypad-blisters are then a business medical expense ... " Playing the game section over and over would allow you to stress test various elements; heck the designers might even take constructive comments from the QA, like "it would be really neat if you could open all the doors in the apartment block, and have some sort of trash to loot", etc.
  20. Yeah, that was something I noticed: compare the mobility of Robocop and T1000, for example. :D
  21. They hired you after you turned up to an interview dressed like that?
  22. Isn't there going to be a singleplayer campaign?
  23. Developers aren't going to have the resources to employ a full compliment of QA testers; most of the time they would be sitting around like vertex shaders during an indoor-scene rendering. At least the creatives are worth keeping on salary, as they contribute more than their investment ... Also, as a long-term contractor, I can tell you that this is just as useful as an entry vector into a company as any other (low-level or otherwise) job.
